Toby and Jake started up a new company (Green Line Energy Group Pty Ltd) as co-directors to better reflect our mission to provide trustworthy and honest services for all of our customers in the process of changing their home's power from gas to electric. Our focus will remain on high quality solar as a foundation for going electric and we assure all of our customers past and future, that Green Line Solar hasn't changed in any way.
Green Line Solar was started by Jake and Toby in early 2021 in an attempt to try and gain recognition for the quality, honesty and transparency of the work we do and in the hope of positively impacting the rooftop solar industry in Melbourne. Having sub-contracted as an A grade electrician for numerous businesses over the past 7 years Jake wanted to take control of the entire process rather than just the install. This allows us to be sure of what the customer has been told, promised, and delivered as well as being recognised ourselves for the time and detail we put into each job that we undertook for other businesses.
Since our establishment we have slowly grown through word of mouth, positive reviews and a consistent attention to customer service and quality. With Green Line Solar you know who you will be dealing with, we never subcontract jobs or take on more work than we can handle inhouse, you will only ever deal with Toby or Jake.
Based in Heatherton in the SE suburbs we are a Clean Energy Council approved outfit meaning that we are totally committed to honouring the solar code of conduct and providing high quality service to our customers. We cover the entirety of the Melbourne area, Bellarine and Mornington Peninsulas.
We can help you wade through the mountain of information available and work with you to design the best system for your needs depending on your 3 unique criteria. Budget, Energy Usage and Roof space. We love our work and hope that you can see that in our results.

Consummate Professionals
After months of deliberating I am very happy I chose Green Line Solar for my PV and battery install. These guys take great pride in their work and understand that outstanding service is the key to happy customers.Toby is extremely knowledgeable with the different kinds of PV, inverter and battery hardware, and is very meticulous in planning the location of the panels and inverter. Multiple options were offered, each carefully tailored to different scenarios of budget and PV use. There was never any pressure to buy, and all questions (of which I had many) were patiently answered. Prices were extremely competitive.
Jake is an artist - his electrical work is immaculate. He took care to make sure that everything was lined up, square, and met his high standards. The rest of the install crew were diligent, careful and professional. Everything was cleaned up afterwards.
The inspector was very happy with their work. All paperwork was submitted for grid connection soon after install was completed.

Excellent Service
Right from the beginning, the communication was excellent. Emails, messages, etc were always replied to promptly. The site visit confirmed the initial design and quote. We are so happy that we opted for a smart meter so that the whole energy balance can be seen - a must if you want to maximise your self generation and replace grid power.When installation came around, the crew arrived on time and despite their hard work, weather intervened before the job could be finished. They returned the next working day and completed the job. Everything was left spotlessly clean. After the install, Toby and Jake arranged for the electrical compliance certificate and connection with the DNSP and retailer.
We have no hesitation in recommending Green Line Solar.

Green Line Solar - Well worth it!
From the moment I connected with Green Line Solar I had a great experience. They reached out and organised a time, did a detailed site inspection and created a design to maximise the outcomes I could achieve. Toby understood some specific needs I had given the house is architectural designed and the importance of where the services could be placed. The process was simple to move to installation with easy to follow online instructions. Whilst a lot of groups send people out, Green Line Solar were more than just sales people. Toby knows the products, took to time to look in detail where the installation was going to happen and could answer all my questions. This was a big differentiator for me.The installation team led by Jake was fantastic. They were on time, and are employees/owners of the company. So instead of getting sub-contractors, I was getting a people with a vested interest in doing the right job. The engagement was great - confirming locations, and making sure I was ok with placement. The quality of work was excellent, with attention to detail of how wiring was concealed to make it a very neat job. The systems was up and running at the end of the install and has already started saving me money.
I would highly recommend Green Line solar if you want a great job, excellent communication and people highly invested in creating a great solar experience.

Good communication and tidy install
Quoting for the system was quick and hassle free. Toby was quick to respond to any queries I had and was happy to come and inspect the site before producing a final quote.The install was done by Jake, one of the owners of the company, so you can be assured of a consistent quality install. Jake and his team were punctual and polite. There was a small hiccup with the tilt mounts ordered for the klip lock roof but this was rectified within a few days. The install itself looks clean and tidy to my untrained eye. Cable runs into the inverter were neat and all excess wire under the panels were tied up for a clean look. The team left the site very clean with all dust blown out of the house and foot prints wiped down.
System inspection and grid connection was all organised by Toby and I had no extra admin to do on my end since the install.
So far the system has been working flawlessly and I’m having fun trying to consume as much of my own electricity as possible. Would happily recommend Green Line to anyone!

Exceptional Solar Installation Service
I had the pleasure of working with Toby for the quoting and customer service and Jake's installation team for my solar project. Toby was responsive and helpful, and Jake's team was professional and punctual.Despite a minor incident during installation, a worker knocked over a ladder and made a hole on the garage plaster. Jake promptly addressed the issue, demonstrating their commitment to customer satisfaction.
I highly recommend their service and plan to use them for a future battery installation. Outstanding work!

The A Team for Solar and Service
I had a number of quotes for Solar. I chose Greenline due to their customer service provided by Toby. He took the time to answer my many questions, and designed a system that I am confident will best suit my needs. He also didn't 'over sell' products or the return on investment which I appreciated as it gives me a realistic pay back time frame.Jake and his team arrived on time and installed the system with no fuss or mess left behind. They were polite and answered all my questions ion the day.
I am personally really impressed with the level of customer service. Other installers didn't come to check the roof space and just provided a quote with one follow up call. Toby followed up not to 'hound' me, but to make sure I understood the proposal.
Don't bother shopping around, just call Toby and he will get you sorted!

Great communication, great install
My experience with Green Line solar was amazing. Like actually amazing, no exaggeration. Right from the beginning, Toby's communication stood out. He was always just a call or message away, which made the whole process smooth and stress-free.When it came to the installation itself, I was thoroughly impressed by Jake and his team's craftsmanship. The install was clean, well-executed, and it's clear that they take pride in their work. It's not every day you come across such attention to detail. Even better, everyone was polite, came on time and cleaned up after.
What truly set this experience apart was the consistent communication throughout. From initial planning to final checks, Toby and Jake kept me informed at every step. This level of transparency and involvement really made me feel like a valued customer.
Lastly, let's talk about the price. They were not the cheapest but also not the most expensive. Considering the great experience and craftsmanship, the slight premium is totally worth it.
Overall, I can confidently say that Green Line Solar exceeded my expectations. Green Line Solar - Excellent Service from Start to Finish
Toby and Jake and their team were fantastic with answering all the questions we had (there were many!), providing a quotation that was quick, informative, comprehensive, and competitive, and advising on the process of rebate-application. The installation went without a hitch (PV/battery/inverter) and Jake, Nusy and Teja worked like Trojans onsite to get the job completed despite rain and wind. They're very aware and respectful of customer's property and environment - no boombox! Post-install necessary software upgrades were organised, and we've had good advice on grid connection now the COES has been issued. Fully Professional Installer - Highly Recommend
I have been procrastinating getting solar mostly due to horror stories you hear from poor installation companies. After much research I narrowed down to three companies. Toby from Green Line was very prompt in contacting me and coming to my house and measured up. Within that day I had four email options to consider for my situation and budget. No pressure to go ahead but more than happy to chat and run a couple of scenarios for me as I was considering Pool Heat Pumps. It was a no brainer to proceed with Green Line, the quotation was comparable to other quotes but the individual attention and professionalism was a stand out.Installation was completed by a team of three of which one of owners Jake who were complete professionals from beginning to end. They could of easily placed the invertor in position that was easier to install however suggested placing it in a much better and protected position. I'm a Project Manager by profession of larger scale projects and can recognise quality or poor workmanship and pleased to say that the Green Line installation is of a very high standard.
I may have been super lucky however the electrical inspector arrived the afternoon after the installation and all the compliance paperwork was submitted and grid connection was seamless thereafter with the United Energy and my retailer contacting with the changes.

Great company and excellent service
Our solar purchase from the quote to the installation was done in a week. Green Line Solar were polite and professional from the outset and were helpful and open about the process and products. Exemplary service from start to finish!
I found Green Line solar on solarquotes. I’m so happy I did and I cannot highly recommend Toby and Jake enough.I liked the idea that I dealt directly with the owners of the company, Toby handling the quotation/system design/before and after sales support, and Jake as the installer. No middle people or subcontractors. Their customer service and attention to detail was amazing.
Toby and Jake are honest, genuine and great people to deal with.
Toby made the quotation process easy. Toby is very knowledgeable, patient, and his attention to detail in relation to my individual energy usage and circumstances was impressive. Toby even made a site visit to confirm they could deliver what was promised!
Jake and his team installed the system which looks great and performs great. Quality of the install is second to none. Jake took the time to ensure I was happy with placement of the inverters and the EV charger, and left the garage probably tidier than they found it, taking away all the rubbish and cleaning up after themselves.
My installation included 12.32kw of Jinko panels paired with 2 x 5kw Fronius Gen 24 inverters & a Fronius Wattpilot Go EV charger.

Great experience!
The process from getting a quote to finishing the install was so easy and seamless, thanks to the fantastic communication from Toby and Jake. Perfect customer service. Meticulous installation
The quoting process has been fantastic. Toby made an effort to understand what I wanted out of the solar install and immediately offered to make an onsite visit to measure the roof before quoting. I was very impressed with the design of the solar layout as I have a rather complex roof and with the placement of the panels in landscape position he was able to fit significantly higher number of panels on the roof compared to other quotes I received.On the day of the installation Jake and his team came on time and was very pleasant to work with. Installation was very neat and tidy. The system worked perfectly.

Outstanding from start to finish
I can't recommend Green Line Solar highly enough. Right from the start, the experience was excellent. Toby was great at listening to what I was after and during the site visit he identified a limitation with our roof that none of the other installers I contacted noticed. I had specific objectives and would probably be classed a "fussy customer" ???? but Toby was patient with all my questions and we eventually came up with a great design.Once we were on site, the communication was excellent. Jake made sure we knew what was going to happen, before it happened. When there were choices to be made he guided us through and made sure we understood the different options. He also went above and beyond on a few items, such as leaving our setup all ready for a fast EV charger to be installed. Little things like these make a difference!
They were pleasant to deal with, not pushy at all, the job was neat and tidy and they did what they said they were going to do. They even managed to squeeze our job in sooner than expected. Great experience all round, well done guys!

Professional with Expert Advice and Installation
Initial phone contact and follow up site inspection was informative, answered all my queries and provided all necessary technical information. Explained in a clear and understandable way. Toby followed up and was very helpful in assisting me in making the right choices. Jake and his team were professional and undertook the installation in a very efficient manner and their workmanship and attention to detail was excellent. Yo deal with the people who own and run the business and receive a very personal service. You get what you pay for and price should not be your only consideration. You want a professional quality installation with quality equipment. That is what we got.

Highly Recommended - you won't regret
Toby and Jake are both friendly people, great guys, I immediately knew I was talking to the experts when we talked about our requirements for solar.They were both very informative, explained everything, put my mind at ease and gave me a better understanding of what would work best for our home and our budget.
Toby and Jake helped guide us through the process, sent me a very detailed quotation with all the information, attended site to inspect the property and made the decision a stress-free experience.
They installed the system within 2 weeks and completed in a good time on the day, impressed with the customer service for sure and the Installation is top quality, it looked neat and tidy and we had not issues after.
Their pricing for the system we had installed was reasonable compared to others.
I had many solar quotes and solar sales companies come to our property, around 5 all together, as I am normally very picky with who I get to complete work for me.
We noticed the other companies did not explain enough to us or where pushy.
I would not hesitate to recommend Green Line Solar to anyone who asks me in my personal circle or to anyone else who is considering Green Line Solar to install their system.
I can honestly say they were the contractor I trusted the most to complete our installation due to their transparency and customer service.

Right from the start Toby took a great deal of time to understand what I wanted to achieve and he ensured it would be delivered. He patiently explained to me why some things would not work for me, while others would give me the best result.When it came to the installation Jake and his team were excellent. They arrived on time, kept me informed of anything that may effect me during the process. They worked steadily, displaying their expert and detailed approach. They did not go until the job was complete and up and running to their satisfaction. Almost best of all, they cleaned up after themselves. You would not have known I had solar put in that day.

Toby and Jake have done a great job!
We had quite a few ‘quotes’ from solar companies with mixed results.Toby was the only one who could be bothered to get up on the roof to evaluate shading by nearby trees and topography as a part of site evaluation and quoting . His suggestion of panel layout was innovative and is proving very effective.
We found GreenLine Solars pricing to be very competitive.
Installation of the system was faultless. Jake listened to the way we wanted the inverter positioned and was fastidious with the neatness of cabling. The install team were efficient, tidy and did a great job, they completed the work on the same day.
Toby was quick to followup and kept us informed at all times.
It would be hard to find a more professional team.. Highly Recommended!

Excellent Solar and heat pump hot water install
Greenline Solar were exceptional on all fronts, from the quoting process to after install follow up. Of the 5 installers I spoke to Toby was the only one who followed up and even did a site visit, the site visit was great as Toby was able to redesign the system as the roof area we already had a 10 degree incline, this meant that the size of the system went from 5.2kw to 6.6kw.Toby also did a great job of explaining the process for the install and i was abel to have some unnecessary old gas heating flues removed prior to the install.
Toby's design was using the latest 475w jinko panels and a 5kw sungrow inverter, with 8 optimisers as the roof is west facing and our chimney is on the east side of the panels.
I was impressed that the panel layout was landscape to maximise the amount of panels even though this is more work for the installer.
We discussed Fronius vs Sungrow inverters and in the end i decided sungrow was good enough with the new 10 year warranty.
Overall the price was similar to the other quotes i received but the level of service was well above the others some of which were the highest rated on this site!
As i was getting my old gas heaters removed the plumber informed me that i would need to replace the old galvanised pipes to the hot water system, as this was going to be very expensive i recalled that Toby had discussed heat pump hot water and while i hadn't planned to replace the hot water the price difference between a new heatpump system and the replacement of the pine was $1000 which was easy to justify given the savings i could make by using the timer to ensure the heatpump hot water runs during daytime hours to maximise the use of solar.
Install day with Jake and the team was smooth and painless, the heat pump hot water was installed on the same day so we had a whole system up and running in 1 day.
Jake was good at working with me for the best time to cut the mains so my work meetings would not be impacted and was open to questions and communicated with me throughout the day, Toby even stopped in to see how it was all going.
The plumber Brad did an great job with the heat pump hot water install and even came back the next day to remove the old flue from the gas hot water.
So far the system has been running flawlessly and i'm very happy i got the consumption monitor as the sungrow monitoring has been very helpful in revealing when i'm using energy and allowed me to fine tune the timer for the heat pump hot water so that i'm pretty much not paying for hot water.
Overall i wish all contractors were as good as Greenline Solar, I've already recommended them to friends who were also considering solar.

Exceptional and personal service
From start to finish Green Line solar worked hard to understand our needs and what installation would work best for our property situation whilst being very consultative in delivering a system that we understood.Every aspect of the process was enjoyable and positive we couldn’t recommend them more they were brilliant.

I wanted to get roof solar PV system installed long time ago and from the first interaction with Toby I could tell he was a decent guy who was knowledgeable and very promptly with his response and he is here to help! He made me a proposal of the potential placement of the panels on the roof & quote pretty much on the same day and answered me a bunch of questions patiently.
However I did not go with Green Line Solar at the first place and I regret this decision very much. I was in contact with other companies at the same time and was sold to sign up with another company for slightly cheaper price and fell for the usual sales tricks they played which later on proved to be a big mistake! The company not only did not deliver the services within the agreed timeframe (more than 10 weeks or so) and tried not to give me refund of deposit when I requested to cancel their (no) service! Not until I left a very poor review on their Google Review, there was no response from them at all. I was then threatened to take the review down by the owner otherwise he said he would ask their lawyer to contact me.
I reached out to Toby after this disappointing experience with the other company. He did not hesitate to take me on as a customer and draw up the proposal within a day with the quote. He came over for a quick site inspection and arranged everything needed for installation. He helped me to get all the paperwork sorted and I just needed to laid back and chill! On the day of installation, Jake and the guys turned up on time (actually earlier than the planned time!). Although the installation of the system was more difficult than they thought, they completed the work on the same day with no fuss at all! The system has been up and running since and all the required communications were handled by Green Line Solar efficiently and professionally. Now I am sitting in my room with guilt free air con, it’s all thanks to Green Line Solar! Installation was completed within 3 weeks of acceptance of proposal, how quick was that!
There are many companies to choose from and there are some questionable companies out there! I can definitely say Green Line Solar is one of the best companies you can come across when it comes to rooftop solar! Highly recommended!

A breath of Fresh air amongst a sea of Stink!
I thought I was fairly savvy, until I entered the Solar quoting arena. WOW! Luckily I have a good dose of Cynicism, allowing me to see through the bullsh@#t promises that were forced upon me by other companies, not all, but a high percentage. I was told what to get, where to put the panels, which inverter I "Need" etc... My head was spinning.Then I called Green Line Solar.
Thank god I did. Toby soon came to my house (at my convenience) to politely explain to me, exactly what MY HOME required, to run the most efficiently, for the Money that I was preparing to spend. And after understanding where Toby was coming from, it all made sense. I didn't need a 9.5KW with an 8KW inverter @ $9000 out of pocket. I didn't need Panels on every angle of my particular roof space. I needed what MY HOME would accommodate, efficiently and at a VERY reasonable price. I had better prices from elsewhere, but I didn't need to go there, Toby was the only one to show any interest in coming to my house to have a look and he is a great bloke. It was an easy decision really. Another company had 8 Panels on My Timber pergola (dodgy) without even bothering to come have a look. They all just used google Maps.
So I went with Toby, who I instantly trusted. I can honestly say, that a load was lifted when I decided to go with Green Line Solar.
Enter Jake and the Install day. After Toby seamlessly organised an install within 2 weeks, I met Jake. I have to say, Jake is probably the most honest Tradie/Businessman I have ever come across (Ditto Toby). Not only is he Honest, he's genuinely Nice and he is Extremely good at his job. He and two of the hardest working apprentices I've seen, Nusy and Teja, knocked it out in 1 day, all while dealing admirably with uneducated questions from me every 5 minutes.
With the 14, 475 Watt Jinko Tiger Panels and my new Sungrow 5KW inverter, I couldn't be more happy and I can see the quality.
If you've made it this far into my review, then I suggest you are ready to call Toby and Jake. If you want Honesty, Reliability, Quality workmanship and Zero Bullsh*#t, please call Green Line Solar. If you think I'm making this up, please feel free to request my details from Toby and I will personally advocate for them.
Oh, all that other stuff afterwards is great too, the paperwork etc... Don't even stress about that.

Would highly recommend Jake and Toby for your solar installation. Toby was great in discussing the system options that would be best for us. Took the time to also answer lots of questions in the decision making process and was then excellent at keeping us informed through to installation. Put your mind at ease and go with Greenline Solar!
From the outset Toby was great to deal with and provided great customer service/knowledge of the solar industry and their company values. Initially I found the whole solar process quite overwhelming however Toby really put my mind at ease and gave me the confidence and knowledge to choose Greenline and I’m so glad I did!Install day was much the same with Jake/Toby and crew coming out and putting in a massive day to complete the 31 panel install. You could really tell the team took great pride in delivering a top quality job. The whole install crew were polite and good to deal with on the day, making conversation/polite with my family and young kids. From my perspective I feel like inverter install was neat and tidy (no unsightly conduits) and just looks like it was meant to be. The panels Toby sourced are visually appeasing and teams attention to minor details whilst installing were very much noticed.
I would and have already began recommending Green Line Solar to people interested in Solar. Toby and Jake continue to provide any assistance if I have questions around the inverter etc which I am very pleased with.

Amazing installation with a perfect installer
Toby and Jake at Green Line Solar were both amazing to deal with. I had very little knowledge of solar and they helped me through the process of understanding the system and what I needed to do with the installation and the paperwork prior to that.Their communication couldn't have been better, kept me informed and everything went perfectly to schedule, they were very easy to get a hold of at all times for any questions, comments, or concerns I had. They were extremely accommodating for the set up and install, too.
On the day, they treated my home with respect, acknowledged and took care around my pets, and left everything better than they found it while being quiet, punctual, and polite at all times.
They organised everything I needed and walked me through the process of all connections, applications, and anything else needed to get it all working perfectly, including assisting me with the process of the app installation on my devices so I could keep track of everything.
They did a beautiful job and I couldn't be happier with the result! I never knew solar could be an added aesthetic aspect of a house!

Couldn't Have Asked for a Better Solar Installer
Toby was kind enough to give multiple quotes upon request which we took our time reviewing. There were a few delays from our end on deciding which system to install but Toby was patient with us and we didn't feel pressured into getting the panels installed ASAP unlike some other solar installers around.Prices are very reasonable given the amount of different quotes I grabbed from other solar vendors not just through solarquotes, but through various online ads, a vendor in Costco, etc.
Jake had an energy I can only ever dream to match and managed to provide constant updates throughout the entire 2-day installation process. Once the install was finished, Jake & the boys left everything tidy & clean. Jake even did me a solid and managed to fix our oven which kept tripping and one of the guys managed to replace a few broken tiles on our roof too. Talk about going above and beyond!
I would recommend these guys to anyone.

Excellent communication and service, clearly experts in this space
Our experience was great from our first enquiry when Toby came out to site to inspect the best set up for our property, right the way through to installation and beyond. The guys went above and beyond on the day when our roof caused issues by organising a scissor lift on the spot and by some miracle they manoeuvred it into the backyard to complete the job without any issues. Toby is very transparent and considers future proofing in the set up which is great as other quotes we had wouldn’t even come to site before asking us to sign a contract. Post install we were set up on an app to monitor the system and Toby handled all the paperwork and connections.The team were so professional and polite throughout, leaving the place immaculate. Recommending them to all my friends.

Great service
We found Toby and the team at Greenline Solar to be very easy to deal with. They were patient with our questions to better understand which solar system would best suit out household and were happy to provide multiple quotations for different size systems.The installation went smoothly and we were happy with the outcome. Toby helped through the whole paperwork process to ensure we were fully set up and running.

from the start the service that was provided by the whole team was the best you can think of. Everything was explained to me and the job was fast and clean with no problems. Fantastic experience going solar!
After a fair bit of research and lots of calls from what sounded like noisy call centres and endless emails with "additional special offers" I thankfully came across Toby at Green Line Solar!He was easy to talk to, a wealth of information and understood that this was a significant investment for me.
They created visual mock-ups (I was concerned about the aesthetic / visual impact of the panels), came out on-site to check that what they were proposing was achievable and efficient (from both an operational and installation standpoint) and then completed the necessary paperwork / Solar Vic submission / installation / connection quickly.
At each and every stage Toby was on-hand to answer any questions (even ones I was concerned were silly) and I could not be happier with the outcome – especially since I haven't paid an electricity bill in several months now!
I couldn't recommend Green Line Solar highly enough (especially if you've found the solar panels process overwhelming in the past)!
