Customer service

Customer service needs attention Ive had to make several calls and get an answering machine to leave details or reception to tell me the person I’m trying to contact is not available and they will get them to call me back. This return call can be a day or two. I personally went to your office and witnessed the 2 girls on reception answering phones, sometimes letting ring out or putting on hold, also saying sorry not available at the moment I will get them to call you back which is what has happened to me a number of times. They are too busy chatting between themselves about lunch and personal stuff etc. I like your product as this is my 2nd purchase with you but dread trying to contact your company. I am a operations/ compliance manager for a large transport company and take customer service as our first point of contact to maybe a potential customer that could lead to bigger contracts / sales etc.

Solar Battery Installation

We enquired about a battery & found the sales/quoting process very good. We received an initial quote which we were happy with but we were concerned about our existing solar panels ability to perform (they were at least 15 years old). We requested a new quote to include new panels & removal of existing panels & were very happy with the information & new quote. (Received federal gov subsidy for battery & state gov subsidy for new panels) Agreed to proceed & a date was organised for installation. The installers were excellent, very professional, punctual & knowledgeable. They removed the original panels & installed the new ones & all rubbish was removed. Were shown the operation of the unit before they left. When the inspector came to check the install he commented on what a good job had been done. The only problem we had was initially trying to contact the company by phone. (Were put on hold for long periods & eventually cut off). We think this was due to the large volume of customer enquiries at the time. We would highly recommend Solar Battery Group to anyone thinking of purchasing a home battery.

Recent Battery Installation

We recently had a solar battery system installed and couldn’t be happier with the entire experience from start to finish. The installation process was smooth, organised, and completed professionally. Everything was explained clearly to us, which made the whole transition stress-free and easy to understand.
The sales agent was especially outstanding throughout the process. They were very patient, answered all of our questions thoroughly, and kept us updated every step of the way. We never felt rushed or pressured, and their communication gave us confidence that everything was progressing properly.
The application process was also handled efficiently, with regular updates and guidance whenever needed. Now that the installation is complete, we are extremely happy with the final result. The system is working well, and it feels great knowing we are making better use of solar energy while reducing our power costs.
Overall, it has been a very positive experience, and we would happily recommend this company to others considering a solar battery installation.

Too expensive

They don’t suggest the right product and charge way too much. You can buy a 40kw battery elsewhere to what you pay with them for 10 kw battery. Complete waste of money spent with them.

Solar Battery Group

From the first contact to after completion Solar Battery Group (SBG) kept me well informed of what was happening and if I was happy with the progress and work. I have a 6.4 kw/h solar system and SBG installed the 15 kw/ batteries, since installation my home has been on average over 95% efficient on a daily basis. Tilly from SBG was a pleasure to deal with and provided timely advice and information throughout the whole process.

After initial quote was made and agreed to, a follow up call was made to inform us a freight charge of $570 was also required.
This in my opinion was a rip off as the tradie brought everything down in a trailer along with other customers items. 2 hour trip.

Installation was good and professional.
App on phone was set up and we were shown how to use it .
All other info required was passed on too.

Excellent installation

The installation was carried out politeley and efficiently. There was assisitance to to coonect. When there was a problem about connection I was contacted and this was rectified. My only complaint is the requirement to arrange a bank loan for an extended payment option.

Great customer service

Communication from start to finish was excellent. Installers very professional, polite and left the site clean and tidy. I have an old house with limited suitable sites for the battery unit. All this considered the unit was installed well and with consideration for the heritage of the property. (Old ‘vs’ new is always a challenge). All in all very happy with the whole process and beyond!!

A few problems at installation but now working well.

Sale quoting was good except for the Tarif change information not provided.
When first installed the battery was charging from the grid at night and not via the solar panels during the day.
We turned the battery off to stop it charging.
It took several days for the installer to rectify the fault.
Since then everything seems to be working well.
Contacting Solar Battery Group can be challenging, on hold for lengthy periods.
In the end I'm happy with the result.

Solar Battery Group are the Shiznitz!

We recently had an Ambrion solar battery installed through SBG and couldn’t be happier with both the product and the service. The Ambrion battery has been performing great, seamlessly storing excess solar energy and providing reliable backup power, at least we hope so, given we haven't had an outage yet..who knows maybe we did and we just didn't notice because of the battery!

The installation team were prompt, professional and worked efficiently, left the entire area spotless, and even left some helpful tips. Though it was working as advertised upon leaving the only complaint I would have is the app itself and time it takes for the power companies to get you on the 'books' so to speak in order to use it and concepts involved that aren't at all catered to the layman. It's all very confusing, but that doesn't have anything to do with SPG and their service or product.

Poor after sale customer service

Quoting was super fast and they couldn’t do enforce me. However after that, no customer care and spend so much time calling. Poor installation has cost me out of pocket and trying to get someone to reimburse me. No one answers the phone and no one calls back. Still waiting!!

Great company to deal with

Pricing was quick with no hiden costs, all details up front

Buyer beware

The whole process was laborious from quote to installation eg 4-8 months. When Installed the tradies did not show us how the unit worked or troubleshooting it was up to the “inspector” to inform us. After installation we were told the unit could not be turned on until an inspector provided the certificate of compliance, another 6-8 week delay. The inspector when he finally arrived did gives any ideas how the unit worked so again we were oblivious. After several phone calls to the provider we still remain none the wiser. My husband is disabled so he was not offered instructions. The inspector was in and out in 10 perhaps minutes

We now have a external unit that sits unattached on top of our electricity box swinging in the breeze as photographed,

Overall, very poor customer service. As we are regional a full regional recent blackout demonstrated that we had the refrigerator working and one light, pretty shabby!! My husband uses CPAP (we are on the Essential services Register) and we were told by AUSNET to relocate to a motel but they too were in blackout.

Savings since have been extremely good and we received the rebate but overall the whole experience was well below expected standard of today

Excellent system

The sales team helped us decide on the best solution for our needs. The costs and rebates were clearly explained. Detailed documentation for all components was provided before a decision was made. Installation proceeded smoothly a few days after signing. The two installers were very proficient and completed the job in just two hours, explaining everything and answering our questions as they worked. No mess, no fuss. The independent inspection was delayed a few days so we had to wait before the system was turned on and we could start to monitor the benefits of the battery. The Alpha ESS monitoring App is excellent and works on the PC or phone. Information is available in real time as well as historical. It provides a great insight into your electricity usage and enables you to readily identify what uses most power and modify your usage habits to best advantage.

System no kick in power outage!

Installation etc went smooth. Talking to what I think may have been a spanish customer service consultant, not so good. Our system did not kick in during a power break. Called and got a very helpful agent telling me to connect the battery to the net, we got a new modem. Once done I called back and got a different guy and he didn't appear to understand and in the end he hing up after repeating himself many time without answering my question "can you solve my problem". So now I'm still not sure if we will get the kick in of the battery system that we paid for. I'd appreciate a call back, we're in Warranwood.

Solar batteries installed WA

The sale personal were good with quotes, and paperwork but unfortunately I feel that the Inverter I was sold for the installation of my solar batteries was not large enough as I have a solar panel Inverter that produces more solar energy than my batteries can convert and store. The excess goes to the grid, which is frustrating.
The actual installation was great and the tradies punctual and tidy.
I did feel there was a lack of information on how the system actually works but the AlphaESS app has been great to study how the system operates and that is how I realised that I wasn't getting the best out of my 2 solar batteries but things improved with the installation of another 2 batteries. So with 20 kWh of solar batteries my savings make my outlay cost effective.

A huge disappointment

From day one of install battery didn’t work. Took in excess of 15 phone calls and hours on hold to actually talk to someone. Finally got them to come and have a look at it 3 months later only to be told that there was a broken part in the battery and that the whole top part of the battery had to be replaced. Waited another few months for the new part to turn up, then another few weeks for the repairer to come out and swap the broken part over and connect everything up.

Customer service was pretty much non existent. Each time I got through after waiting on hold for (usually) 30 minutes at a time I was told I would get a call back….never happened so I had to call back again and wait on hold over and over again.

I was getting phone calls from other departments wanting forms to be sent through after install even though my battery wasn’t operating. 6 months after original install I finally had a battery that worked.

Absolutely would not recommend this company for a battery.

Very happy times 3

This is the third time we have dealt with Solar Battery Group. The fact that we chose to deal with them again speaks for itself. They haven’t disappointed. I understand things are hectic in the solar industry at the moment. Despite this, Solar Battery Group delivered again. We had to be a little patient given the circumstances but apart from that, I can’t fault the customer service or the installation. Very happy to recommend them.

Not Happy

Installer didn't caome back to check. Unable to get assistance with the App. My old battery which they said would be picked up is still in my yard. Setting up with a new bigger battery hasn't proven to cost effective!

Paper weight

The whole experience was terrible. The installation was a mess with parts left out of the kit. Had to wait 5 months for the parts and then the installer was spiteful and turned my hot water heater off to add insult to a desperate situation. The battery now fully charges but doesn’t discharge the power to the house for use so it is a very good paper weight to sit on the mounting power bills.
So unimpressed with the service from this bunch of rip off merchants.

Not happy customer

My battery has been off line since January, it’s now end of March and they are trying to get someone out to my home. I live in Sydney not the mountains every time I call, get put on hold. Nobody calls you back when you leave a message. I will never recommend this company to anybody

Truly disappointing and after sales service has been poor

As a busy single dad with a 7 yr old and a 4 yr old - anything which reduces costs or can make life easier is truly a windfall. However, this experience has been truly disappointing! The install was done in 2 goes - as I had initially ordered a 10kwhr replacement and then added 20kwhr a year later. The first install took longer than quoted and having to leave the installer in the house to complete the works whilst I attended to family needs. And the 2nd install arrived later than advised and so to I had to leave the house to attend to the children's needs. The 2nd installer seemed very proficient but I didn’t appreciate the mess left behind. The combined system touted as being able to save money has mad NO difference to my power bills… I still pay some $450 - $500 per month! I have 52 PV cella and 30kw of battery and it has made no difference to my power bills. To add insult - it seems that the system only operates 15kw of the total 30kw - and whilst I have reported the problem and tried to call 3 times over the last 2 weeks - no return calls - or the 03 number that does appear in my phone list cant be connected every time I try and return the call. I feel this will be resolved by reporting the matter to Fair Trading - which I will follow thru with this week.

Solar battery procurement/installation

Excellent communication to the purchase to installation. The installation of the battery should have been raised by 300mm as at present cleaning beneath the unit is not possible. Debris will accumulate which will no doubt encourage rust to the battery body. There is bare wiring which should have been closed in. UV degradation is now possible. See photos for picture description of the above.
When the battery is at 100% at night time and consumption is less than 500W. There is still occasional grid feed in?

It has been out since November

The Solar system has been out since November, despite a Solar Battery Group representative been out here on Friday on April 24th, it is still not fixed, but instead it has been completely shut down. The after sales service is terrible. I have been on the phone constantly getting them to come out and fix it. I first phoned in November I have since called numerous times, but they offer excuses for how long it has been out.
