Company Information
Schneider Electric was established in 1836. Originally the company was operating in the shipping and heavy machinery market, steel and iron industry; then moved into weaponry, and then servicing the construction and electricity sectors.
Today, Schneider operates in a number of areas, including building and home automation, smart electrical networks supervision, energy control and monitoring, and power production and distribution.
In the photovoltaic sector, these days Schneider’s manufacturing lines specialise in the production of solar inverters for commercial and industrial applications, but it also manufactures hybrid inverters/inverter chargers for home use (previously it also manufactured standard residential string inverters).
Schneider Electric Inverters In Australia
There was once a wide range of Clean Energy Council approved Schneider solar inverters available in Australia. As at July 2025, only the following remain listed, but all have been discontinued:
- XW Pro 8548
- Conext MPPT 100 600
- Conext MPPT 80 600
The XW Pro 8548 was a solar hybrid inverter offering 6.8 kW continuous power, 8.5 kW power for 30 minutes and 12 kW power for 1 minute. The XW Pro worked with other Schneider solar products, including the Conext MPPT charge controllers. This product has been discontinued for the Australian market and its CEC listing expires in August 2025.
The Conext MPPT models were solar charge controllers allowing for PV array systems to be installed and connected to a battery bank. Neither are available in Australia any more and the CEC listing expires in September 2025.
Warranty Details
Schneider Electric provided a 5-year warranty with the Conext MPPT and XW Pro 8548. If you're an owner of any of these devices and you're having issues, your first stop should be the company that supplied and installed it. Failing that, contact Schneider using the details above for assistance.
