Its Done - A new System Installed.
After a number of quotes and discussions I chose Harris Electrical and Solar Pty Ltd to install a new system on our roof. Specific considerations were made because of our location due to shade for the selection of the panels. The costing of the system was not cheap but promised that it would fulfil our expectations. The team of installers were professional and completed the work within the day. I am looking forward to the rewards of cheaper power costs in the future.23 September 2025
First Class Job with Excellent Results
Harris Electrical were on the ball right from the start. I spoke with Cooper and discussed what system would suit our needs. He put together a quote which we found to be very reasonable.Cooper called me to confirm the installation date and arranged to call by to inspect the site prior to the work. Every time that either Cooper or his crew were coming I received a courtesy text to say they were on the way. They were on time every time. The installation day was very well organised and the team worked like clockwork to bring the system together.
I didn't have to worry about anything with the setup. The Harris team took care of all the red tape involved in connecting to the grid.
I had a couple of issues with the app which monitors the system but a quick chat with Kyle and Cooper soon had it sorted for me.
I would recommend the team at Harris Electrical and Solar to anyone who is in the market. They are happy to help and super reliable.
Install was good. Support doesn't exist.
The battery installation was good, apart from having to blow out brick dust from the inverter and retrieve a screw laying around inside the unit. The mounting and wiring look good, and they did a great job on the solar panels. Sadly, after-sales support is non-existent.A couple of weeks after the system was installed, Sigenergy announced a recall on the inverters. It's been 5 months since then, and I'm still waiting, with no response from Harris.
The gateway was sold with a 10-year warranty, but only shows as having 5 years. This was reported over 5 months ago, and it still hasn't been fixed.
About 3 months ago, during a hot day, the system plug heated up so much that it stunk of burning plastic. This was reported to Harris (and Sigenergy) too. The system continues to smell (slowly fading, but still noticeable), and Harris continue to promise that someone will call me back (about all 3 issues). They never do.
Sigenergy support haven't been much help either, assuring me that the installer will contact me, but unable to answer whether there's a stock supply issue or give any ETA on the replacement.
