Buyer Beware

I signed a contract with 1KOMMA5 (Arkana Group) in January 2026 for a 42kWh battery and 15kW hybrid inverter, and paid the 10% deposit to begin the process. Installation was scheduled for the end of April before the Gov subsidies changed.

In March I was told in writing that the Energex grid-connection application was underway. When I followed up, it became clear the application had not in fact been submitted at that point. It was lodged in April, as an expedited request, on the same day I raised the prospect of contacting Fair Trading.

In May I received written confirmation that all stock was allocated and ready for my install. On the morning of the scheduled installation, after first being told installers were on the way I was told a critical component was unavailable nationally and the install could not proceed. Two scheduled installation dates passed without the system being installed.

Throughout, I sent multiple follow-up messages, most of which received no reply. As things stand, the system is not installed and I have decided to not proceed with 1KOMMA5.

In my experience, the communication and scheduling fell well short of what I was led to expect at signing. Based on what I’ve described, I can’t recommend them, and I’d encourage anyone considering a deposit to get firm, written commitments on timelines and stock before paying

Faultless service from start to finish.

Initial consultation was great, salesperson was polite, knowledgeable and patient. At no stage was there any pressure.
Installation went seamlessly. Both of the installers were helpful and worked tirelessly on a really hot day. They were on time and did exactly as promised. Customer service has been very good,
The only slight criticism would be that the wifi reporting has had a couple of glitches. Original ratings

10 months later we asked Karen: "Are you happy with the performance of your system so far?"

The system is performing to expectations. Unfortunately I feel that the power companies are letting customers down. Our feed in tariff has changed (not for the better), our consumption charges just keep going up and it seems we are being limited as to how much we feed in. Whilst our sales person did mention that our feed in tariffs may go down, there was no mention of the other charges changing. I certainly feel that the estimated time of our system paying for itself did not allow for any of these known issues.
