Michael's Soltaro Inverters Review & Verdict
Michael Bloch covers the latest developments in home electrification for SolarQuotes.
While we don't have many Australian customer reviews of Soltaro hybrid inverters, Soltaro battery reviews here and elsewhere tend to be mixed - particularly in relation to warranty support and repairs. Given their track record to date, it's not a brand we currently recommend.

Company Info
Established in Australia in 2016, Soltaro doesn't reveal much about itself or the firm's history on its website. What we do know that as well as having its headquarters in Australia, the company has offices in New Zealand, the UK and the Netherlands.
In addition to batteries, Soltaro also offers EV chargers, air conditioning solutions, hot water heat pumps and USB rechargeable batteries.
Soltaro Hybrid Inverters
While Soltaro is an Australian owned and operated company, its products are produced in Wuxi, China. When it stopped offering hybrid inverters as a stand-alone product isn't clear, but they were available in Australia until at least late 2020.
The Soltaro Hybrid was available in 3kW (RHI 3K-48ES), 3.6kW (3.6K-48ES) and 5kW (RHI 5K-48ES) versions. These offered a maximum PV conversion efficiency of 97%, a maximum efficiency of 95% for battery inverting/charging, a maximum charging power of 3kW and seamless switchover in blackout situations .
The units measured 333 x 565 x 250 mm and weighed 20kg to 25kg. They were rated IP65 for indoor and outdoor use, and had an operating ambient temperature range of - 25°C ~ + 60°C.
Whether these hybrid inverters were compatible with batteries other than Soltaro isn't clear.
Warranty Details
Soltaro RHI hybrid inverters were accompanied by a 5-year product warranty that could be extended to 10 years. However, a Soltaro datasheet we've seen states a "designed lifetime" of ">20 years". This *could* be considered an "express warranty" - which is a specific promise made, either written or spoken, that isn't included in a warranty document. So, the company could perhaps be on the hook for warranty for quite some time to come if that statement was ever tested.
While Soltaro doesn't offer a hybrid inverter as a stand-alone product any more, you can see brands/models available in Australia on SolarQuotes' hybrid inverter comparison table.
