Pushy sales / terrible customer service
I had an extension to my battery system installed. My overall system has now been offline for 6 weeks . Sloppy installation, 5 weeks delayed esc inspection and now the system doesn’t work. And Solar Battery Group can’t even get somebody out. They seem to have no own installers and just use random contractors. They have no idea what’s going on. Every call to their support team takes at least 30 minutes wait time on the phone. And they can’t help and have to email the manufacturer! Terrible service. Can’t recommend.Battery rating: 1/5

Battery Rebate not paid
Solar battery group did a great job installing my 15kw system prior to July 1st with the commitment they would claim and repay my $4500 government rebate once available post 1/7/25. 2 months later and lots of chasing I still have not seen my rebate. Irony is that had I had it installed after 1/7 it would have been deducted from my invoice and no problems. Solar Battery group clearly holding onto payments to manage the cash flow required for what is no doubt unprecedented growth.Battery rating: 4/5

Great advice, great system, great installation.
The Solar Battery Group Salesperson (Jared) was very well informed about the various systems available to me and took the time, over several phone calls to him, to answer all my questions about system performance, configuration, suitability for my locale (Canberra region), etc. At no time was I placed under any sales pressure or simply fed a sales pitch.The installer (Majura Electrical) was prompt and the installation is neat and tidy. The installer also took the time to guide me through the features of the monitoring app installed on my phone and laptop.
Even though SBG uses a subcontractor for their installations, the whole process was seamless. Once the system was installed, SBG promptly arranged the meter upgrade through my energy supplier.

Disappointed
Had a cold call offer to add another battery to my hive system which I accepted & paid a deposit .Was told the scheduling department would advise of installation date.
Received a call 3 weeks later informing me that they had no installers in my area & would refund my deposit. Took nearly 6 weeks to receive refund after several phone calls inquiring when the deposit would be made.
Very frustrating experience. Unfortunately Solar Battery Group own the sole licence to install Hive batteries.

Great Installation, works perfectly.
Sales were completed through Solar Battery Group as an addon battery to an existing solar system. I purchased a 26.6kw AlphaESS battery and inverter system to compliment the current 5kw System with Fronius inverter. The company seems to cop a lot of flak online due to their mass mailing process and push for early deposits and are not one of Solarquotes supported installers. I had no issues, all questions were answered, they provided all information. They are pushy on an early deposit however I had no issues after payment made. They were easy to contact and able to answer all questions. The system they quoted and provided was good and excellent value for money.The installation was completed by Econ Energy subcontracted by Solar Battery Group. They were on time, polite, neat and tidy and left a very professional installation. They walked me through connection, disconnection procedures and how to use the app. The installation was completed in addition to the existing PV solar system and meant minimal disruption to power (approximately half an hour).
The total system cost was half of what other quotes were due to current rebates and Alpha ESS rebates at the time. Time from deposit to installation was approximately 6 weeks which was the quoted time frame.
