The takeup of the "don't install a battery yet" mantra seems strong among the sales people and objective consultants. I get that a battery will significantly reduce the ROI but there are plenty of more frivolous expenditures we readily dive into. Choosing to go panels plus battery opened up a $10,000 interest free state government loan and another $3,000 grant for our installation. Our initial outlay will be less than $3,000 for a 5kw inverter, 6.5kw panels and 9.8kwh GE battery. My personal opinion is that panels plus battery helps reduce the magniude of peak demand on our state power grid. This has to help reduce the argument for more fossil fuel power plants. I also believe that much of the anti battery rhetoric from sales is that these companies haven't forked out for the cost of accreditation to install battery systems.

The whole process has been seamless. The panels are in and I am delighted with the outcome. ASE were fantastic from start to finish. The “after sales†assistance has been spot on. I can’t recommend ASE highly enough.

I contacted Australian Sustainable Energy to provide a proposal and quote for the install of a residential solar system for our new home. I was immediately impressed with the level of customer service and quick proposal and quote received, which contained a few options and recommendations for consideration based on analysis of our location, energy billing and budget etc. Importantly the proposals also included additional information about STC federal government rebates available, the best positioning of the system, recommended system to install and why (quality of technology etc panels and inverter), financial return on investment analysis and also how they would manage safety during the install process. As the system has been operating for some time now we have certainly enjoyed the benefits of installing this system at our home. This has resulted in significant energy bill savings for us, for example last quarter we received a rebate of +$8 from the energy utility and the quarter before that we only paid about $11. I would certainly use Australian Sustainable Energy again and I would recommend them to anyone (and I certainly do so already). I think everyone should have solar as the financial return on investment is a no-brainer and not to mention the emissions reductions that come from harnessing the energy of the natural sun!
