Excellent Installer
I Want Energy was a pleasure to deal with in getting our new solar installation. They were very helpful in taking us through the various options available. Once we'd decided on the system, the install process was communicated well, handled efficiently and professionally. Have no hesitation in recommending them.11 August 2026
Great installer and a smooth process
I Want Energy (IWE) in Hobart was one of three installers recommended by SolarQuotes, and they contacted us promptly on the same morning. Craig Clark looked after the whole quoting process that included 9kW of solar panels and a 24kWh battery with back-up capability. There was an initial phone consult, then a visit to the showroom to view various solar and battery types, followed by an on-site inspection of our house. Everything was very smoothly done, on-time and professional. On the day of the actual install we had a large team arrive at 7:30am from IWE and everything was completed by late afternoon. The guys were polite and considerate, and their team leaders (one on the roof, and one for the electrics) kept us in the loop about what was happening during the day, plus being careful with access to the house. IWE also organised the changes to the grid connection which included a visit by an Aurora electrician in the following week. The whole process went very smoothly and we are very happy with our solar panel / battery purchase. IWE has also followed up with us since the installation to check all is OK, which includes the ability to speak with their technical team if we have any questions.Panel rating: 5/5

Reliable and good customer service
Very good to work with. Good customer service and excellent communication throughout the whole process. Installation of system was very tidy. The grid connection was organised by the company without any problems. So far the whole system works very well. Very happy with everything. I also liked that I Want Energy provided good sales advice, and stayed within our requirements. They did not push a sale as other companies tried to do. Reliable, clear and helpful at all stages!
We were impressed by the professionalism right from first contact up to installation and with the couple of interactions since.The date was set for installation about 6 weeks ahead and all went to plan. A substantial team arrived and completed the task leaving no mess and with neat and functional positioning and installation. Explanations were quite short but they have been good with any questions for clarification since then. We have been pleased with the advice they gave and the final product! Performance is currently ahead of predicted figures.
I am very happy to recommend them for their advice, planning, communication and installation.

Highly recommend I Want Energy.
Highly recommend I Want Energy. The cost was competitive. They were very patient and helpful as we clarified the solar, battery, and EV charger solution that I wanted. The installation was done on time and to a high standard. All the team were very professional and helpful. They also installed 2 additional battery modules 8 months after the initial installation and that was a great experience also.Panel rating: 5/5

Solar system
The quote overlooked battery installing specifications so we had to make two concrete slabs for the battery. The installers only took 2 days to install instead of the quoted three. But they started to attach the car charger too close to the back door, moved it at our request and left 3 holes in the wall. The customer service was good: the manager had to stay back after dark to make sure everything worked ok.EV Charger rating: 5/5

Very impressive with the team at installation.
Can’t fault the company. Always stayed in touch, returned phone calls, always polite and friendly.The team who did the installation were happy, polite and professional. No mess, no delays and no problems.
Super impressed by the entire ‘deal’.
Only thing that worried me was paying so much money upfront… that made me very nervous if there was going to be a ‘no show’.
I asked around about the company and was told by many that they would deliver and they were quite a ‘big player’ in the solar market so that eased my concerns somewhat.
Anyway, everything turned out brilliantly!
The head electrician was focused and switched on… I think that’s why the team was so amazing; they had a good leader!

Great and fast installation
The quoting process was efficient and straight forward. The installers we're polite and on time and we're finished on the day. They showed me how to use the battery and inverter and answered my questions about post install steps with my energy provider.10 December 2025
Excellent Solar system
Absolutely great solar system.The quoting & sales process was professional & easy to understand.
The installation was fantastic, right on time as advised with a great friendly crew of very experienced men & of a very high quality standard of workmanship & care taken to make the cable runs, the panels, Inverter gateway & batteries look their very best.
The grid connection went seamlessly, & instant power generation shown on the phone app before the team left was amazing.
We have never used grid power since connection, & exporting electricity constantly back to the grid.

Great service
'I want energy' provided good and frank advice ... this was really appreciated. The sales/quoting process was hassle free.The installation went well noting we have a concrete tiled roof on an old house. Polite, Tidy, and Punctual
The installer helped organise the grid connection after the install, and showed me how to use the cool 'iSolarCloud' app.
Installation was neat and precise. We were able to work together to achieve the work I wanted.
Sales and quoting were very good as I came back to them on several occasions as we modified our needs after hearing quotes from other companies.A great crew of guys with one lot doing the panel rails, panels and cabling and the sparky putting in the connections to the main panel and installing the smaller isolation panel as well as the invertor and battery connections. They were late starting the first day as they had another job to finish off but had finished the job early on the second day. It was a 2 day planned install so it was good. As with all electrical work there were odds and ends of wire offcuts but generally all mess and packaging was removed from the site.
Because we already had a smart meter, the system was able to be get operational directly after install. The company handled the paperwork with Tasnetworks and Aurora Energy and organised the myriad other requirements.
The operation of the app was shown and explained and on one occasion I have visited their office to get a minor change done to the timing of grid charge.
