Unicorn-level value, tidy install, and backup that actually works - Dan the Man
Installed Sept 2024 in Thornlie, WA: 11.44kW solar with 10kWh battery storage and blackout protection by Natures Spark Electrical. The headline is value. I paid $10,000 all up (after STCs) and this was BEFORE the WA Residential Battery Scheme and the federal Cheaper Home Batteries Program were available from 1 July 2025.I obtained multiple quotes first, including three through SolarQuotes, plus a well-known local installer. All were far more expensive for a comparable solar plus battery outcome, and none were willing to offer a cheaper alternative configuration that still included a battery. My experience with those other quotes was dismissive. Natures Spark/Dan were the opposite. They worked with my budget and did not use pressure tactics or upselling.
Quoting and design: started remotely using satellite imagery and a panel layout plan. Export limits and expectations were explained. Performance assumptions were not exaggerated.
Installation and workmanship: on time, neat cabling and conduit, switchboard left clean and clearly labelled. The first day was rainy and windy so they returned the next morning to finish, with no extra cost. More than a year later, including severe storms, there have been no roof issues.
Admin, handover, and support: they handled the network approval process, set up monitoring, explained shutdown and startup, and helped with warranty registration. When I have contacted them, replies were same day. They take ownership within their scope and involve the manufacturer when it is outside installer scope.
Performance: I am a heavy user (historically around $10 to $12 per day, roughly $300 per month). Since installation, bills have been extremely low. My last bill was $15 including the daily supply charge, and I am trending toward credit. The north plus west layout has been helpful for afternoon production and export. The blackout backup has also been a game changer. When the grid goes down, most of my house keeps running and I often do not even notice the outage. We have kept appliances running, lights and power points, fridge, freezer, microwave, kettle, washing machine, dryers, garage door, tv, CCTV, internet, and even two split-system air conditioners during outages, which is exactly what I wanted.
Return customer: I trusted them enough to come back in Aug 2025 to add another 10kWh of battery, taking me to 20kWh total once the 2025 rebates were available....and the upgrade was excellent value once the 2025 rebates were available.
Overall, this installer has been outstanding. Exceptional value for money, boringly professional workmanship, and responsive after-sales support. I have referred Natures Spark Electrical to friends and family, and they have gone ahead with installs as well because this kind of value is genuinely rare.
This is one of those rare cases where 5 stars feels like an understatement for this business.

Company was recommended by the friend of mine and now I do recommend them to each and everyone I know. I has opportunity to work with Nature Spark on 4 solar/batteries installations on my properties. Installations was done withing 3 years time span and all of them was completed perfect, tidy and in time. if any issues was raised later (not because of the installation, just technical related) all of them were resolved very fast with no problems.Summary - highly recommended.

Daniel provided a reasonable quote. No BS. No pressure sales tactics. Just honest professional opinions. He listened to requests and accommodated where feasible and practical.Installation was a breeze and he’s the tidiest tradesperson I’ve ever engaged.

From the initial contact right through to completion of the installation, Dan was fantastic to deal with. Communication was clear and professional at every stage, and the work was carried out to an exceptionally high standard.
