Matt and his team were on time and superior efficient and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. As a sparky myself I'm probably not the best customer as I like things done properly, these guys were awesome!
Beforehand any questions i had were answered perfectly, they were very nice to deal with and the install is great. They left the site assessment they found it too which is great!

The team did not know what they were doing
Here’s a refined version that keeps the review factual and credible while preserving the strength of your experience:Charged Up was one of Intellihub’s preferred installers in the Hunter region and was assigned to install a Sungrow inverter and battery system at my property.
The sales process was handled by Intellihub and was quite transparent. They were responsive to my questions, accommodating of my requirements, and moved the project to installation reasonably quickly.
Unfortunately, my experience with Charged Up after that was very different.
What went well:
- The initial site visit, arrival of the team on installation day, and speed of installation were all commendable.
- The team completed the physical installation relatively quickly.
Where things went wrong:
- The aesthetic quality of the installation was quite poor. The bollards weren’t aligned properly and the batteries weren’t centered.
- There was no proper handover after installation. The team appeared to be in a hurry to leave and didn’t walk me through the basic dos and don’ts of the installed system.
- There was no guidance on what to do in the event of a circuit overload or trip.
- There was no walkthrough of the mobile app or initial setup. It isn’t particularly difficult to configure, but a five-minute handover would have been appreciated.
The biggest issue, however, was the way the system had been wired. For reasons that weren’t initially clear, electricity I was feeding back into the grid was being recorded as grid consumption, on top of the electricity I was actually drawing. In effect, I was being charged by my energy retailer for electricity I was exporting.
This resulted in another three visits from different members of the Charged Up team, without the underlying problem being resolved. During those visits, I was given different explanations for the issue—from the original wiring of the house to communication from Intellihub, and even my own understanding of how the electrical system worked.
One of the main installation technicians, who I believe was named Luke, came across as quite condescending when I asked for an explanation of what was causing the issue. Across the follow-up visits, the technicians also spent considerable time on calls with Sungrow Support trying to diagnose the problem.
Eventually, I contacted Intellihub directly about the ongoing issue. One of their technicians, Louis, attended and resolved the problem within approximately two hours.
Based on my experience, the initial installation was quick, but the quality control, system commissioning, customer handover, troubleshooting and after-sales support from Charged Up fell well short of what I would expect from a professional installer.
Given the seriousness of the wiring issue and the repeated unsuccessful attempts to resolve it, I wouldn’t recommend Charged Up based on my experience.
