Ronald's EcoFlow Batteries Review & Verdict
Ronald Brakels is SolarQuotes' in-house fact checker.
Ecoflow has been in the portable battery game for quite a while, and in late 2025 announced it would be offering home battery systems to Australian customers. Being a new product in Australia, we haven't formulated an opinion on these systems as yet. But one of the stand-out aspects is the warranty, which is 15 years.
EcoFlow Batteries: Pros & Cons
- Very long warranty (15 years)
- New product; needs time "out in the wild" in Australia.

Company Info
Ecoflow was founded by a group of battery engineers in 2017. Its global operational headquarters are located in China (where its batteries are manufactured), and the firm has offices in the USA, Germany, and Japan. EcoFlow claims to have 5 million users across 140 markets worldwide; most of those being buyers of portable battery systems and accessories.
EcoFlow Home Batteries
Currently, several modular EcoFlow PowerOcean home batteries have been approved for use in Australia by the Clean Energy Council. (You can check their approved batteries list here.)
These batteries will need to be installed with an EcoFlow hybrid inverter. Fortunately, EcoFlow has given both their hybrid inverters and their PowerOcean batteries and their hybrid inverters 15 year warranties, so homeowners won't have to worry about components of their home battery system having their warranties expire at different times.
Details on their home battery range and their hybrid inverters can be found on their Australian website. For datasheets, you'll need to go to their documentation page.
EcoFlow states their batteries feature dynamic tariff support, which lets them charge from the grid during periods of cheap or free grid electricity. They can also be monitored through the EcofFlow web portal.
Like nearly all home batteries these days, they use LFP (lithium iron phosphate) battery cells. PowerOcean batteries can be floor or wall mounted, have an operating temperature range of -20ºC to 50ºC, assisted by natural/convection cooling and are IP 65 rated for outdoor/indoor installation.
An EcoFlow PowerOcean Plus system can be expanded to 45 kWh capacity, but three stacks of batteries and three EcoFlow hybrid inverters are required. One hybrid inverter can support a maximum of 15kWh.
Warranty Details
The warranty accompanying the EcoFlow PowerOcean Plus is 15 years, or 6000 charge/discharge cycles, whichever comes first. As normal households average less than one full charge/discharge cycle per day, the warranty should last a full 15 years. EcoFlow guarantees the PowerOcean Plus batteries will have a minimum nominal capacity of 70% after 15 years of use or 6000 charge/discharge cycles when working with a compatible EcoFlow inverter. EcoFlow hybrid inverters also have a matching 15 year warranty.
These warranty conditions are considerably better than the standard 10 years warranty offered by most home battery manufacturers.
