Greenultimate Pty Ltd has been designing, engineering and installing solar PV systems since 2010.

We are a Clean Energy Council accredited member, providing residential, commercial and government solar and battery solutions across NSW, ACT,NT, WA and SA. Since inception, Greenultimate has completed over 50MW of installed solar capacity, generating more than 20 million kWh of clean energy for our customers. Our project portfolio spans homes, schools, aged care facilities, hotels, motels, farms, retailers and major public infrastructure — including the solar installation at Sydney Olympic Park's Genea Netball Centre.

We employ over 50 staff and contractors across our Services and Projects business units, with local offices and representatives in metro and regional areas including Blacktown, Macquarie Park, Darwin, Canberra, Adelaide, Perth, Moree and Broken Hill — allowing us to service both major cities and remote/outback communities that many providers overlook.

Greenultimate and their Subcontractors

I initially thought the sales quoting process was going well, until I had the installation, installed up and going.

First Solar Installer turned up on a Saturday morning, which I was notified they would be coming. They were from Canberra. The Greenultimate salesperson indicated a cherry picker may be required for the Northwest facing 45° pitch roof. The roof installer was dictating to me where solar panels would be placed, then reduced the number of panels from 22 to 14 that would be installed. The quote signed with the salesperson was for 22 panels. This I had already discussed with the salesperson. Never saw the roof installer again. 1 down, more to come.

Another roof installer turned up the following day, Sunday, late afternoon, from Campbelltown. I had no confirmation this roof installer was coming. This installer listened carefully to what I had discussed with the salesperson, agreed with me, indicated he would be back. Never saw that roof installer again. 2 down, more to come.

The following Saturday another roof installer turned up, no cherry picker, from Sutherland Shire. No notification they were coming. Listen to what I had discussed with the solar salesperson, proceeded to go ahead in 80 to 90 kilometre an hour winds, a very blustery day. This installer used a harness to place the railings in place on the high pitch roof. All the railings were in place on all parts of the different facing roof parts, when the rain started and it was called quits for the day.

They came back the following day Sunday very early, no problem with that, started installing the solar panels, first on the high pitch roof, then the other parts of the roofing. Another windy day, not as bad as the day before. This installer would discuss changes to what I had discussed with the salesperson with me, before making any changes. I was always willing to listen, me being the novice, they have the experience. The details were discussed in language that I could understand and reason with. Installation for solar panels finished. 3 down, more to come.

Two weeks later an electrician came from St Clair NSW, to install the battery and connect the wiring to the power board and from the roof installation. No correspondence they were coming. The electrician claimed he was told it would be a simple installation. On looking at the job they alleged Greenultimate had not told them the truth. They decided to go ahead with the job. Was the job finished, no?

Solar up and running, yes. 4 down, more to come.

Greenultimate salesperson turns up about 3 weeks later, asked was I happy. I advised, no I was not. The salesperson tried to state details, I could not reason with, and I told them so. First, the salesperson claimed, I would be able to cook all night, at quote time, on battery charge, (I bake cakes pies etc for my market stalls). I have not seen a fully charged battery since installation.

The battery starts sending electricity to the grid at nighttime. I start to cook at midnight. By then the battery is at 10% charge, empty. The salesperson response, start cooking in the daytime, it will have a full charge during summer. I indicated that is only 3 months of the year. That means for 9 months I am still heavily relying on the grid.

I indicated needs more solar panels installed. The salesperson indicated no point just having more panels selling power to the grid. Your solar installation was based off your electricity bill, Average kWh per day of 40, I have cooked in the day when required. By nighttime there is little charge in the battery.

I advised the power board installation has not been completed. The power points and garage power are on protected circuit. The house lights and control load (Hot water) are not on protected circuit. Power for these two comes from the grid. The electrician at installation asked about the hot water being on control load. I advised no point having hot water on control load, when it can feed off installed solar. They disconnected the control load.

I was always going to have the power board upgraded, due to it being an asbestos board. I also told the salesperson all of everyone’s solar installations in the district was delivered to my address, solar installers were coming day and night taking away what they needed. There are 22 solar panels still here, and an inverter.

The salesperson said I could have two panels for free, for my food van, for having all the solar on my premises. There is someone over at Taralga who can do an installation for the food van. There will be someone here next week to remove the solar panels and the inverter. That was in the week before the October long-weekend. 3 weeks later it is still here.

What did I do? I believe the solar salesperson based the installation on their training of, Average kWh per day being 40. Whilst in theory this may be correct in many instances, I believe in this instance it is not working for my installation, not having seen a fully charged battery. One must go outside the square thinking and install more solar panels. I have now taken 10 all up solar panels for installation on my roof, I have the space. I will pay for the extra 8; having been told I can have two free.

I love to install another battery section, so I can cook mainly at night on battery. I will wait until the salesperson makes contact again, give them the opportunity to do the extra solar installation. If the opportunity is not taken up, I will look for another solar installer.

My Energy Retailer phoned me to come and do whatever they do. I was advised it would cost me $3.21. If for any reason the work cannot be completed it will cost me over $108. I advised the power board is an asbestos. They said they will not come until the power board has been upgraded. I been advised I need a Level 2 electrician. A local electrician advertised on Facebook. I sent them a message I was looking for a Level 2 Electrician. I have not had a response. I guessing it is due to the absorbs board in place.

Honestly I didn’t have funds to buy solar & batteries. I contacted them with a friend's recommendation. Rep from Greenultimate explained me about incentives and interest free loan from NSW government. I am in credit now and can’t be happier.

Fantastic Service

Adam was very polite and easy to talk to.
Explained everything properly. Set up a payment plan that has kept our energy expense below it was before solar. Now getting batteries from Adam.

Adam visited us every 6 months to check our system since 2018. He has kept us updated with current rebates & VPPs.

Fantastic installer and a job well done.

We got our 48 kwh Fox ESS battery installed just before 1 May 2026. Hashim is great in explaining different options available to us just two weeks before 1 May 2026. He is very responsive to our queries and very effective in organising the installation on time. The installer did an excellent job as shown in the picture. Stay clear of Green Ultimate

I had a relatively painless experience through the sales and installation process. However, when the system didn’t appear to be working and they failed to initiate my app so I couldn’t check, my pain began. To describe Green Ultimate’s customer service as appalling would be an understatement. I called the office 6 times over a two month period and each time the office assured me that someone would contact me to work through the problem, I never received a call back. I also sent them two emails seeking assistance in fixing the system, I didn’t receive a reply to either email.

The problem is fixed now, however,I greatly regret engaging the services of Green Ultimate and write this review as a cautionary tale - don’t go anywhere near Green Ultimate!

Stay away - power bill over tripled

Walli at Greenultimate Broken Hill was extremely friendly when selling the product, we have had both battery and solar for over 6 months, neither have worked,. The company never comes through, I have spoken to fair trading and will be in touch again this coming week. High alert - won't respond. Greenultimate if I could give less than 1 I would.

All good solar system

Got a quote for a 6.6 solar system approx 6 years ago. Friendly people, good quote. Got system installed - it's been going good for 6 years and has not missed a beat. Rang them about a solar battery installation, very helpful, set up payment plan.
System was installed 4 weeks ago, very professional installers, friendly and helped me set up app.system - it's going great no problems and will use them again for any solar systems.
