Hi, I would highly recommend this group of installers.
They have been extremely efficient, well priced and really easy to deal with. I’m also an electrician, so I can confidently say they did well.They have good and accurate advice, recommended really good products and were really punctual with getting the paperwork done.

Quality experience
We asked for 3 quotes from Solarquotes and found that Dave Mahoney's approach and presentation stood out from the start. We liked that Dave and Evan are a local small business and both qualified electricians experienced at solar system design and installation. From the start we were talking with practical people who understood all aspects of the project and who were actually going to do the work.I remember Dave saying "we care about doing a good job that you will be happy with because this is my business and I will be the one giving you after sales service". He made suggestions which saved us money.
We had to wait a while of course, but communication was excellent and the job was done with minimal delays, there was no damage or difficulty what so ever.
The system is fantastic, we couldn't be happier.
Thoroughly recommend Mahoney and Da Silva.

Great Installation experience
Choosing an installer was initially worrying however I am very happy I chose Mahoney and Da Silva. Dave and Evan were extremely knowledgeable, very good to deal with even when my requests made things harder, and importantly they are top notch electricians which is important for these installations. They cleaned up, took care of my property, and were generally a pleasure to deal with. And pricing was very competitive for quality installers. Wonderful job, lovely guys, very happy!
An outstanding experience with Mahoney & Da Silva! The installation of our Sigenergy solar battery was done beautifully — everything is so neat and well-finished.Evan and Dave were fantastic — genuinely lovely people who made the whole process easy and stress-free. Their professionalism and attention to detail really stood out.

Great guys to deal with and professional installation
They provided answers to our queries promptly and ready to understand. We would recommend.We had solar (jinko), battery and gateway (sigengery) installed.
We have a small roof space and Dave was able quote and supply 510w panels. Any post installation issues were resolved promptly.
They kept us informed of the single phase inverter recall and replaced without any issues.

Great experience
Evan and David were a pleasure to deal with. The quote process was prompt and professional. Provided good honest advive and were always willing to answer my questions and explained everything in detail. Despite being very busy at the time they communicated well and kept me informed along the way.Importantly after installation they have been prompt and willing to answer my questions.

Fantastic install
From start to finish, Dave and Evan demonstrated the utmost professionalism, guiding us through every step of our solar journey with clarity and patience. I couldn’t be happier with our new solar and battery system or the team that installed it
Outstanding trustworthy service. From the very first quote through to full connection to the grid, the entire process was seamless and professionally handled. The team’s dedication and attention to detail really stood out — they went above and beyond to ensure everything was done right.What impressed me most was their ability to adapt on the fly. When unexpected challenges came up during installation that hadn’t been visible during the site quote, they were able to quickly redesign elements to work around the problem without any delay or cost involved.
The communication was outstanding throughout the journey, the connection to the grid (for me) was seamless, all I got was a email from the energy provider asking me to accept it was happening.
It’s rare to see such professionalism, transparency, and problem-solving skill all in one team. I highly recommend David and Evan to anyone considering solar.

Great service, cost and installation.
These guys were great, certainly way better than the first installer who put a system on 5 years prior. They were timely, very responsive and took on all my requests. The quality of the install was great, very neat, and I have recommended them to a number of neighbours all of which now have one of their systems. Great Installation and Job Well Done
We had just installed solar panels at our holiday house and we wanted the same inverter (just to make monitoring easier). They were competitively priced and very adaptable with the installation and connections. Our Victorian triple storey house provide some problems for connecting the panels to the inverter and switchboard. But these guys handled the issues extremely well and kept informed at all times.Importantly they finished the job neatly, no extra costs and the system has been working a treat.
We are very happy.

Dave and the team were fantastic to deal with. Dave's knowledge and experience was obvious. He patiently answered all my questions and queries during the quoting process. The installation was really fast, smooth and with minimal disruption. The installation of the hardware was really neat and tidy and our place was left clean and tidy afterwards. It was very reassuring to deal with Dave - He was the person looking at our property, discussing our needs and quoting us and then he was the tradesman who installed the equipment. Spot on Solar Sparkies
From the moment they arrived to give us a quote to the day they installed the solar panels, Evan and David were friendly, understanding of our needs and their recommendations were spot on.They were very reasonably priced, did exactly what they said they would do and were polite, punctual and reliable. They took pride and care in what they did and were quite knowledgeable in the solar panels and batteries. I had a very good experience and would recommend them in a heartbeat.

A perfect Install
I would strongly recommend Mahoney and Da Silva to anyone looking for a solar and battery installation. Out of the three companies that provided quotes, they were the only one to come and quote in person. This was really important, as our roof is very different to how it appears on Google Map's satellite images! They even managed to work around the complex shade issues provided by trees near our property, and delivered a perfectly optimised system.When the time to install it all came, they were punctual, courteous and worked very efficiently. We had a quite a few spells of bad weather, but they always took the opportunity to finish the job as quickly as possible when the good weather rolled around. They had great communication throughout the whole quote and install; I was never left wondering when they would show up.
Since the install, the solar and battery system has been perfect for our needs and hasn't skipped a beat. I think we'll definitely contact them again in the summer when we want to change our gas hot water system over to a heat pump.

Didn't meet expectations.
This is the third system I've had installed, with both the previous ones being done by large/mid scale installers, and both were trouble free with a satisfactory process and outcome. This time around I decided to try one of the three referred by Solar quotes and I chose this small scale owner-operator expecting a more personalised and still trouble free process and more active customer service. I was keen to support a small developing business.The quote process was straightforward and David was happy to provide a number of versions as we worked through the options to deal with my own and council's requirements (heritage overlay). The installation was also relatively straightforward, after we had one agreed reschedule just before Christmas. It was completed after the holiday period over 2 days. Once completed I was advised about the need to connect the system to the internet on an ongoing basis, which was news to me and had not been raised before. We are low internet users and rely on a 4G Mobile Internet Device which meets all our needs. However the Goodwe inverter would not connect. To cut a long story short various attempts to connect the system using different equipment did not succeed. Over a number of months, including supposedly waiting for Goodwe to supply a new WI-FI Dongle, the customer service deteriorated to the point that David stopped responding to calls and messages. Eventually I resorted to calling Evan and he was appropriately responsive and made significant efforts to connect the system without success. Eventually I was left to contact Goodwe directly, which I did a number of times, with Evan also not returning my call. After a number of calls and following Goodwe's advice eventually the system connected, but it was still not exporting any power (I know the current feed-in tariff is insignificant, but that's not the point). Eventually, just a few weeks ago (in August) I assume Goodwe discovered the export problem related to the post installation paperwork not been completed. Suddenly I received advice from my distributer and retailer advising receipt of relevant paperwork from the installer, and soon enough as if by magic the system was registered and exporting - all the while not a word from the installer. Throughout the post installation process I was made to feel like a difficult hard to satisfy customer, when in fact it seems that the problem all along was incomplete documentation by the installer. And still not a call to explain the issue, it's resolution, let alone any admission of responsibility or expression of regret. On that basis I can't recommend this installer. Next time I will likely stick to an established reputable higher volume provider with an established customer service charter and a issue resolution process that works and is not person dependent.

Hi Frank,Evan had taken over post installation responsibilities at that time which is why you were communicating with him and not me.
Apologies for not being more transparent and this experience but Evan and I have vowed to no longer install Goodwe products as a result of this experience, many months ago.
Goodwe never provided solid resolutions and often took months to reply to our emails. They finally found the right update to the inverter controls which is why your system was finally connected. It was in fact connected by us on the back end pushing to make it all work.

Great System - Great Customer Service
I recently got solar and battery system from David and Evan at Mahoney and Da Silva.First, David came over to do the inspection as part of the quote which was really appreciated as our property roof is not straight forward. David made the effort to maximise the number of panels we could fit. He was also very supportive during the design process and was able to come over and re-measure and re-quote when the design changed. This extra effort was really appreciated.
When I had questions, David was always happy to answer and give me confidence that the system he designed was going to perform well.
I was also really happy with the components they supply, the Aiko panels and Sigenergy battery are both well recommended and I'm very happy with them.
We have had the system running now for over a week and basically self-sufficient off grid, so really happy.
I definitely recommend David and Evan to do solar and battery install.

Highly recommended, best in town
I would like to recommend Mahoney and Da Silva Pty Ltd for their outstanding service. Evan and David are qualified electricians who personally handle all aspects of the solar system installation process, without subcontracting. This ensures direct communication throughout the project. Evan conducted an on-site inspection and provided a highly competitive quote. They took care of all the paper work and saved me a lot of time. An appointment was giver relatively quick and the installation process was very smooth with no issues I am very satisfied with the quality of their work and the installation itself. Additionally, both David and Evan were meticulous about cleanliness, ensuring that all waste was removed upon completion. Thank you for your excellent service. They are honest and transparent. No hidden fees or extras and recommends what is best for your property.

MDS provided me with extremely professional service.
I had several companies come out to my house via SolarQuotes, and others that I directly contacted (4 in total) and MDS were the ONLY company out of all their competitiors that demonstrated:
- (1) eagerness and competence with the electrical and solar design (my house required dedicated conduit to be run, had a complex roof design etc. which other companies didn't want to and could not address)
- (2) high level of professionalism indicated by clear communication, physical inspection, explanation of their plan
- (3) very approachable
I need to highlight as well that they provided excellent post-installation support. I did have some issues post install however MDS took personal responsibility each time, responded immediately to my questions, and even on a separate occassion fixed issues with my roof that were unrelated to their solar install.
I cannot comment on whether the cost is competitive (although I think it is - approx $13k for a 7.4kw solar system with a Sigen 16kw battery with underground conduit run), however, their professionalism provided me the confidence that they had done an excellent job and will continue to provide support into the future.
I can recommend their services.
