Happy with my low bills
I had my system installed in 2022 and have been overall very happy with the system and Plico’s support. The installers were fantastic and showed me how the system and backup works. Used the app a lot in the early days. My house was up to 99% self sufficient in summer and power bills are in credit. The system had a few wifi connectivity issues but these were resolved. System was working fine in the background though, just had limited visibility at times.Moved house recently and have gone back to Plico for a second system.

Awful experience
After six months of waiting, we are now engaging another supplier to install our solar system. That should tell you everything you need to know about Plico.I would strongly encourage anyone considering a solar system to look elsewhere. Our experience has been extremely disappointing. Plico’s sales process was smooth, and the salespeople were good at making commitments about timelines and communication. However, once everything was signed, the experience changed completely.
We signed up in December 2025, with the paperwork finalised in January 2026. Since then, there has been very little meaningful communication. I have called and emailed repeatedly, and on multiple occasions their contact centre staff have promised that someone would call me back with an update. Those promised return calls have not happened.
This has now dragged on for more than six months, with no clear explanation, no reliable updates and no meaningful progress. I have followed up every couple of weeks for the past three months, but still have not received a proper response.
We are now looking at engaging another supplier to provide and install a solar system at our home. It is extremely frustrating to have wasted this much time waiting for Plico to do something as basic as return a phone call.
Based on our experience, I would not recommend Plico.

The worst quoting experience in my lifetime
Attempted to go with Plico to obtain a home battery. We have an existing SolarEdge and Canadian Solar Panel (6.72kWh) system that is still performing really well, but apparently cannot be combined easily with any batteries. Plico recommended an 5kWh AlphaESS hybrid inverter and a 20kWh battery of the same brand to replace the existing inverter and also replace all our solar panels (even though they are only 8 years old) with new Jinko solar models to increase peak production to 8kWh.Was all going fine until our first salesman left the company. Then went through four others.
The quote was changed to a lower capacity battery due to unknown reasons.
Then they refused to come for a site visit to properly understand the extent of the work required. Originally they wanted a $230 site visit fee, then claimed they couldn’t do them because all their 'installers' were busy. Then eventually looked at my address and realised they had a salesman that lived in the same estate.
When he came around and conducted the inspection he wanted me to contact the original installer of my existing Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment (EVSE) (myenergi zappi charger and harvi passive wireless current monitor) to reconnect the CT clamps that are currently connected to the grid and solar input tails of the existing inverter, which the zappi requires to read the solar and grid production, and manage its grid current draw, and enables the ability to draw exclusively from the exported solar production.
Without these the risk of overloading the three-phase breakers is increased and the EV charger won’t work correctly. As an existing appliance, they refused to articulate to me the technical reasons why they couldn’t do it.
When presented with extensively researched OEM and site specific data attempting explain the whys and technical information for there installers (to make their job easier) and to clearly articulate my concerns with not correctly integrating all the existing appliances (that were already in place at the outset of the discussion), the sales team continued to refuse to correctly quote for the additional work (which I was prepared to pay for) to rearrange the Main Switch Board circuits to avoid overloads and to remediate their intended disconnection and islanding of my EVSE.
After threatening to refer them to the CEC for their behaviour, (in spite of all my attempts to contact previous installers of the EVSE, supplying OEM information on the charger and reaching out to the OEM for assistance) I was contacted by their Sales Manager who attempted to ‘manage my expectations’, however was still unable to provide clear explanation as to why the EVSE was beyond their capability to reintegrate (which cannot possibly be the case if they are employing the claimed licensed electrical technicians).
He did indicate that he’d explore alternative options for inverters that included the capability for an EVSE such as Sigenergy, however I then received an email from the salesperson who conducted the site visit withdrawing from all arrangements.
When I attempted to contact them to clarify if they were still going to provide me with the quote related to the more capable Sigenergy system I did not receive a response.
Overall extremely disappointed and frustrated with the only non-government owned VPP provider in the state. The whole experience has like banging my head against a brick wall.
EDIT: Responding Pilco's comments on my Google review. I have received the quote for the Sigenergy 20kWh with the additional AC-coupled EVSE.
I have responded to your salesman reiterating my initial request to be quoted for a a bi-directionally capable, DC-coupled EVSE. If we are adding a second EVSE, to the home, there is little point to us installing a second AC EVSE. From a future-proofing perspective if noting else, the additional expense needs to be worth while. This was not provided nor subsequently amended. The quote was also exorbitantly more expensive (in increase of $20,000!). Frankly, I dodged a bullet with not going with Plico.

From what you’ve described, your system is more complex than a typical installation, particularly with the existing SolarEdge setup, three-phase configuration, and EV charger integration. These factors can introduce technical and compliance constraints around how we design and install systems, especially where third-party equipment is involved.
That said, we clearly fell short in how we managed your experience. The multiple changes in sales contacts, lack of clarity around design changes, and delays with the site visit are not the standard we aim to deliver, and we understand how this led to confusion and disappointment.
The alternative system we proposed was intended to provide a workable path forward, but we recognise it didn’t meet your expectations in either design approach or value.
While there are cases where we’re unable to proceed due to technical or scope limitations, we should have communicated this more clearly and consistently throughout.
We appreciate the time and effort you put into this process and wish you all the best moving forward.

Do not use Plico
Absolutely the worst company I have ever had dealings with. Do not sign up with them. Appalling after service thats if you can get any. About to report them to Consumer Protection Agency. I want the system removed and I want my money back.Supplier Reply:

Diabolically bad do not go anywhere near Plico
I can’t warn people enough about not signing up with Plico. They are a dream to deal with while you are signing up…and then they are absolutely diabolical to deal with if you have any issues at all. They do not answer phones calls. They do not reply to emails. They leave you with a battery that isn’t configured properly and ignore all your contacts requesting rectification. It’s what nightmares are made of. Wonderful concept, appalling implementation. I don’t know how many hours of my life I’ve wasted trying to get issues resolved and site visits organised and we STILL do not have a properly configured battery. My friend spent six months trying to get her batteries replaced….six months!! Her friend has had issues with them too. It’s never ending. In hindsight I wish I had just got a green loan myself and sourced the solar and batteries myself. It’s a non-stop headache I don’t need, dealing with Plico. Thinking of Batteries for solar, A 1. Go that extra mile with Pilco
Was mindful that a 10kw battery would be ok for my house needs but after speaking with Kiri, and looking at the cost to go that little bit bigger, I have found everything, tip top. From the quote, to the installation.It all came together fairly quickly. And we are 98% self-sufficient now, But we are now aware when to use the system to save money on power,

Love my Plico solar & battery - esp. for EV charging!
Had a Plico Energy rooftop solar & battery installed in 2020. No big up-front cost: mobilization fee was $270 with weekly payments for 10y, started $36/wk indexed now at $41/wk. Sales and installation went smoothly and happy with long term service too - one of the batteries was replaced last year, a bit slow due to some logistical issues but Plico gave me a slightly bigger replacement to compensate. I have been very happy with the performance of the system, as battery provides enough for my overnight use, so am close to 100% renewable, even with heat pump and EV (not from Plico). Love charging EV from my solar by scheduling topup charges during daylight hours! Photos show system performance across year and week - EV charging today spiking up solar consumption.Panel rating: 5/5

Disappointed
We had panels and batteries installed 4 years ago and I have raved about Plico to everyone at every opportunity. Living in the country we get frequent power cuts and having the battery was amazing. It also cut our power bills radically. Unfortunately, all good things come to an end. One of our batteries "died" nearly three months ago and a couple of lads were sent out to remove it advising the other three would cope with requirements. They don't. And now the panels don't seem to be generating properly either. A new battery was promised and then...nothing. No communication. No email keeping us up to date or giving us a timeframe. No response to my email. Just silence. If installations are still happening I would think a replacement battery could be sourced....I'm about to cancel the direct debit to see if that makes a difference in the lack of communication.Panel rating: 3/5

Appalling project management, damaged my credit rating, and zero communication.
UPDATE (June 2026): 5-Star ResolutionI am completely updating my experience with Plico to a 5-star rating following an incredible turnaround by their management team. What defines an organization isn't just how a project starts, but how they step up to fix things when they go wrong.
Once the executive team (specifically Robbie the CEO and Alan the COO) took personal oversight of my case, they completely picked up the slack. They addressed the technical hurdles immediately and delivered an absolute powerhouse of a system that perfectly handles my heavy household and EV needs. They even followed through by seamlessly installing a 5th battery module later with zero issues.
The final, running system on-site is:
Inverter: Sigenergy 10kW Energy Controller (Upgraded from the original 5kW proposal)
Storage: 40kWh SigenStor Battery Stack (5x 8kWh modules)
EV Charger & Gateway: 12kW DC EV Charger & Single Phase Sigen Gateway
Solar Arrays: 15x Suntech 440W N-type panels running perfectly alongside my legacy system.
A special mention must go to the main installer, Fabio. His technical knowledge, neat workmanship, and clear communication during the commissioning process were top-shelf and a masterclass in proper site execution.
It is rare to see a company take this level of personal pride and accountability to entirely recover a project. Plico stood by their word, looked after me on the final pricing to reflect the on-site changes fairly, and delivered a world-class system. Highly recommended!
Original Review:
I signed a contract with Plico Energy back in June 2025. It is now March 2026, and I still have no solar system. After eight months of waiting, an installer finally showed up four weeks ago. He couldn't figure out the basic wiring calculations, rejected the proposed battery placement, sat around for 2.5 hours waiting for instructions from his office, and then completely abandoned the job.
Since that day, I have had absolute silence from Plico. No follow-up, no new installation date, and management is entirely unreachable. To make matters worse, because of their endless delays, my finance company had to extend the loan offer twice, which has now directly damaged my credit rating. Working in the construction industry, I know exactly what proper site management, technical competence, and client communication look like. Plico has demonstrated none of it. If my company ran projects this way, we wouldn’t have a single client. Absolutely appalling. Avoid them.

Poor customer care and poor service
In October 2025 a very helpful Plico sales representative persuaded me into installing a solar system on my roof after I had carefully explained to him that all other solar companies I had tried, had refused, as my roof was covered in Roman tiles. He said that Plico had a special system that could cope with roman tiled roofs. So I happily signed the contract.I was also applying for the government battery grant, which took a couple of weeks to get approved, after which the scheduled installation date was then made for early/mid February 2026. I waited until mid February without any further contact from Plico to give me a firm installation date, I then called Plico asking for an installation date, it was then they said, we have been looking at google images of my roof and discovered I have roman tiles and could not do the installation using their racking system!
What a waste of time and effort on my part, trying to facilitate the installation. No one had been on site, no one had contacted me in 4.5 months to let me know they Wouldn’t do the installation! So our installation could not go ahead.
Plico you have displayed a total lack of customer care and service and I have wasted an extreme amount of time, not to mention all the preparation I have done for the installation !!!

Hi Ron, we’re very sorry about your experience and sincerely apologise for the misunderstanding regarding your proposed installation.After reviewing the circumstances, it appears there was confusion during the initial sales conversation. Our former salesperson may have mistakenly confused your Roman terracotta tiles with Monier terracotta tiles, which are different roofing types with different installation requirements. Unfortunately, solar panels cannot be safely installed on Roman tiles using our racking systems. We attempted to source specialised mounting brackets, however upon further inspection our installers decided that the tiles were too brittle to proceed, even with the specialised brackets. For safety, structural and compliance reasons we are unable to proceed with the installation at your property.
We acknowledge that this should have been identified and communicated much earlier in the process, and we sincerely apologise for the delay and the inconvenience this has caused you. This is not the experience we want for any of our customers, and we regret that we have let you down in this instance.
While we’re unable to proceed with the installation, we do hope you’re able to find a supplier who can work with your roof type so you can still take advantage of the available rebates and install a solar and battery system at your home.

Absolutely outstanding experience with Plico from start to finish.
The install team were brilliant, professional, friendly and genuinely helpful. They even asked if it was alright to take some rubbish I’d stashed down the side of the house when they packed up, which just shows the kind of people they are. The tech stayed until late in the evening to make sure everything was up and running properly before leaving. No rushing, no cutting corners.Any time I’ve had questions, the team have been incredibly responsive and happy to explain things clearly.
The system itself is fantastic. The visibility into what’s using energy around the house has been eye-opening, and having the battery has genuinely changed the way I think about power usage. It’s motivated me to shift habits and use what I generate before I pay for anything from the grid.
Couldn’t be happier. Highly recommend.

I had an excellent experience with Plico, thanks to Kiri. She was honest, patient, and genuinely focused on helping me understand my options rather than pushing a sale. Whats not to like about the Plico System!
We couldn’t be happier with our Plico battery. From the sales team with the clear comms to the date start date that they lined up nicely with a day I could work from home, these guys worked around my timeframe. The install team are legends. The guys arrived right at the agreed start time, clarifies the install location, we discussed the UPS circuits, they did the install in a few hours, left us with a well installed unit, took all the mess away and fixed a few issues they found in the switchboard. From the time they set up the system and we checked our app, the system has been working faultlessly for over a month. The system set up nicely on the internet page and we have a clear view on what the system is up to so we can make changes to our appliance use to make the most of the system. The savings are huge. We were expecting an 5 year return but after just 35 days, the system payback is targeted for less than 3 years. We highly recommend Plico to anyone thinking about making the switch – it’s been one of the best home investments we have made. Just do it.Inverter rating: 5/5

Go Green, Go Plico!!
From the sales team, to the installation crew, through to quality compliance check, the Plico team were thorough, proficient and excellent at their jobs. The install was done really well. The 7.6kW solar and 10kWh BESS from the first day has allowed me to be almost 96% self-sufficiency, and having the rebates is a great bonus. I went with Plico not only cause of their quality installation process, but because this company believe in orchestration of DER, and to succeed in that for the longer term, you need to have quality gear installed right. Easy to deal with and great value for money
Sales team were friendly and called when they said they were going to and it was obvious they knew their stuff. Installation staff were friendly and worked well but did not clean up or remove any rubbish, that is my only complaint throughout the entire process. Fantastic Plico Team
Sales team member (Jasmine) was very knowledgeable.Local customer service team was great at handling a couple curve balls from the teams subcontractors (Combined Electrical Solutions).
Overall I would recommend going with Plico but I would recommend consumers check the App to ensure the system is working correctly post installation. If there are any issues reach out to Plico’s local Australian team.

After dealing with multiple quotes and dishonest sales people I had literally given up trying to navigate the solar process until I dealt with Plico. Loving the virtual power plant
Our family of four is loving our Plico solar system! It's given us a real sense of independence, and we're thrilled to say we've said goodbye to power bills, even with the AC running all summer long. The sales and quoting process was straightforward and informative. The installation team was polite, punctual, and left everything tidy. Plus, the customer service has been fantastic – they helped us organize the grid connection after the install and showed us how to use the charger. The only minor hiccup we've experienced is the occasional Wi-Fi dropout, but honestly, the benefits far outweigh this small inconvenience. Not charging
I spoke to a lady today (2/7/2026). She never asked for any details. Then told me that I will have to wait until next week to see if the problem can be sorted. It's going to start costing me money very soon. Not happy.Supplier Reply:
