Venergy Story:  

Venergy was founded in 2009 by Matthew Wilkins, an electrician from the Murraylands, South Australia. Working with local farmers, Matt developed a deep appreciation for hard work, integrity, and practical solutions - values that became the foundation of Venergy.

Great until deposit paid

Venergy provided the best presale service I had from the people I asked for quotes.

After that though the lack of communication and delays have been frustrating. I'm constantly chasing them for updates on an installation date. I will post dates as a guide for others.

Venergy install of a new solar system

Venergy provided excellent customer service during the quote process. After accepting their quote out of 4 quotes received they arranged an installation date promptly, the install was done within a day including the dismantling of the old solar system. The Inspector has just visited and signed off and turned on the new system. So very happy with the process from quote to install and can now enjoy the power being generated by the new larger solar system. Original ratings

The new system has performed to our expectations we formerly only had 6 panels and now we have 15 panels which generates additional electricity so that we rarely have to use the grid during the daytime

Very happy chappy

I did a lot of research before I chose Venergy as the supplier/installer of my new inverter/battery system and it was time well spent. I used Solar quotes for some tried and tested people and they were all very helpful. It finally came down to what I felt offered the best price, the best product and who offered the best after sales service/warranty.
I settled on Venergy because Luke from Venergy went out of his way to answer my questions and made sure that I was completely satisfied with the product.

There was a small time lag between acceptance of the quote and the installation due to having to register the system as a VPN with the State Government to access the State Government rebate but once that came through everything proceeded smoothly. Within a week the installers arrived and started work.

The installation went very smoothly and the team obviously knew their business as they worked with a minimum of fuss like a well oiled machine. I supervised them every step of the way.

Before leaving they cleaned up the site and took away all of the boxes and plastic. They also put the App on my phone so that I can track the performance of my system and set everything up for me. I know my system is monitorred by Venergy but I can also check on how it is going myself.

I am a very Happy Chappy. Thank you Venergy!

Really simple process and happy with the outcome

I was looking to take advantage of the battery rebates and got quotes from three providers to add on a battery to my existing solar system; Venergy provided me with what I thought was the best value option, along with a really quick timeline to install.

The installers were punctual and the install is clean, and I've been happy with the performance since it was complete.

Good quoting bad follow up worse ending

My choice of Venergy was due to these factors: glowing reviews on the internet, my trust in Solarquotes, competitive quote, and a bad impression left by another quoting company. It turned out to be a horrible experience. I can't discount what other customers said, so I guess I was just unlucky.

My initial impression of Venergy was really good. The consultant was very friendly and responsive. He convinced me that they did not need a site inspection because they have Google maps and had done thousands of jobs in Victoria and even big commercial projects. The problem was they did not foresee the need of scaffolding, and Worksafe happened to be doing their rounds in the middle of the install. They were issued a stop work notice and the project was stalled. In the end I had a very unpleasant cost blowout and a delayed completion.

Another unpleasant thing was I followed the advice I read on the Solarquotes website and asked for a cover for the inverter. The consultant did not say it would cost extra. He said no problem they would include it. When I found that it is not mentioned in the quote I raised the issue and he just kept saying to leave it with him. When the install team was here, I asked again and they said they heard nothing about it. I rang the consultant and he still said to leave it with him. After the installation was complete, I took this up with the manager. He said these things are not free. My question was if it wasn't free, why did the consultant offered to include it. He could have just quoted it and I could decide to have it or not have it. The manager said to leave it with him. It's now been a week and all I had was silence. I understand a cover is not absolutely necessary, but promises not kept just leave a really bad impression.

Summary of my Venergy experience: Consultant needed constant chasing up for missing things. Over-promise and under-deliver. Install team were subcontractors but they were punctual, polite and tidy. However, so far I still haven't had instructions given to me after the installation. Sungrow does not really have helpful user manuals. (I found it in the app but it opened to nothing.) The contractor made an appointment to come back but did not show up. System and car charger is working but I relied on myself to install the app and figure out what everything means and how to charge the car. Retailer paper work and meter reconfiguration pending at this stage.

Clear and easy to navigate

The person on phone was clear and supportive. I had the same person in contact throughout process, friendly and could answer all my questions.
The team installing were helpful and followed through on everything they said they would. Also very friendly, punctual, all the aspects you’d hope for!
The quote was comparable.

Good Job Venergy

Overall a very professional installation.
The sales consultant visited home and gave me explanations of the process followed up with the quote.
The installation was very well done and the technicians were impressive with their skills handling the steep roofs.
System now seems to be working well and the wifi app gives an interesting feedback on daily usage.
V energy is highly recommended.

Good resolution after delays.

I reported a 318 DC back current fault on my inverter that went unresolved for over 5 weeks, leading to a loss in solar generation. Initially, I was told delays were due to the workload from new battery installs, which made me feel that existing customers were not being prioritised.

After raising my concerns, the CEO personally contacted me and arranged for an electrician to fix the fault the very next day. I genuinely appreciate the quick action and goodwill once it was escalated.

Overall, I’m satisfied with the outcome and hope Venergy continues to improve their after-sales support so customers receive timely service without needing to escalate issues.

Excellent service from start to finish

I received 3 excellent quotes but Andrew at Venergy went the furthest to reassure me my shading issue was addressed and came up with a really good design which maximised winter production with least cost for 17kW. Installer Ben and crew did a great job squeezing all the panels in. They look beautiful - the inverter and battery likewise. Venergy quickly adjusted the quote to account for the new battery rebate. I got a sense of quality and attention to detail from all my interactions with Venergy, as well as the install itself, and heartily recommend them.

My experience with Venergy has been really great, and in particular a big shout out to Paul from sales. James was great too and was very fast to respond to a follow up query on the after installation side of things, resolved it the next day - thank you so much. From my initial query to installation or the panels and ev charger, I am very happy with the service provided. Paul is awesome after sales - provided and still does amazing customer service, helpful, informative, knowledge is amazing - answering all my calls, even on weekends! questions and issues, listening/addressing all my queries/concerns and everything proceeded smoothly - very thankful . It has been almost a month since we had our solar system installed and everything is working as expected.

Also, I was blown away when I spoke to SA power networks - when I called them to check about their fine print with flexible exports, being on 3 phase and more info on how the wifi worked, they placed VEnergy in very high regards - respect…

Excellent work

Got my first $0 electricity bill after solar panel and battery installation. Couldn’t be more happier.

From installers who said solar panels cannot be installed on our roof top to others who quoted for a less kW system, VEnergy worked with what we got and helped to install maximum panels possible for a 9.6kW system.

The sales person was extremely knowledgeable, helpful and polite.

Will 100% recommend VEnergy.

Professional from start to finish

The sales process and quoting was quick and they provided all the information I needed both by email and explained it over the phone. I was pleasantly surprised that they followed up with phone calls to introduce each member of the team and do proper handovers as it progressed through the process. I'm in the final stages of meter configuration with the energy retailer, so far it's been a very easy process.

Fantastic installer

I received a call from Paul Reynolds of Venergy and went through the process of the systems he recommended. After a thorough briefing, he sent a quote for 3 options. I had a discussion with my son and decided on second option which was for a6.6kw system with hybrid inverter
The installation was scheduled for today 31st January from 7am. They arrived promptly and went ahead with the installation. Staff members were polite and efficient
Upon completion , I was asked to download the iCloudSolar app and shown how the systems work. I was also advised to call them if I need further assistance. I am now waiting for official commissioning of the systems in 10 working days time. Very pleased with the whole process which went smoothly

Venergy was great to deal with and went the extra mile

It was really great dealing with Venergy. They helped me with all my questions (and I had a lot!) and when it came time to install, the guys were really great to deal with. They even helped replace roof tiles that were cracked by taking ones from under the solar panels and putting them where the cracked tiles were, and putting spares I had (of a different colour) under the solar panels. So they didn't just install the solar, but improved my roof too!
After the install, there was a weird buzzing noise coming from the solar inverter. I sent an email to my sales person, got a call from them, and a few hours later, they remotely updated the configuration of the inverter and solved the issue. Now it's working flawlessly. I highly recommend them.

They were the first company to call me after I have submitted quote requests.
Our consultant Todd, took his time to explain how the system works and has convinced me that they are dedicating the cost to quality installation service and customer service.
He also showed his passion to help make the whole process smooth and speedy, in which they have made it happen on time despite my tight schedule so that I could enjoy the rebates fully.
On the day of installation, 3 technicians arrived on time and finished the whole process in 4 hours. They have also cleaned up the area and collected the rubbish. They have taught me how to use the app and everything went smoothly.

Exceptional First Consultation that set the tone

The initial sales person (Mark) was exceptional. When it came to explaining the process and what they took care of he provided more detail and information than the other consultations I had. Whilst no doubt the other companies offered the same thing, Venergy provided a very helpful and informative first conversation which set the tone. Before receiving any quotes back, I said to my partner, I already know who we are getting our install from.

Installation went well apart from accidental damage to our ceiling which they then sent someone out to repair once we had raised it promptly. Still going strong, great customer service

Venergy installed our system in December 2022, install was efficient, on time and very tidy. After nearly 2 years it continues to perform as promised.
Recently decided to change energy providers and needed some info for the sign up, contacted Matt who remembered the install and was more than happy to help with my questions even though there was no opportunity for new business at the time.
I have and will continue to recommend Venergy to anyone that asks me about solar given my experience with the team, and the way my system delivers.

Responsive service and good design of solar system

Venergy were very responsive when the request for quote went out and rang to discuss aspects and options. I had provided a fair amount of information and I felt they had listened to that and responded with an effective design. Very happy with installers who were both quick and effective (Cowlec).
The rep at Venergy was able to come up with alternatives very quickly and were receptive to calls and queries. Post install everything happened with minor involvement on my part. The smart monitor allows easy tracking of kw produced and I am pleased with what it is producing.

seamless process from quote to install

I got 2 referrals from Solar Quotes and 1 of my own. They all ended up quoting very similar systems with very similar pricing but the reason I went with Venergy was they listened to what I wanted and gave me 3 system options.
they answered every question and concern in a timely manner.
They have a very systematic system to let you know what is going on and what to expect next with time frames.
as Venergy are based in SA (I am in VIC) they used a install partner that were very professional.
they removed my old 6kw system and installed the new 17.6Kw in 1.5 days.
the electrical inspection was 2 days latter and I was online tracking my power .

I am very happy with the whole experience and thank you to Solar quotes for the information on his website, YouTube videos so I could feel empowered to ask the right questions and understand the answers.

Almost Ideal

Venergy offered the most complete service with a competitive quote. I was kept up to date with the progress and when the installation started the crew was great, punctual professional, tidy and happy to answer my questions. New smart meter was installed the day after. Unfortunately, the work could not be completed because wrong connectors between the inverter and battery had been supplied. Fine, I was happy to wait till the following week. I'm still waiting for the inverter to be connected to the battery because I discovered, after I called to chase up, that the people who start the job need to complete the work but it turns out they are on leave. Manager immediately offered a $200 gift card as recompense but I still have no ETA for completion.

Overall a reasonable install, disappointed with unknown subcontractors

Sales/quoting was fantastic, so were the reviews of the installer, these were the main reasons I went with this installer. Wasn’t too fussed with price, I went with the installer with the best reviews.
What I wasn’t told was that the installer sub-contracts some of their work out. Very disappointed that this was the case, considering I based the selection of the company on their reviews, not an unknown subbie.
Would not have selected this company if I knew this was the case.
Electricians left cable ties, offcuts of wires and pieces of cardboard in my garden, how hard is it to clean that up?
Sparkies didn’t use any kind of edge protection when installing roof panels, glad they didn’t fall off the roof and hurt themselves. Luckily Worksafe weren’t doing their rounds…
Would not recommend the company I purchased through (Venergy Pakenham), you had me at sales, lost me at sub-contracted install.

Excellent company to deal with

James is an excellent communicator and helped me along the way with every part of the process, even when I wanted to make changes more than once. He made the changes on the fly and I got the new quote within seconds.
