Rimfire Energy and Rimfire Projects
In recent years, there have been significant changes to the energy market in the Northern Territory. Rimfire has been at the heart of those changes, offering a viable alternative to energy consumers in NT.
We are going to explore these changes, and Rimfire's role in them, in more detail below.
The Energy Market and the Emergence of Rimfire Energy
Rimfire paved the way for a far more competitive market for consumers. In 2014, Rimfire Energy entered the market and became NT's first real alternative energy provider. The market still lacks diversity, but the situation has improved for Territorians. Rimfire Energy emerged as a reliable alternative electricity provider, offering local businesses a choice in who they purchase their energy from.
There are now two electricity retailers serving Northern Territory's commercial energy consumers, and Rimfire is proud to offer NT's businesses the choice they deserve. This increased diversity also makes the market more competitive, achieving a better deal all around for consumers.
Rimfire Projects and the Premium Feed-in Tariff for the Solar Market
Australia offers many prime locations for solar power installation, thanks to its climate and its high levels of sunshine. This is fuelling the adoption of solar energy as a viable alternative energy source. Here in the Northern Territory, we are already seeing this shift in the way the local population accesses the electricity they need.
Even beyond NT, right across Australia, we are seeing significant growth in the installation of solar energy systems, both on commercial and residential properties. Rimfire Projects is helping to drive this growth and is providing installations in both sectors.
Solar energy offers a green alternative to traditional, coal-fired electricity production. It also helps homeowners and businesses reduce energy costs. Owners of solar energy systems can benefit from a feed-in-tariff, which involves "selling" excess energy back to the grid.
Despite recent changes in the market, Rimfire Projects continues to offer the one-for-one feed-in tariff, and it is now the only electricity retailer doing so.
There had been some confusion among consumers, who thought that Rimfire Projects changed their tariff from a one-for-one feed-in tariff to the Northern Territory Government-mandated standard tariff. However, this is not the case, as Rimfire continues to offer its premium feed-in tariff to consumers.

Outstanding
Rimfire sent me a quote for my solar it was not the cheapest but was the best systems on the market. After I meet with them I sign there and then on the dotted line to get it installed I was thinks about 12 weeks to get it in but no they were out in 2 days for sites inspection and the beging of following week the guys were out putting in the frames and then Friday system was in the work workmanship is amazing even the the company who came out to make sure it was done correctly said its a brilliant job. I highly rate rimfire to get your solar in they were ultimately professional for the first hello to them leaving my premisesInverter rating: 5/5

Still waiting on installation however everything so far has been courteous and professional.
Rimfire are switched on and prepared to take on the sluggish government provider. Awaiting the panel installation now however the great rates are locked in.01 February 2022
Very happy to get 1 for 1 price for PV power exported.
After Jacana discontinued their 1:1 offer for new PV installs, we weren't in a rush to get Solar panels installed. Then we heard Rimfire was still offering a 1 for 1 deal on PV power generated.The Rimfire sales consultant, Si Milner, was very helpful, and competent in answering queries, despite a few issues with the property. The PV panels and Inverter were installed as agreed, and this system has been generated free solar power ever since.
Very happy with having chosen Rimfire.

Great customer service and already making money off the solar
The sales team were great.The installation was done by a subcontractor who did a poor job but the rimfire team resolved the issues punctually and are no longer using those subcontractors. By the second electricity bill (monthly) I was already making money off the solar :) thank you

Installer with a different value proposition
I spoke to four different installers and they were all broadly in the same ballpark as to price and all appeared to offer good quality components (they're are all listed with solar-quotes). I chose Rimfire because they are an energy retailer and offered 1:1 FIT which I believe suits our requirements better.The sales person was knowledgeable and was able to answer all of my questions immediately and outlined the installation process and timeframes which were all met. The installation was completed in one day and after three months we are very happy with it. Monthly savings on our account are in line with Rimfires projections and we have already built up a healthy credit which we can draw down in cash whenever we wish. Highly recommended.

Good, honest and professional

Not oversold at offer but delivered beyond all expectations
Sales and quoting process started promptly well laid out but slowness with a couple of difficult issues that were questioned and eventually very clearly answered by Rimfire. The process for the three quotes was professional and prompt and Rimfire really only 'won' because of offered 'premium' energy package.Installation was excellent and associated informative discussions most helpful Rimfire seemed to have excellent working relations with building and electrical authorities and were able to secure permits and approvals rapidly Polite 5/5 Tidy 5/5 Punctual 5/5
Total customer service was excellent. Grid connection 5 days ago, have not received copies of permits design operational manuals etc yet delivery of which will be accompanied by invoice for final progress payment all well explained and implemented so far.

Rimfire Energy is a Great choice.
Great Customer Service and still offering the full price rebate for now. Installed without a hitch and generating about 20KW per day back into the system. They also organised my change to Rimfire as my Electricity supplier. They have only recently started supplying the domestic market and will also accept customers with existing Solar systems at the one for one rebate at the moment.05 April 2020
Inverter replaced
In spite of the fact that Rimfire did not install our system, when the installer deserted us and left us stranded without an inverter, Rimfire came to the rescue and got our inverter replaced under warranty. I wish I could Name our installer, because they REALLY let us down.Thank you Rimfire! Great assistance and excellent service!

Incompetent installer
Sales and quoting were good. Only one we contacted who used the camera on the roof to design the system. The installation was chaotic. The plan had changed and the panels were not installed in accordance with the building approval. They did not communicate with us effectively. The recitified installation was shoddy and not in accordance with either the Clenergy racking instructions nor workmanlike building practices. The installation would not have passed certification for cyclone standards and is being rectified tomorrow. I suggest you remove these people from you recommendation list if they continue to use the same installer.Supplier Reply:
