Company Info

Established in 1997, Sungrow is one of the world's largest solar inverter manufacturers, so it's not surprising the company has expanded into the home EV charger market. The only surprise is that it took the firm a while to do so, with its first device launched in 2022.

Sungrow EV Chargers In Australia

Sungrow has been pretty slow in making its home EV chargers in Australia, but that's set to change in 2025.

AC007E-01/AC011E-01

The company's first devices for home use were the AC007E-01 (single-phase 7kW) and the AC011E-01 (three-phase 11kW) initially released in 2022.  They support smart charging and a scheduling function that can be monitored and managed via Sungrow's iSolarCloud platform when paired with one of the company's hybrid inverters. The AC007E-01 and AC011E-01 are OCPP 1.6 compatible, and are supplied with a 7m tethered cable..

The devices measure 205 x 310 x 92 mm and weigh 4.2 kg (7kW) 3.8 kg (11kW). They have an IP65 rating, so suitable for installation outdoors, and an operating temperature range of -30°C to 50°C

These chargers appear to have been geared towards the European market and while a few Australian vendors list the AC011E-01, all show it being out of stock. It's not clear if it has ever been available here or ever will be. As for the AC007E-01, we haven't seen it advertised here.

But wait, there's more.

AC22E-01

It's a different story for the AC22E-01 home EV charger, which will *definitely* be available in Australia from June 2025.  This EV charger offers 22 kW or 11 kW on a three-phase connection and up to 7.4kW on single phase.

Sungrow says it will maxise solar energy usage, has load management and balancing capabilities, and various charging modes, but these advanced features are only supported - at least initially - when paired with Sungrow hybrid inverters via iSolarCloud, the company's monitoring platform.

The AC22E-01 supports various options for authentication including RFID-card, the iSolarCloud App or iEnergy Charge App, and is capable of OCPP 1.6 communication.

The AC22E-01 has an IP65 rating, an operating ambient temperature range of -30°C to 50°C, measures 214 mm x 346 mm x 125 mm and weighs 6.65 kilograms. It comes with a 5m tethered cable as standard, or an optional 7m cable.

Warranty Details

The AC007E-01/AC011E-01 have a warranty of 2.5 years as standard or 5 years optional. The AC22E-01 reportedly has a warranty of 3 years, but we're yet to see an Australian warranty document.
