Nice firm, room for improvement
I sought three quotes, two comparable utilising Deye batteries. I confused the two Deye quotes as the firms had similar names and the quote layout looked similar. It was my mistake, but I accepted the quote that had a 10 kW battery, whereas I was seeking a 15 kW battery. Ballarat Solar Company provided me with a revised quote for the bigger battery which was competitive. Then I realised that the inverter was too small, 5 kW for a 10 kW solar system. Ballarat Solar agreed that the inverter needed to be larger, otherwise the supply from our inverters would need to be reduced.In hindsight, I should have insisted on a site visit. I don't think we were on on the same wavelength. I did a Facetime showing my proposed layout and this helped to sort out the battery location. I did my best to make the installation easier by preparing the trenching and removing weatherboards. The work was completed over two days and seemed to go ok. The installers were polite and seemed competent. Other than the inpection, I have received no follow up contact. I still have many questions about how to maximise the efficiency of the system. An observation is that Ballarat Solar Company need one point of contact from quoting through to completion. I was confused as to who I should be talking to about different aspects of the job.
