Chief Electricians has been powering up Melbourne homes and businesseses since 2016 with grid-connect and off-grid solar and battery systems. The company also supplies and installs EV chargers and air-conditioning systems.

Chief Rule!

Chief clearly know their stuff. The quote process was painless, consultative and informative, and best of all, competitive. Reasonably long documents which they walk you through. Booking in install was easy. Install process was 2 part, someone came out to review our site prior, and confirmed no changes required to quoted details. Installers arrived on day and time agreed, and were prompt tidy and courteous. Post install office team help with rebate and loan docs and grid connection process. And they follow up after to check everything went ok. The only gap was I’d have liked a more detailed handover on how to use the battery, setting up for back to grid times and so on, but that’s being really picky.

A perfect system by a perfect installer.

Adam and his team at Chief Electrical were excellent to work with from the quoting process explaining the different options to the communication with installation details. The installation was overseen by an experienced solar installer with his team of technicians. They were polite, did not leave any mess and managed a two story building with ease. They came back a couple of times to meet the inspector and explain the system to us. Would highly recommend them and have already.

A very professional and trouble free installation

The sales and quoting process was very straightforward and easy. The installation was completed in two days including removing my old solar panels. The installers we're quick and efficient and tidied up any mess from the work. Everything was taken care of, even the grid connection and wifi for the battery. The system has been working well since it was turned on. I'm very happy with it and I would certainly use Chief Electricians again.

Professional installation and responsive after-sales support

Sales / quoting process:
The quoting process was clear, transparent, and well explained. The team took the time to walk through the proposed system and answer questions without any pressure. The information provided made it easy to understand the system size, expected performance, and overall cost.

Installation:
The installation team was punctual, polite, and professional. They worked efficiently and left the site tidy at the end of the job. The installation itself appears to have been completed to a very high standard.

Customer service:
Customer service has been excellent. They helped coordinate the grid connection after installation and made sure I understood how to use the EV charger that was installed at the same time.

At one stage I thought the EV charger might be faulty. The company arranged a follow-up visit and carried out a thorough review of the system. It turned out the issue was related to the car rather than the charger, but they were proactive, thorough, and helpful in checking everything and making sure it was working properly.

Overall, the experience from quoting through installation and follow-up support was smooth and professional. I’m very happy with the outcome and the quality of the work.

Fantastic to work with

Paul was very helpful during the sales and quoting process. It was simple and easy to understand for someone who had no idea. They were also the quickest in getting back to me.

Installation was quick and tidy. There was no mess for me to clean up either. Post installation, everything went well and was handled for me.

My only minor concern was, it was a bit difficult to contact the relevant people post sales. I can only assume due to the increase in demand from the rebate reduction. Overall I still had a great experience and would recommend to others.

Recommend the installer

Quoting process was prompt and efficient. We were kept up to date with installation timeframes. Install went smoothly, with installers being very polite and friendly.
One of the installers dropped by a few days later to explain how the system worked and answer any questions.
Customer service was great, providing updates on what to expect next (inspector, etc) and in generally arranging connection.

Great process from start to finish

The whole process of dealing with Chief Electricians was great from quoting through to installation and commissioning. Adam conducted a thorough site inspection and gave some great advice which saved us money. Paul was thorough and efficient with the quoting process and responsive to our needs without any pressure. The installation was earlier than expected and the team even removed and disposed of our old pool solar system at no extra cost. Installation was quick and efficient. Chief made the process of applying for rebates, getting a safety inspection, and grid connection very easy. Highly recommended!

Chief Electricians did a great job!

Chief Electricians did a great job removing our old solar panels and installing a whole new solar system. The person I first dealt with, on the phone, was very helpful as he was knowledgeable but explained things clearly to me and answered all my questions. All their workers who replaced the solar panels, installed the inverter, battery and covers were very pleasant and tidy and seemed a very happy team. They even gave us a larger component at no extra cost!

Couldn't be happier

A five star performance in all categories by Paul, Adam, and the whole team at Chief Electricians who installed a Tesla Powerwall 3 Inverter/Battery, and an additional 17 Jinko Solar Panels to my house in late January 2026.

The initial consultation and a thorough onsite inspection resulted in the accepted final quote, and they were clear and honest about when they would have availability to perform the installation, and even managed to bring that forward.
They were happy to communicate with the electrician from another firm who were installing a new hot water heat pump system and a ducted A/C system, so that the wiring and switchboard modifications would be compatible to both projects.
The thing that impressed me most was that they said they would arrive at 7.30 am which they did, with a delivery van having arrived earlier with the equipment, and said that they would be finished at 4.30 that day, including instructions being given about the system, and the installing of an App on my mobile phone. The post installation follow up made sure I was happy, and provided all the information I needed to fine tune the system
The whole team were at all times polite, friendly, professional, and efficient. I can highly recommend them.

Excellent solar experience, great panel and battery installation.

During the sales meeting and quoting process, the staff took the time to understand my needs and assist me with detailed information to make an objective decision.

The installation went ahead earlier than expected. It was a seamless process from start to finish. The tradespeople were respectful, clean and courteous. They were able to answer any questions and deal with any concerns.

After installation, the staff responded to emails and calls as required in a very timely manner. They left me confident with the product that I had purchased, knowing that their support was always available.

It was a very neat installation. The cabling was all concealed very well, very professional.

From the very first conversation to the final install, this team was an absolute pleasure to deal with. No pushy sales tactics, no confusing jargon — just honest, helpful advice and genuinely good ideas tailored to our home. They took the time to understand what we actually needed and never once made us feel pressured into anything.
The whole crew was friendly, professional, and a joy to have around. Everyone we spoke to — from the office team to the guys on the roof — was warm, approachable, and easy to talk to. It really felt like they cared about getting the job done right, not just getting it done fast.
They were incredibly respectful of our home throughout the entire installation. The place was left spotless — you’d barely have known they were there. And bonus points for not batting an eye at our dogs! They were completely relaxed and unfazed, which put us at ease straight away.

Great service, smooth install and very helpful post sales.

Quoting service was efficient and helpful from the start, answering any questions I had and helping to co-design a system for our needs. We have a particularly difficult set of requirements due to roof layout and heritage planning laws but they were able to redesign panel layout to match the council guidelines.

The council permit added delays for install timeline but they were very patient and when the permission came through, they were able to do the install quite quickly.

On install day it was smooth and I couldn’t have been happier. They were polite, considerate of any needs I had, tidied up everything after themselves. They were even able to accommodate some small last minute requests I had.

Post install I had one small defect that needed fixing and they came back to fix it very quickly.
They have also been on top of organising my connection, although the Christmas break meant that Jemena is on holiday.

Very happy to recommend them.

Battery upgrade

We recently took advantage of government rebates to add an additional battery to our system. The best value for money was increasing our storage by 50 kWh, bringing the total capacity to 75 kWh.

I also switched our power plan to one that offers three hours of free electricity each day between 11 am and 2 pm, and reconfigured our inverter to force-charge the battery from the grid during this free period. As a result, on most days our battery reaches 100% by 2 pm, regardless of whether conditions are sunny or overcast.

In the three months since the upgrade, we haven’t needed to draw any grid power outside of the free periods. I expect this to continue for around nine months of the year, with off-peak grid power only required during winter due to increased use of our reverse-cycle air conditioning.

Very impressive service and a quality install

Chief Electricians performed our solar panel upgrade mid 2024 so Adam and the team were our first call when it came to our battery installation in December 2025. As with the solar upgrade Adam came and reviewed the installation site and was able to suggest a neat and cost effective switchboard upgrade of our tightly packed original switchboard. The complex installation led by "A" grade electrician Luke was completed over three days by Chief's experienced in-house team. Importantly the job was not rushed but thoroughly thought out and neatly executed. Also importantly the team are all in-house employees, not sub contractors, meaning Chief management have complete control over quality of workmanship and after sales service. As with our solar upgrade I noted how cheerful, hard working and communicative the installation team were leaving us confident of a quality outcome. I have no hesitation in recommending Chief Electricians for your renewables project.

Brilliant, neat and amazing install by Chief Electricians

Okay, so this expereince has been nothing short of amazing with Chief.

I went through multiple quotes from multiple suppliers, but what really impressed me with Chief was the honest, no-nonsense approach by Paul (Solar Consultant) who walked me through all my options and even cautioned me on balancing investment vs expectations and output. I also really like the fact that Chief was a local installer with local crews.

Adam (owner) from Chief was lovely to deal with, and really worked to ensure that what I got was the best outcome. They even manged to squeeze me in ASAP when there was a change in jobs to ensure that I could meet some personal commitments.

The crew was just amazing, they slogged in the sun for 4 days. But were always polite and really nice (I loved the fact that there was no swearing around kids). They also were really neat and tidy at the end of everyday and at the end of the install spent time cleaning and moving everything back to where it was. They really were a lovely bunch who worked relaly well together. The end result was very, very neat.

Adam kept in touch the whole time and has been very responsive to all questions.

Thanks Adam and team, I could not reocmmend them more.

Straightforward, professional, and completed in good time

I was happy the whole process from quote to approval of the work was fast and effective as I wanted to get this year's 2025 STC rates. The installer chaps were polite and good workers. They did turn up an hour late on the first day though. The inspection was arranged by the Chiefs and occurred very soon after the install. It was approved right away and certificate came a day or so later. The system is running well. We had panels installed last year by Chief Electricians in Nov 2024 so we had two separate installations and quotes.

Excellent System Installation Experience

I had a very good experience dealing with Chief Electricians on our recent Solar System Upgrade from a 13 year old 3kW non battery system to a 16kW system with 13.6kWh battery.
Chief Electricians were chosen from the 3 companies recommended by Solar Quotes with my selection based on their response to my query together with their Legendary Rating on Solar Quotes.
While all 3 companies responded very quickly, only Chief Electricians offered a prompt site survey as a basic part of their quotation process, with the owner Adam coming out for the survey.
My initial query predated the battery rebate offer and Chief notified me of the forthcoming rebate and recommended delaying the battery installation part of the system installation until after the start of the rebate.
Naturally all systems installers were very busy due to the rebate introduction and this resulted in small but understandable delay in the system completion and electrical inspection sign-off.
I was very impressed by the scheduling of the installation team by Dylan, the operations manager, both in the accurate timing and scheduling in an extra team to make up for rain delay of a previous installation.
The installation team and Luke, their A-Grade electrician, were very well organised and workmanship was excellent. Also Veronika in the office was very good in keeping me updated, particularly at the end of the process with scheduling inspections and advising on network connection.

Chief Electricians

I recently had a solar system installed by Chief Electricians and the entire experience was nothing short of outstanding. Adam, the owner, came out personally for the site inspection and was fantastic from start to finish. His advice on what system would best suit my household was second to none. What impressed me most was his honesty — instead of trying to oversell, he actually talked me out of going overboard with the number of panels I wanted. His care for both his business and his customers is genuinely rare.

Dylan, the operations manager, ran the process as if it were his own company. His attention to detail and commitment to customer satisfaction absolutely blew me away. I always felt informed, supported, and confident that everything was being handled to the highest standard.

Luke, their A-grade electrician, along with the rest of the installation team, were exceptional. They were neat, tidy, professional, and clearly take real pride in their workmanship. You would struggle to find a more capable or better organised team in the solar industry.
