Original Review on 06-04-2016:

I took note of your warnings and advices from your web sites to select a system that was able to respond to shade and variable conditions - I received seven quotes which provided different systems with similar pricing - the range of prices varied by less than $500 and I did not need performance for snow loadings but rather high temperatures and possible hail impact effects for continued life performance of the panels under Australian conditions

I was also keen to stay away from high voltages and a string system where I would have lost performance by variable shading across the panels - I have accepted the use of paired microinverters to optimise the individual panel output so that for 16 panels there are 8 microinverters located on the underside of the panels being shielded from the sun but still with adequate ventilation to improve the overall life span performance .

The system I have elected to use has also sought to maximise the sun loading by locating tilted panels facing to both the East and the West. The system is not visible to the street frontage so there is not a statement advertising the installation

I am now seeking to get real time indication of the performance of the panels for the amount of power being delivered to the GRID such that I can time my usage to when there is a significant flow to the grid and not pay grid charges for what is being used – i.e., I could time the AC usage or the washing machine/oven etc to when there is solar power being generated that is adequate to be able to run these appliances without grid charges – if I can gain real “flow” information then I might consider adding this to the installation – but none of the available electronics found thus far with a track history gives this as an option – I am still searching and remain optimistic that this will be found - I will then be able to read off a panel inside the house and know whether it is the right time to use my electrical equipment inside the house

8 months later we asked Graeme: "Are you happy with the performance of your system so far?"

It would have been of real value to have known from the outset that the solar panels cannot deliver power if there a mains outage - as a consequence it was a two stage installation of panels being installed and a subsequent battery backup installation to allow a stand alone situation when the grid was not available
Performance of the system has met all of my expectations with a 12 x 2V battery backup adequate for a complete backup overrnight without being restricted in what electrical equipment was being used ( TV, AV system and lighting, 2 fridges and other minor electrical equipment, microwave etc ) - Loss of grid power in this area does occur with storm damage to the grid
The Selectronic performance is easily monitored using my laptop to keep in touch with the daily state of the system - while this is not priced to reflect the daily costs from the grid the battery charge and status information of the overall system is appreciated

25 months later we asked Don: "Are you happy with the performance of your system so far?"

For a 2kW system on a very good day we produce about 12 kwh of energy. As I understand it this is about standard. So yes the system is performing to what i was led to believe.

The system has been very satisfactory
Some minor problems with the circuit breakers

They came out to check roof, + meter box . Then gave me Quote, which is not the cheapest, but I went them.

Then they did the installation + connect electrical grid. Their workmanship was neat and tidy.

It was only installed today; the meter goes in next week and I suppose it gets switched on soon after. I'll be in a better position to answer questions after I get my next power bill.
