Repeated App Failures and Poor Support - Extremely Frustrating Experience
Very disappointing experience.Installation took far longer than expected, and I then had to wait two weeks just to get access to the monitoring app. After only a few weeks, the app lost its connection to my battery due to what appears to be an account mix-up with another user. It was frustrating to resolve - and now it’s happened again.
Having to repeatedly call support, wait on hold, and fix the same issue is unacceptable. To make matters worse, support is only available during business hours, which makes it difficult to get help when you actually need it.
The system itself may work, but the app reliability and customer support let it down badly.

Solar Battery Installation by Solar Installation Group
Sales and quoting process was very quick, flexible and friendly.The installation was very straightforward and the installers very friendly, on-time and efficient. However, at one stage I had to go the neighbours to look for a piece of wood to attach the battery to. Eventually, one of the installers went to a hardware store to buy one.
The company arranged for the inspector to come and turn the system on. I don't know anything about using the charger.

Second battery
We decided to buy a larger size battery. As our 7 year old Alpha Ess worked really well albeit it was smaller the new 26kw is brilliant. The sales staff were not pushy, the information provided and sales process was seamless. We had the same local installer and he did a great job again. The app is great as I can check the performance and see how much energy is used by the heatter or pool pump. We have not used any grid power and we will join a VPP now that we have seen how the system performs.Battery rating: 5/5

Adrians review
Delivered and installed product on date expected however I think a preliminary inspection of the installation site would have been a good idea as the original area was not suitable and I had to pay extra for the installer to add extra cabling when he came to instal the device.Battery rating: 4/5

Simple ordering and installation
Easy sign up process. Salesman information was accurate and he was not pushy. Answered all questions. Installation was excellent and completed by very experienced and knowledgeable installers. Hassle free installation
Solar battery group done an excellent job installing the batteries. The two installers were very professionaland skilled at their job. They were punctual and cleaned up once the job was completed. I like the app for the
batteries and the amount of detailed information it gives.
Probably a bit to early to comment, the batteries were only installed 7 months ago.

The Secret of Life!
A wise person once said that the secret of life is planting a tree that you will never live to eat the fruit from. That’s how at my age (1956 was a vintage year) I feel about my solar battery system, professionally installed by Solar Battery Group Feb 2026. My Goanna Batteries were replaced with a 40kw capacity and I decided to go for broke and include a battery backup system which has now been tried twice while Western Power ‘blacked’ us for 2 separate days whilst replacing poles in our area. 1x power and 1x light circuit flawlessly kicked in so lights & internet & telly, music were still available. The only issue is that it seems that the power inverter is powered only from the grid so no battery charging occurred during the blackout. (I still need to make enquiries in regard to this issue)Very competent and friendly technicians made a the removal of the old batteries & installation seem easy. Most helpful to answer the many questions I had for them. The only hiccup was the fact that the toggle need to connect the system to the internet was not presently available so there was a delay whilst waiting for the component to arrive. On the topic of support, I did try and contact Solar Group on a few occasions to find out when I could expect the component to arrive and found that I always seemed to get a ‘busy’ notification. To their credit though, I always received a call back to answer my enquiries.
Performance?? Installed at the end of Summer (no clouds in sight) so batteries quickly charged to 100 % with self-sufficiency in the very high 90’s … Now June and Winter is setting in. Batteries with a break in the weather are presently getting up to the mid 30’s and back to the 20’s in the morning. Presently. depending mostly from the grid. Not until the system runs for a year or so can I fully assess the benefits over whole seasons of weather. We will see?? but overall the system seems robust and user friendly. I hope this helps. Great Installation
Quoting process was easy with all questions answered.The product was more expensive than other options however the battery is very high quality and a named brand.
Contractors that conducted the installation were punctual, courteous, professional and left the area clean.

The Solar Battery Group, perspective of a qualified Tradesman
The Solar Battery Group, perspective of a qualified Tradesman.I'd like to say at the outset, my background of 50+ years is as a Tradesman (3 different trades), two of those, a Qualified Electrician and an Electrical Fitter.
I have extensive experience with Solar and batteries of varying technologies.
I've been dealing with the Solar Battery group for more than 4 years. My first battery, was installed by them, subsequently upgraded to a larger capacity twice, and the second full installation was to a bigger capacity and different brand (Dec 2025).
On all of those occasions the process has been smooth and trouble free.
The sales team have been excellent, the technical backup guys are spot on and the installer (the same guy every time), is a great guy whose workmanship is what I would expect from a qualified Tradie, absolutely first class.
I recommend if you are starting out or upgrading, talk to the Solar Battery Group, my experience with them has been nothing short of excellent.

The communication was excellent throughout.

I have used Solar Battery Group since 2018
I have used Solar Battery Group before and had no hesitation to use them again when I upgraded my batteries. The only problem was getting the certificate of electrical safety quickly. However, this was not the fault of Solar Battery Group. I would strongly recommend that company to other residents considering installing solar panels and/or batteries. The company has provided me with a Five Year Monitoring and Maintenance Plan at a very reasonable cost.28 May 2026

Great experience overall

Solar delivered as promised
The whole process from sales to deliver and installation was fairly seamless. The battery was installed on the day agreed and the installer was very helpful, prompt and explained the operation fully before leaving the job in a very tidy condition. The app has been very useful in monitoring usage and battery charging levels. I am very hopeful this will be a great help to our energy savings in the future.

Solar Battery Installation - really good experience
We had a really good experience with Solar Battery Group. The sales team were easy to talk to, responsive and kept us informed through the whole quote and pre-install process, which made everything feel simple and straightforward.On installation day the team were on time, professional and very tidy. They worked efficiently and cleaned up well afterwards. It made the whole experience feel smooth and hassle-free, and we’re really happy with how everything was handled.
Very happy with our Ambion battery so far. It’s been performing really well and has been a great addition to our solar setup.
It’s nice being able to store energy during the day and use it later, and the battery has been reliable and easy to keep track of. Overall we’ve been really pleased with how it’s performing and it’s been a worthwhile investment for our home.

Towards energy independence
The initial quote was for a small battery on our existing panels. For years we had been exporting to the grid with very little reward. We ended up with more panels and a bigger battery and now we use our own power and very little more.The system is not controlled by us but still seems to work really well to our benefit.
The installation was excellent. Daniel was skilled and a great communicator. Everything was timely and we caught the best government rebates.
The only improvement would be around information and education about how it all works. Also took me a while to get the app going because they told me the incorrect code to put in.
Overall I’m very happy with the system and the process from Solar Battery Group.

Soooo Happy.
The old system was removed entirely leaving no mess.The New system was installed on the planned day, in the allotted time and all rubbish was removed in the end.
Since activation the system hasn't missed a beat. Apart from when there were days of cloud in a row, I have paid only the supply fee to my electricity provider.
In the past few months I have enquired about a UPS upgrade and charging my PHEV car. Although I have not taken up these offers, the replies and quickly, full of information and at a reasonable price.
As I said. I am very happy with The Solar Battery Group as a whole.

Efficient install
Buy and install a battery system only. Already had grid and solar connections.Initial sales discussion was polite and explained well. I did feel a little pressure to decide quickly although I was aware and had done my research.
A flexible install date was decided and the installers were on time on the day.
Installers were polite, efficient and tidy, cleaning up after their install. They were also willing to explain the system, details and connection.

Smooth professional instsllation
I found the booking process to install the battery seamless as was the actual installation. The battery was well located by the installers, the installation went without a hitch and they left the place very clean. The battery setup was straightforward and the app used to monitor performance is very good. I think the battery was value for money and has made a difference to power bills. Had a great all round experience with this company. Easy to work with and did what they said they would. Easy process ordering and paying for the 15 kwh battery. Already had panels and inverter. In fact they rang the week before the installation appointment to seeif they could come a few days early. Battery installed Dec 25. No problems at all. Been going good all the time. Solar battery installation in a tight space
Solar Battery Group had installed a smaller battery previously, with a good result. We were thus happy to upgrade our system to optimise our 10 solar panels. The price was good but the available space in our inner-city site was not.Careful inspection determined a site for the battery that was acceptable for both installation regulations and aesthetically for us. This change in the siting of the battery entailed a different model was required, which in turn, meant a revision of the quote. This revised quote generously accommodated a number of cost implications at no charge for us.
The installation team were prompt in making a date and on time on the day of installation. In addition, there was no mess left behind after installation. They were a cheerful and polite team.
Back-up information was provided per phone and on-line app access was opened for us by Solar Battery Group as soon as the work had been certified as 'correct'.
The warranty for the new system has been updated and we have been reassured that the new battery bank is functioning to expectation. We have been excited to see that the system is taking full advantage of the power generated by our panels.
We have already recommended the Solar Battery Group to other friends.

Customer service
Customer service needs attention Ive had to make several calls and get an answering machine to leave details or reception to tell me the person I’m trying to contact is not available and they will get them to call me back. This return call can be a day or two. I personally went to your office and witnessed the 2 girls on reception answering phones, sometimes letting ring out or putting on hold, also saying sorry not available at the moment I will get them to call you back which is what has happened to me a number of times. They are too busy chatting between themselves about lunch and personal stuff etc. I like your product as this is my 2nd purchase with you but dread trying to contact your company. I am a operations/ compliance manager for a large transport company and take customer service as our first point of contact to maybe a potential customer that could lead to bigger contracts / sales etc.Battery rating: 4/5

Solar Battery Installation
We enquired about a battery & found the sales/quoting process very good. We received an initial quote which we were happy with but we were concerned about our existing solar panels ability to perform (they were at least 15 years old). We requested a new quote to include new panels & removal of existing panels & were very happy with the information & new quote. (Received federal gov subsidy for battery & state gov subsidy for new panels) Agreed to proceed & a date was organised for installation. The installers were excellent, very professional, punctual & knowledgeable. They removed the original panels & installed the new ones & all rubbish was removed. Were shown the operation of the unit before they left. When the inspector came to check the install he commented on what a good job had been done. The only problem we had was initially trying to contact the company by phone. (Were put on hold for long periods & eventually cut off). We think this was due to the large volume of customer enquiries at the time. We would highly recommend Solar Battery Group to anyone thinking of purchasing a home battery.11 May 2026
Recent Battery Installation
We recently had a solar battery system installed and couldn’t be happier with the entire experience from start to finish. The installation process was smooth, organised, and completed professionally. Everything was explained clearly to us, which made the whole transition stress-free and easy to understand.The sales agent was especially outstanding throughout the process. They were very patient, answered all of our questions thoroughly, and kept us updated every step of the way. We never felt rushed or pressured, and their communication gave us confidence that everything was progressing properly.
The application process was also handled efficiently, with regular updates and guidance whenever needed. Now that the installation is complete, we are extremely happy with the final result. The system is working well, and it feels great knowing we are making better use of solar energy while reducing our power costs.
Overall, it has been a very positive experience, and we would happily recommend this company to others considering a solar battery installation.
