Company Info
1KOMMA5° has its global headquarters in Hamburg, Germany. If you're scratching your head about the name, 1KOMMA5° represents "1.5 degrees". This refers to the Paris Climate Agreement goal of limiting global warming 1.5 degrees Celsius above pre-industrial level. So, why "komma"? In Germany, a comma is used as the decimal separator and a period (.) is used as a thousands separator; the opposite to countries where English is the primary language.
1KOMMA5° Solar Panels
The 1KOMMA5° full black monocrystalline solar module has an output of 425 watts. Featuring TOPCon technology, this panel achieves a module efficiency of up to 21.8%. The temperature coefficient (Pmpp - Temperature Coefficient of Maximum Power) is noted as -0.29%/°C, and power tolerance is 0 ~ +5 Wp.
These panels measure 1,722 x 1,134 x 30 mm and weigh 21.3kg.
The company started producing self-branded panels in late 2023, with deliveries kicking off in Europe. At the moment, 1KOMMA5° solar panels are still produced in Asia (China); although the polysilicon used in their manufacturing comes from Germany. This is sourced from Wacker Chemie sites in Burghausen and Nünchritz. 1KOMMA5° says it wants to establish its own production line with an annual capacity of 5 GW; either in Germany or another European country.
Warranty Information
1KOMMA5° offers a 25-year product and 30-year performance warranty on their panels. For the latter, there's a maximum power degradation of 1% allowed in the first year, with a maximum 0.4% from years 2 to 30.
