Queensland’s top-rated solar installer has held onto the crown for another year, while two new names have moved into the runner-up positions.
It’s part of SolarQuotes’ annual state installer awards, based on customer ratings and reviews submitted over the past year.
Here are Queensland’s top three for 2026.
The winners were determined using a weighted calculation of customer reviews published on the SolarQuotes website. This gives smaller companies with fewer reviews a fair chance against their bigger rivals.
All Queensland installer listings are included, not just companies in the SolarQuotes installer network.
First Place – Reef Solar & Electrical
Reef Solar & Electrical has done it again, taking out the Queensland title for the second year running.
The family-owned business is based in the Gladstone region and has roots in the energy industry stretching back to 2009. Formerly Daniel Shea Electrical & Solar, the business was rebranded as Reef Solar & Electrical in 2024.
Reef installs solar, batteries, EV chargers and heat pump hot water systems across Central Queensland, using its own team of electricians and apprentices rather than subcontracting installations.
SolarQuotes asked owner Troy Coburn what he thought had helped Reef hold onto the top spot.
“We don’t believe in high-pressure sales. We take the time to educate our customers, understand what they actually need and recommend the right system for their home.”
Coburn says that customer focus continues through the installation and after-sales support.
“Just as importantly, our installations are completed by our own local team, not subcontractors, and we place a huge emphasis on quality workmanship, communication, and leaving every customer genuinely happy with the job.”
Reef’s recent customer reviews provide some good examples of what that looks like in practice.
Daniel had a 13.3 kW solar system installed while his house was still under construction. He wasn’t at the property on installation day, so installer Aidan called before starting to confirm where Daniel wanted the inverter located.
“I really appreciated that attention to detail rather than simply making the decision himself.”
Johan’s experience tested Reef’s after-sales service rather more directly when his inverter developed a fault. He said Reef identified the problem and replaced the inverter the following day.
“Very efficient and communication was great. Had a defective inverter identified by the team, and they replaced it the next day. Absolutely awesome service.”
It’s much the same combination of customer education, local installers, communication, and after-sales support that Reef highlighted when it won Queensland last year. And judging by this year’s reviews, not much has changed.

Second Place – Isolated Electrical QLD
Second place goes to Isolated Electrical QLD, a relatively young Brisbane business making its first appearance in the Queensland top three.
Electricians Mitchell Bradbury and Dieter Becker established the company in 2024 after working together for more than six years. Both completed their apprenticeships with a Brisbane solar installer before eventually starting their own business.
Based in Clayfield, Isolated Electrical installs solar and battery systems, EV chargers, and heat pump hot water systems. The company describes its approach simply as providing high-quality work at a fair price.

Third Place – Quality Solar Systems
This year’s third place goes to Quality Solar Systems.
Based in Mansfield, Brisbane, the Australian-owned company installs grid-connect and off-grid solar, batteries, EV chargers, and heat pump hot water systems.
Its recent reviews frequently highlight communication, system design, and workmanship. Customers appreciate the company’s willingness to inspect their property and tailor a system rather than simply providing a remote quote.

Reef Heads Back To The National Final
Winning Queensland puts Reef Solar & Electrical in the running for the 2026 SolarQuotes Best Installer in Australia award for the second year running.
The state and territory winners will collect their trophies at SolarQuotes Installer Night at Melbourne’s Showtime Events Centre on October 27, the evening before All-Energy Australia.
