"** We have a new ABN as of July 1st 2023. Toby and Jake started up a new company (Green Line Energy Group Pty Ltd) as co-directors to better reflect our mission to provide trustworthy and honest services for all of our customers in the process of changing their home's power from gas to electric.
Our focus will remain on high quality solar as a foundation for going electric and we assure all of our customers past and future, that Green Line Solar hasn't changed in any way.
Green Line Solar was started by Jake and Toby in early 2021 in an attempt to try and gain recognition for the quality, honesty and transparency of the work we do and in the hope of positively impacting the rooftop solar industry in Melbourne.
Having sub-contracted as an A grade electrician for numerous businesses over the past 7 years Jake wanted to take control of the entire process rather than just the install. This allows us to be sure of what the customer has been told, promised, and delivered as well as being recognised ourselves for the time and detail we put into each job that we undertook for other businesses.
Since our establishment we have slowly grown through word of mouth, positive reviews and a consistent attention to customer service and quality. With Green Line Solar you know who you will be dealing with, we never subcontract jobs or take on more work than we can handle in-house, you will only ever deal with Toby or Jake.
Based in Heatherton in the SE suburbs, we are a NETCC approved outfit meaning that we are totally committed to honouring the solar code of conduct and providing high quality service to our customers. We cover the entirety of the Melbourne area, Bellarine and Mornington Peninsulas.
We can help you wade through the mountain of information available and work with you to design the best system for your needs depending on your 3 unique criteria. Budget, Energy Usage and Roof space. We love our work and hope that you can see that in our results."

Fantasic Installer
There were a few hiccups initially when trying to contact Green Line Solar but once the communication was established, Toby was quick to respond my queries and provided relevant and in-depth advice. The quote was competitive and installation date booked in promptly. Toby kept me well informed with each stage from start to finish.On the day of installation, Mitch arrived on time as scheduled and provided clear information regarding what would be done. Mitch and Shawn were very professional in completing their work and left no rubbish behind. Mitch even stayed overtime to ensure the controller and the battery worked properly.
So far, the battery has been working flawlessly with my existing solar panels and I am very happy with the service Green Line Solar has provided. This is the installer that I can recommend without hesitation.

Great advice and great quality of work
We had a fantastic experience with Green Line Solar. We needed both solar panels and an EV fast charger installed, which wasn't a straightforward job given our complex, multi-level roof line. The team provided expert advice from the start and their quoting process was incredibly thorough, ensuring there were no surprises. Greenline were the best choice!
I waited to give my review as I like to see how things go and I have been very impressed. All facets of the process was very smooth, well communicated and extremely well done. I didn't chose Greenline because they were the cheapest quote. Everything they said was spot on, they were very upfront. These guys were extremely professional, and did a fantastic job and the even my silly questions were not a problem. I could tell straight away they take their work seriously. Really good experience with the Green Line Solar team!
Arrived on time and when they said they would. Installation of our battery was troublefree, and they pointed out a couple of issues with our existing solar panels. They were able to install our battery in the location we wanted and the inspector passed our installation with no issues.Supplier Reply:

Excellent customer service from quote to installation
I was more than satisfied with the service from Green Line Solar. Toby patiently worked up 5 or 6 different options and talked through the pros and cons of each as I came up to speed with what would work best for us. There was no sales pressure, but every opportunity to ask questions at each stage of the process. He also arranged the grid connection (not helped by me changing electricity suppliers part way through!).As this was a new build, Jake worked with our builder to prewire the DC cabling from the roof to the garage while the house was still at frame stage in preparation for the solar panels and battery to be installed after handover.
The installation itself was particularly smooth. The team were punctual, polite and professional even though it was a 40 degree day!
I have been pleased to recommend Green Line Solar to friends who are looking at solar.

Very professional
We worked with Green Line Solar on replacing our old solar panels with a larger system and battery.They were very professional and helpful, turned up when they said with a great team and were super efficient.
Also very patient working through our questions, and following up afterwards.

Professionalism in all facets of solar power
The guys at Green Line Solar were so professional in all of the steps to introduce me to solar power.Toby and Jake answered turned up on time, answered all my questions and their work was top quality. They also cleaned up exceptionally well.
The guys were so easy to talk with.
Since installation I have had no problems with the panels nor the battery.

Very knowledgable and high quality service
I found them due to their high reviews and they definitely delivered. From our initial conversation you could tell how knowledgable they were and the effort and pride they put into their work. They were extremely easy and flexible to deal with and even though it was a 34 degree day, they went out of their way to complete the install in a professional manner and left the job site like they were never there. Professional Installers.
Extremely happy with installation of 25 REC 460W panels (replacing >10 year old 5.3kW panel system), 24kWh Sigenergy battery with 15kW 3-phase inverter and whole house blackout protection. Responses from companies contacted through SolarQuotes were very poor. All wanted upfront deposits without a site visit. You're basically communicating with sales people rather than installers. A few more online searches found Green Line Solar with many positive reviews. Toby organised 2 site visits to our difficult site before finalising a design that could work. Jake and team installed the entire system in a day. Has been functioning perfectly, with the inspector commenting on the quality of the work. Will be using Green Line Solar again when we get an EV and need a charger installed. Thoroughly professional and reliable installers.Panel rating: 5/5

Can't go wrong with Green Line Solar
Toby was very responsive during the Sales/Quoting Process. He will give you several setup options to suit your needs and budget. He is also very accomodating in making tweaks to the solar system you want to build, or with any questions regarding the quote, products, etc. He is not pushy with brands and will respect what the customer wants.Jake was in charge of the installation. The installation had one hiccup which was not their fault, and he was very transparent with problem. He was quick to give an alternative that still met our standards.
Before and after customer service are awesome also. Our system is more than 6 months old, but Toby is still responsive whenever I shoot him an email or text message.
I would definitely recommend Green Line Solar to anyone, and I would definitely get them again.

Exceptional Customer Sevice!
Greenline Solar has done an exceptional job installing our solar and battery system. From the very first discussion through to the final installation, Toby, Jake, and the entire team consistently delivered outstanding customer service. They took the time to explain every part of the process clearly and were always patient with any follow-up questions. They’re genuinely down-to-earth people who are truly committed to helping their customers.I contacted several installers after reading the positive reviews on SolarQuotes, but Greenline Solar stood out immediately for their sincerity and honesty. Toby even visited our site in person while the house was still under construction, before providing us with a quote. His quote was fair, competitive, and completely transparent—no jargon, no pressure.
What gave us even more confidence was knowing that Jake himself carries out the installation rather than passing the job on to someone else. We couldn’t have asked for anyone more reliable to handle such an important part of our all-electric home. We even requested them do the installation of EV charger.

Great Installer and Design
I requested six proposals for my solar upgrade and received six different solutions. Several were clearly cookie cutter one size fits all proposals that got binned immediately, one didn't even listen to the brief, then there are the installers who hear the basics then jump in before hearing the detail - Note to installers, if you can't be bothered even listening to what the customer is trying to achieve, what is the likelihood of them getting the solution they want? This is where Greenline Solar stood out and secured my business. During the development stage, Toby listened to what I wanted to achieve beyond basics of capacity, came up with a solution, put it to me to scrutinise, I got to ask questions that sometime required research on his part and eventually a shortlist of three proposals for me to choose from. It was this level of collaboration, patience and commitment that got my signature. Every part of the system could be qualified and justified. Initially I thought I'd get a few quotes and boom job done, but the research phase took a lot longer than anticipated and I wouldn't change that because the result is fit for purpose. After the groundwork is done, the install is easy and the result is all but guaranteed.Jake and his install team turned up as planned, on time and worked like champs on what was in places a challenging install. They asked questions rather than making assumptions, ran to schedule and cleaned up after themselves. What more could you ask?
If you take away one thing from this review it's this. Any installer can install whatever panels, inverter, battery etc you spec based on your research or their opinion, then walk away - tick the boxes and away they go. For some this is ok. What you will get from Greenline Solar is that extra effort, time, commitment and integrity. I'd use them again in a heartbeat and recommend them without reservation.

Excellent Sigenergy battery, EV DC charger and solar panel installation
The Green Line Solar team was excellent throughout the whole process, from quoting on-site to delivery and providing me with a manual after commissioning. I have worked with many trades, and the Green Line team is very neat, clean, and clearly takes pride in the work they do. I felt confident during installation, as the communication was clear and concise. Any adjustments were advised and sought my permission before continuing.I was very happy with the backup and EV charging testing before handover. The filing of the necessary paperwork was quite seamless and well prepared, making admin a breeze. A big thank you to the Green Line Solar team!

Excellent service, start to finish. Green Line delivered an outstanding solution to our needs.
From the first phone call, Toby was very helpful, knowledgeable and responsive to our needs and queries. Explaining systems and requirements to us in a clear and patient manner that made our decision making process much easier. Also helped us organise a mains upgrade for optimal performance. On installation, Jake and the team were very professional and thorough, with great attention to detail and a quality result. From start to finish, the team were polite, punctual and available to answer questions. We are very happy with our system, and the process and journey from start to finish. As an Electrical Engineer this is the PV System and Installer I think is perfect!

First the panels, now the battery
I had Toby & Jake install my solar system almost 2 years ago. I was so impressed by the service (Toby took a lot of time to answer my many questions) that I went directly to Green Line Solar when the time came to add a battery. Toby again explained everything in plain language and got me a great deal on my new Sungrow battery. Jake and his team just finished the install today (about 5 hours work). As always his team were polite, efficient and did a great job. Great Install and Customer Service
Toby and Jake answered all of my questions and presented me with a range of options bespoke to my property and my energy needs.They conducted a site inspection to verify their design and quickly followed up on any issues I had.
They kept me in the loop at all times during the process.
