A smooth battery purchase and installation
I had two solar batteries installed by Solar Battery Group now ten years apart and the batteries have served us well.The sales and installation process was fast, easy and transparently explained.
The after sales support could be more responsive.
I can recommend the Solar Battery Group.

Really Impressed and would recommend them
Really impressed by Solar Battery Group - Lily 341254. They were very responsive and respectful during the quoting and sales phase. Took the time to take my various calls and discuss the details relating to the quote so I was assured I was making the right decision. Thanks Sam and the Team. It was important for me to choose a business that had the right technical credentials and good track record.The installation process occurred when they said it would and Luke was brilliant. Really felt he knew what he was doing and he certainly was a registered electrician. He took the time to take me through what he was doing and explain the battery and how it was working along with my solar. He did the work very efficiently and ensured that the area was tied up before leaving. I would highly recommend the team at Solar Battery Group!

Sceptical
I was very sceptical about installing a battery and I was sitting on the fence for sometime whether to install a solar battery or not.I wish I had done it a lot sooner with the savings we are making it is unbelievable! Our bill is under $2 a day and with rates rising it was a no brainer!
I contacted Battery Solar Group after receiving a letter in the mail, the process was simple from speaking to someone through to the installation.

Seamless acquisition
The ordering and payment system was seamless. Installation was on time and efficient. Installers were quick, and inspection afterwards went straight through.In retrospect, a bit of assistance with the related IT would have helped us oldies.

Fantastic product and fantastic service
Fantastic experience dealing with Lawrence who answered all queries I had about the battery and the process. Didn't push me into purchasing the product at all and was amazing to deal with. Excellent customer service
Battery install and sales all good. What was really impressive was the after sales service. Unfortunately our battery developed a fault after a few weeks so rang them up expecting the normal customer service experience you get these days, but was answered by an actual human being who took full responsibility for the issue and followed it through. Diagnostics was sent to the manufacturer and reply came back and battery was replaced no dragging of feet no delays. As I said they immediately took full responsibility, owned the problem and fixed it.The replacement battery (identical make and model to the first) has been so much quicker to charge that I suspect the original battery already had a fault before it was delivered, even though it passed all the installation checks, and yes the technical took me through all the connection process etc. Would use them again without a second thought.

Great company
After getting a $1200 electricity bill I decided to get a battery. I had 18 panels but was still getting a big bill. Since getting the battery, it is full by lunch time and I am selling to the grid the rest of the day. The battery keeps me going overnight.The service was prompt and was informed of progress along the way. Slow process from booking but quality installation
Quoting was good, and big company meant great value.Lots of delays to start due to promotions and demand outstripping staffing and supply. They sold out of my purchased battery but eventually gave me and upgrade model...
The actual installers were excellent, and now staffing sorted, follow up support has been great.

S B G the house of no books
The quote differed from the invoice.1st quote SBG discount = $3500.2nd quote SBG added an awning which was not installed and not required, $250.00. On this quote a SBG discount was applied $3900.
Why the difference?? Was it an accounting error?
I wanted the $3900 discount on the total cost of installation. I made some irrate phone calls with the accounting team with no success!
I believe the finance management is very poor and deceived the purchaser by manipulation the figures so they achieve their profits!
The contractors who installed the system were efficient and open to our desired location, after negotiation.
It took five months for us to be able to use the Alpha ESS app.
Partly our fault for not being at home, travelling interstate.
Installed in May now app operational in August.
Hopefully the buyer beware when being quoted and invoiced!

Replacing my old battery
The Solar Battery Group's quote was competitive, but it was the professional way they presented the information and answered all my concerns about the installation and timeline which sealed the deal for me.When on-site the team were efficient and worked in a neat and organized way. They pointed out that the battery did not seem to be charging at the expected rate and suggested i clean the solar panels. Which I organised soon after.
Before they left they set up my phone so i could check the charge rate and the battery capacity. I am extremely satisfied with the installation and the competence of all your workers during the time on site. Thank you.

I’ve had a great experience with this company from start to finish. Looks good

A Smooth and Hassle-Free Battery Installation
We recently had a home battery installed through Solar Battery Group and have been very happy with the overall experience. From the initial consultation and proposal through to installation and follow-up support, the team was responsive, professional, and easy to deal with. The pre-installation team provided clear guidance, the installation was completed promptly, and communication throughout the process was excellent.After installation, we had a minor issue with the battery monitoring, but the support team followed up and were proactive in helping resolve it. The system is now working as expected and has already helped us better manage our household energy usage.

Installation was straightforward. The contractors were professional and knowledgeable. They arrived on time on the agreed date of installation. There were several slight hiccups - when the initial pre-inspection was done, the power system wasn't identified as being 3-phase, which increased the price of installation. Secondly, blackout protection was unable to be installed, as it turned out that my wiring was too old and therefore non-compliant. This was only picked up on the day of installation by the electrical contractors. Otherwise, I am perfectly happy with the installation. Customer service has been fine. I was kept updated with any changes to the quoted price, and any questions were promptly answered. Overall, the system was within the budget that I had allocated.Inverter rating: 5/5

So much better than expected - Solar Battery Group are great
They say not to trust companies that advertise by letterbox drops, but after a bit of online research I realised that the offer from for Solar Battery Group was one not to be missed. My order #329590 was so smooth, and they answered all the questions that the online forums said to check on. The process was smooth with great communication, even leaving me enough time to investigate to make sure I was making an informed decision. I now have a great battery, that allows me to store the free energy throughout the day to use when I need it - I even splurged for the blackout protection, so I know my freezer won't thaw out in power outages! Benjamin and the team were professional and knowledgeable from the first enquiry right through to installation. Quote, design and install were all straightforward, and the installers were professional and thorough, leaving everything clean and tidy while following proper safety procedures.
The app has been easy to use day-to-day and works seamlessly with our existing solar and EV charger.

Beware the cheap installer / retailer - Very limited warranty support
At first glance this seems like a reputable company who put together cheap battery systems for residential installation. I should have read this website first before buying a home battery from them.I purchased an Alpha ESS 2.9KW HIVE battery (Storion - SMILE - B3) from them, along with an additional HIVE secondary battery of 2.9KW and it was installed in January 2020. We had problems with the battery not working in March 2020 and getting any kind of sales support from Solar Battery Group was difficult. I ended up threatening to take them to the ACCC. Eventually this problem was resolved and the battery was working fine. We then added another two HIVE 2.9KW additional batteries in January 2022. Figured all companies and products sometimes have glitches and the months of no issues had lulled us into false sense of security.
In April 2026 the batteries simply would not remain connected to wifi no matter how many times we tried to connect, but the battery seemed to be working judging by the lights on the front of each module so we didn't worry about it too much. In late May we got error lights but the particular light configuration was not in the manual. So we couldn't trouble shoot. We called Solar Battery Group in early June 2026 for help.
That was the beginning of the worst customer service I have ever experienced. We ran through trouble shooting over the phone, it didn't work. Was told we would get called back, didn't. When we followed up they asked us to send photos, which we did. Then nothing for weeks. Then they asked us to send photos again... which we did. Then nothing. Then we try to follow up and get told, oh the manufacturer can't see what the issue is as it isn't connected to wifi, so can you do that? We tried connecting the system to wifi over 78 times. Told them this by phone and email. NO SUPPORT OFFERED.
I then wrote and threatened to sue the company if they didn't do what they should have done after phone troubleshooting didn't work and arrange for a technician to come and sort out the issue. I acknowledged that half the system was in warranty and half was out of warranty, and offered to cover some costs if needed. Just needed the battery system operational. It took weeks and again I had to follow up with them to get a technician booked.
Technicians came out on August 24 2026, and after 3 hours on site could not do anything to get the system running. So they switched everything off to make it safer and told us that Solar Battery Group would be in contact with next steps. It is now October 5, 2026 and we have had no contact from them. We still have no working battery system for our solar, and a very expensive wall decoration. Our batteries have not worked now for approximately five months.
I strongly DO NOT RECOMMEND Solar Battery Group or Alpha ESS whose products have failed too close to the end of the warranty date, given the cost of the system. I have written to both again today in the hopes of some resolution but not holding my breath. Will update if I get anything positive out of either company.
