Deye is a Chinese company that, among other things, manufactures solar inverters and battery storage. They've been operating in Australia for several years and have had an Australian Business Number (ABN) since 2022, with an Australian office in Melbourne. Their batteries haven't been on the market for long, and so I haven't heard enough to recommend them one way or the other, but Deye definitely appears confident they'll become popular.

About Deye

The full name of Deye is Ningbo Deye Inverter Technology Co., Ltd. It was founded as Deye Technology Group in Ningbo, China, in 1990, but it didn't get started on solar technology until its subsidiary, Ningbo Deye Inverter Technology Co., Ltd. was founded in 2007 and started producing solar inverters. The battery side of its business started in 2020 when the Ningbo Deye Energy Storage Technology Co., Ltd. subsidiary was founded. This makes Deye's line of batteries, using battery cells purchased from other manufacturers.

Batteries

Deye has a range of batteries approved for use in Australia. These include low voltage home batteries, as well as higher voltage systems. Like almost all batteries currently on the market, they use lithium iron (LFP) battery cells. They sell all-in-one home battery units that contain a hybrid inverter as well as battery stacks that can be paired with Deye hybrid inverters.

Warranty Details

Deye typically provides a 10 year warranty for batteries, but be sure to check the warranty available on their website for the warranty length and conditions for the exact module of battery you're interested in.
