Geelong Coast Electrical is a locally owned solar, battery and electrical business based in Point Lonsdale, serving Geelong, the Bellarine Peninsula and the Surf Coast. We took over the operations of Sunny Solar in May 2025 and still run the same in-house crew, with the same commitment to every customer Sunny Solar looked after.
We don't employ salespeople. The qualified installer who comes out, assesses your roof and writes your quote is the same person who installs the system. That means you get a straight answer about what your home actually needs, not a pitch for the biggest system we can sell you — and because there's no sales commission built into the price, our quotes are generally very competitive.
We start by understanding how your household uses energy and what you want to get out of the change: lower bills, blackout backup, getting off gas, or all three. Then we design around that, using quality panels, inverters and batteries, sized to suit your roof, your shading and your consumption. We quote with full home electrification in mind, so if swapping gas hot water for a heat pump or adding an EV charger makes sense down the track, you'll know how it fits before you commit to anything.

Aftercare is a big part of what we do, not an afterthought. We handle the paperwork, certifications and grid approvals from the first visit through to switch-on, then stay available for servicing and support afterwards. Every installation carries a five-year workmanship guarantee, and regular servicing helps protect your manufacturer warranties and keeps your system generating at its best for decades.

Very pleased with the service and end result

Matt was very prompt and easy to deal with. He explained everything in full detail, his quote was very professional and extremely detailed. When the team installed the new system they were very polite, obviously very knowledgeable and they even cleaned the whole site inside and out when the job was finished. Local Provider
Wonderful working with Sunny Solar, a local company that has met all my needs. From the visit by Rick who runs the team that installed the system to the administration team who completed all the paperwork required after the install. The company worked with me to arrange installation of the system in conjunction with having a new roof istalled prior to the solar. They attended to decommission my old system and then reattened once the roof was installed without any additional cost. A piece of the ridging was damaged during the install. However, I was impressed with the honesty of Sunny Solar who contacted the roofer and advised this needed to be repaired and reduced the cost of the repair from my overall cost. The Powercore inspector quickly signed off on the install and commented on the quality of the work completed by Sunny Solar compared to other installations he has seen. Is reassuring to know I have dealt with and supported a local company and electricians.Inverter rating: 5/5

Smooth & Efficient
All three installation companies sent reps on site to quote for our 6.6kw system. After receiving the quotes I created a spreadsheet to compare like for like system quotes. I contacted all three again before selecting Sunny Solar for the job. They weren’t the cheapest but felt they had my long term needs in mind and were the only ones to offer a new switchboard, instead of an add-on, which made the decision easier. We chose their recommended Trina solar panels and Sungrow inverter. Sales rep Mark was also most helpful assisting with black framed panels and rails to give us a matching finish on our black tiled roof. Kirsten contacted me several times to confirm dates and times, as did Rick and his team of installers re arrival time on the day and I was aware of every step of the installation Rick showed me how to i use the iSolar app which gives live info of energy being generated and used. The job was completed safely with no mess left behind. Overall the whole team at Sunny Solar were a pleasure to deal with and I have no hesitation recommending them to anyone on the Bellarine looking to install a solar panel system.
Couldn't be happier with the entire process
I couldn’t be happier with the work Matthew from Geelong Coast Electrical did installing our large solar system, including the battery and inverter.From the start, Matthew took the time to properly explain all the different options available to us. He didn’t just push us towards the most expensive setup either. He went through the pricing, explained the pros and cons of the different services and options, and helped us work out what actually made sense for our home and our needs.
The installation itself was handled really well, and Matthew was happy to explain things along the way and answer questions as they came up. It was obvious he knew what he was doing and took pride in getting everything set up properly.
We had received a few other quotes before going ahead, and Matthew’s price was more competitive than the others, which was a big plus. Even better, the support hasn’t stopped now that the installation is finished. He has been available to provide technical help while we’ve been getting used to the new system and program, and has been punctual and easy to deal with whenever we’ve needed assistance.
Overall, really happy with the service and the system. I’d have no hesitation recommending Matthew and Geelong Electrical to anyone considering solar, a battery or an inverter.
