Company Info

HT-SAAE was established in 1960 to develop solar technology for China’s satellite program. In 2000, HT-SAAE began to transfer the technology it developed for space to commercial applications. The company achieved vertical integration production in 2012, and reached gigawatt annual production capacity in 2015.

HT Solar Energy J.S.C was established in 2016, in Istanbul, Türkiye as a subsidiary of HT-SAAE — and that's where the company carries out manufacturing. Today, HT Solar has approximately 500 employees and an annual solar module production capacity of 2 GW/Year.

HT-SAAE Solar Panels In Australia

HT-SAAE entered the Australian solar market in 2009.  The company has supplied solar panels of various technologies since that time, currently being primarily TOPCon single glass/double glass modules.

A check of the Clean Energy Council's approved products list in July 2025 indicated around 20 HT-SAAE models on the CEC list, meaning they are eligible for the national solar rebate and grid connection in Australia. These models range in capacity from 330 Watts to 630 watts. The models are from the following series:

  • HT40: Double glass TOPCon frameless (310-330 W, module efficiency up to 12.9%)
  • HT48: Double glass TOPCon frameless (375-395 W, module efficiency up to 15.4%)
  • HT54: Bifacial double glass TOPCon (425-445 W, front-face module efficiency up to 22.8%)
  • HT60: Double glass TOPCon (495-515 W, module efficiency up to 23.3%)
  • HT66: Double glass TOPCon (600-620 W, module efficiency up to 23%)

Note that the 600W+ panels aren't really suited to residential installations given their large size (2382mm x 1134mm x 35mm) and weight (33.5 kg). Some installers may (understandably) balk at the HT60 as well, which measures 1952mm x 1134mm x 30mm and weighs 27 kg. While offering far less conversion efficiency, the HT40 and HT48's are even bigger and heavier.

The HT54 would be considered the sweet spot for home installation. These panels measure 1722mm x 1134mm x 30mm and weigh 24 kilograms. The HT54 modules have a temperature coefficient of Pmax of -0.31%/C, which isn't great, but not shabby either.

Warranty Details

HT-SAAE solar panels were originally accompanied by a 10 year product warranty in Australia, but that was boosted to 12 years, then 25 years and again to 30 years depending on the model and year of manufacture. So, it will depend on when your panels were installed (and what model) as to whether they are still covered by product warranty. However, the panels are also covered by a performance warranty of 25 - 30 years, again depending on the model.

Note the warranty conditions make installing HT-SAAE panels a no-go less than 500 metres from the coastline.

If you're having issues with your HT-SAAE panels, it's best to first try contacting the company that imported/installed them as those parties have warranty responsibility. But failing that, you could contact SAAE in Australia via the details provided above.

They look fabulous - my roof is very obvious from the road and they are all-black and look rather swish.

As mentioned in the main review, these might be great panels but the pairing of these panels with the Enphase means neither the panels or microinverters are working to their full potential.
