With roots in the energy industry dating back to 2009, our owner, Troy Coburn, has seen the solar industry evolve and knows that now, more than ever, a smart solar decision can power your home for decades. Formerly known as Daniel Shea Electrical; Solar, we rebranded and updated our ABN in 2024. Professional from Sales to Installation

Spoke with Troy regarding my requirements for 6.6kW Solar System. Went through options I had for panels and Inverters and Design which was easy to understand and was quick to reply to questions I had. Installation crew were punctual having travelled two hours from Gladstone and performed the installation like a professional outfit should.
Electrician explained how inverter worked and set up Isolar app for me. Overall very pleased with the installation outcome.

Great Service, Great Product

Troy came out specifically to have a look at our set up because it was a bit of a different job - he gave us his thoughts, provided a quote quickly, made arrangements for our booking to be in so we could get started as soon as the electricity was hooked up and his team completed the job in a couple of business days due to weather. Very happy with the system, price and service - and we got a free Fire Barbie thanks to falling into the allotted time for his giveaway.

Exceptional Service

Reef solar and Electrical provided a perfect bespoke 20kW 3-phase system

Reef Solar & Electrical provided great customer service, our commercial retail shop had a good size roof and we wanted a 20kW system with a three phase inverter to maximise and use the full 15kW QLD solar feed-in tariff yield.

Troy the owner spent a great of time and care to ensure we achieved the best solar panel configuration for our retail shop roof, we wanted the panels to look symmetrical neat and professional which is what we got.

The 3-Phase 20kW inverter was mounted inside and very neatly tied into out existing distribution board.

I’m an electrical engineer and know what good work looks, for me to be happy the workmanship needs to be top notch.

I would have no hesitation in recommending Reef Solar & Electrical to anyone wanting either a home or commercial solar system installation.

Great experience from start to finish

The Reef Solar team was great to work with and the new system was installed with no dramas and looks to be working beautifully! Although the system has only been in for two weeks and we have had some very cloudy days here in CQ, my monthly power bill has been reduced by over $100 for the two weeks since installation (system was up and running on Thurs 20th March, and my first bill came today on 3rd April).

Excellent from start to finish

Spoke with Troy with regards to solar after I enquired through SolarQuotes. I told him what we required and what we were going to do further down the track, re batteries, he sent me quotes with and without batteries. We discussed the options after the quotes came through then scheduled to have the system installed end of March. Due to the rain the installation took two days. The teams that arrived on both days were very friendly, professional and cleaned up after themselves also. We are very happy with the system installation. Will now wait to see what our next power bill be in 3 months time.

Fantastic install and after support care

Troy and his team at Reef Solar and Electrical has been nothing short of fantastic.
From the initial quote and the time Troy took to speak with myself and husband to the install day was all seamless, prompt and professional.

Any issues that arose were handled with care and great communication.

Great team and service from a local company

We contacted Reef Solar after observing them install solar across the road from us. From the get go I found Troy and the team very approachable and informative about all aspects of solar. The quoting process was simple and the team arrived on time and tidied up well after themselves. The process did take a day longer than originally expected due to wiring being a little more difficult to install through the top storey of our two storey house. I did have to contact them to find out when they were due back the next week but once they set a day and time they stuck to it and had the job completed. Troy also followed up the next week to see that every thing was going to plan and ensure we didn’t have any questions. All in all the process from start to finish was quite simple and I’d recommend Reef Solar to anyone looking for great service from a local team.

Fantastic All Round

I was replacing my current system and requested a quote, Reef Solar phoned me within 30 minutes. While on the phone, Reef Solar emailed me a diagram of what my roof would look like with the solar panels installed.

Before accepting the quote, I had quite a few questions about the panels, cost and install. Troy answered my questions and was patient.

I was kept in the loop of when the install would happen. The installer phoned me with approximate time they would be at the premises. Cyclone Alfred was hovering off the coast and this could have delayed the install.

Reef Solar has fantastic customer service and I recommend them to anyone looking at new solar or replacing. They also install outside of Gladstone.

Very professional

Troy and his team were both friendly and professional throughout the entire process of installing our system. From giving a quote to completing the installation they were very helpful. They worked incredibly hot days but still completed the job in very good time.

After the installation was completed we had a problem with the system (this was not the fault of the system or the installers.) We contacted Troy and he was able to pinpoint the problem quickly. The problem was that we had changed our Internet password so needed to update the password on our device. Troy sent us information to for this and offered to come out to our place if we were unable to fix it. He was very pleasant and knowledgeable.

They are very good at what they do. I certainly recommend them to anyone.

Super Happy with the System
