RenewCo Solar was founded in March 2021 in NSW by father-and-son team Mark Summerville and Mathew Summerville. Servicing the Sydney area, RenewCo supplies and installs solar power systems, battery storage, EV chargers, and heat pump hot water systems. RenewCo Solar is an NETCC and SAA approved engineering and installation organisation dedicated to one outcome: long-term energy independence for Australian homes and businesses.

In 2025, we welcomed Better Call Solar into the RenewCo Energy group, combining their six-star boutique service with our award-winning scale. The merger gives clients the best of the best in solar and battery solutions. We have also expanded our workforce model to meet growing demand. While our core team of 50 in-house staff remains, we now employ a hybrid model, partnering with select expert contractors to increase our installation and support capabilities. This hybrid approach allows us to serve more customers without compromising on quality or service.

Solar Installation

The quoter was informative, happy to answer any questions and very patient. He was also prepared to adjust the components at my request. The installers arrived at the time I was advised and were very pleasant and tidy. The company advised me electricity supplier of the installation.
After sales has been excellent promptly answering all queries I have had.
I had at least 5 quotes, all of which were vetted by an independent expert before I chose RenewCo. I chose them for the quality of the components and reasonable cost and best suiting my requirements.
There was a 3 1/2 month wait for installation date from acceptance of quote but I was advised of that on day of quote

A very bad experience, RenewCo Solar is taking in deposits but technically not able to execute the service. They will not return the deposit made nor compensate for damages.

Sales/Quoting was initially very responsive and professional. Once the deposit is made, it appears they are absent and you will have to chase them.
Eventually the installation could not be performed by them due to inadequate initial assessment and technical challenges. RenewCo Solar is not returning my messages and is not returning the deposit I made. Really bad customer engagement and experience.

Great experience

Had a great experience with RenewCo Solar in Sydney. Sales process was to my timing, open, and leveraged the battery and panel rebates. Installation was on time and professional. The one area that could have been improved was the communication in respect to letting me know when my current energy provider had ok'd the install (it took over 1 mth before i could switch providers). All other aspects of the process were highly professional, and I was very happy.

Excellent Experience with RenewCo Solar

I am extremely satisfied with the experience RenewCo Solar provided.
I contacted a total of three companies from the SolarQuotes website for quotes on Solar Batteries. All three responded quite quickly via a return email, but RenewCo Solar was one of two of these companies, who took the time for a personal visit and site inspection at my house.
Kurt, the RenewCo Solar rep, was very approachable, knowledgeable and took time to answer all my questions.
Once all the quotes were in, I decided on RenewCo Solar, due to their competitive pricing and availability of stock of the Sigenergy battery brand, which I have decided on.
RenewCo Solar then moved swiftly with supplying an installation date.
The installation team showed up on time, installed the battery & bollards promptly and with the least visible impact. Once installed, the installation team explained all the necessary points of the App connected to the battery to me.
All in all, it only took a couple hours to install the battery and get the whole system up and working.
I was very impressed with the overall experience I had with RenewCo Solar and can highly recommend the company to anyone who is looking for a competitive and stress free experience.

Fantastic job

System was designed to suit my needs and so I'm happy to report that it does the job 100%.
Installation took just a day, by the time I got back from work it was all done and running.
I've seen some questionable installations in my time and naturally was a bit worried, but with this crew there is nothing to worry about. Neat cable routing, properly alligned solar panels, secure battery montage, clean and tidy. I'm a tidy tradesman myself and I do appreciate when other trades put effort and pride in ther work.

Great experience from sale to install to now

My experience with RenewCo was great, from my first chat with their team, to meeting with Matt and their entire install team. A tiny hiccup during install which was remedied inside an hour and I was so impressed with the way they operate and put my needs first. Customer service post-install has also been great. I kept in touch with Matt directly, as well as their support team, who were super responsive in discussing a quick technical fix and also energy plans which might better suit our needs. Would strongly recommend.

RenewCo Solar - Battery Installation

The team were punctual, knowledgeable about their product as well as my existing solar setup. The quoting process was easy, uncomplicated and provided same day (which was helpful as it was Friday).

Install date was locked in early and the team turned up on time and did a fantastic job integrating to my existing solar setup and switch board. End result looked great as well.

Installer helped me install the control app and showed me how to use it. Communications throughout the process was excellent and the sales team went above and beyond to answer all my questions. The team also went above and beyond to help with a problem with my existing solar inverter even though they didn’t install it.

We did knock down rebuild 5 years ago and have dealt with a lot of trades, some good some not so good. I highly recommend the team from RenewCo.

A great experience with RenewCo

We had an excellent experience with RenewCo Solar. Todd handled the quoting process well, providing helpful advice and good follow-up. The installation team headed by Cory did a fabulous job, doing everything I requested, with everything neatly installed, no mess and no roof tile breakages. The system, including a Sigenergy battery and Canadian Solar panels is performing superbly. While we had to wait a few months for our installation - understandable given the demand right now - it was definitely worth it. Thanks guys.

Quality and Competitive

RenewCo installed our Sig batteries and gateway in August. Very responsive and helpful sales support. Extremely busy time, but admin team still did well to communicate as much as they could during install process. Excellent product, everything worked well. A few little things post install have been addressed by service team.

High quality installation and superior customer service

The entire battery installation process with RenewCo Solar was and is still flawless. From the first site visit through to my many questions about things I didn't understand were handled with care and professionalism. They gave me several ways to contact them and they went to great length to give me solutions to the things I wanted to do. My only regret is I didn't get them to install my solar 3 years ago.

Waiting for Installation

The sales/quoting process was very good. A site visit took place and all my questions were answered. I signed up and paid a deposit on 11 November 2025. The salesman said installations were taking to the end of February and someone would contact me within a couple of weeks to let me know the installation date. I was okay with as the rebate has stretched a lot of companies. I got a welcome email 3 days later and then nothing. I had to follow up twice to get a date and am now having to wait until 24 March 2026.

So far I am a bit frustrated, but hopefully the company will get a cancellation and I will be able to have the installation brought forward.

I will update this review as the installation progresses.

Lacking attention to detail, craftsmanship, and follow through

Sales and quoting was fine but installation and support has been disappointing.

Our installation was deemed "easy" due to ground level access in the garage and short cable runs. We have an existing PV system but hired RenewCo to add a Sigen battery.

Lack of planning and a rushed schedule led to many mistakes, including improperly drilled holes in load bearing walls and unused holes in mains enclosure. 50% of holes drilled were caulked over using Sikaflex. Isolator switch mounted upside down. New PV strings from isolator switches wired backwards. Sloppy and rushed conduit work.

On the second day of installation, wiring was "finished" and system activated. Guys left but 3 of the 4 PV strings weren't working. After initially brushing this off as a warranty issue with Sigenergy, I continued to escalate with support they came back and fixed the remaining PV strings on a 3rd installation visit.

Since then I've received no concrete timeline for when the installation will be finished. A number of items remain including: STC certification, code compliance, fixing mistakes like sealing up the extra holes in the mains enclosure, etc. This was meant to be a half day job, but installation is still not complete over a month and 3 visits from the initial installation date.

Most of the issues stem from the original installation team, who did not communicate well and rushed to attempt completing the install in a half day even though they arrived 2 hours late.

For a company that proclaims to have exceptional after sales support, my experience has been the opposite. I have had to chase RenewCo through every step.

Given my experience, I do not recommend RenewCo solar. If you do choose to work with RenewCo, ask for an experienced installation team, request a morning time slot, and get a detailed design run-through before the first hole is drilled.

Fantastic company, super professional

I chose RenewCo Solar as their sales person was the most knowledgeable and willing to put the time and effort to calculate and explain to me exactly what I need in my circumstances. My only little complain would be that they’re waiting list for installation was more then two months long but eventually I am happy I waited as they provide great service. Highly recommended!

Great customer focused company

Sales and quoting:
Ultimately RenewCo had the cheapest price (for the grade of system) but after comparing other quoted systems decided that the Sigenergy and REC panels was the best system within my budget. RenewCo also offered options for next tier down panels.
RenewCo had quoted when both state and federal battery rebates were in place, but then the state (NSW) removed their rebate, Renewco adjusted their offer to lessen (share) the impact of the reduced rebates by upgrading the battery storage.

Installation:
Worked with me around other factors.
RenewCo removed the old PV system, then my solar hot system failed and I replace with a heat pump, Renewco also removed the old hot water panels. And then worked around my roofer doing a roof clean and restoration.
Installation crew showed up on time, polite and efficient, system was online by mid afternoon (1 day install).

Everyone I dealt with was friendly and professional, answered all my questions.

Great sales and quoting process and seamless installation

RenewCo Solar was very helpful in tailoring a solar and battery solution which met my energy savings goals. We worked together to develop something that I was very happy with.

They kept me thoroughly informed throughout the whole process, and the installation was completed within the day with no issues.

New Install of Battery & Solar

* Good detail on quote
* Pricing was within expected range for a good installer
* Whatsapp group for questions and answers before, during and after installation
* Big group of trades showed up on install day on time and kept going until all was done. Site wa cleaned and no parts were left behind. It was a long day (nearly 12 hours beginning to end).
* System was explained after install and final compliance signatures were only done at the very end.
* Electrical board changes were walked through including no master cut offs and individual isolation switches. All installation looked professional.

Quality installation and service

The quoting process was easy. I had a rep attend my property to see the site and explain to me how RenewCo Solar system work and the various options. I was impressed with his knowledge. I obtained other quotes but went with RenewCo mainly because they instilled more confidence in me.

The installation was excellent. The installers were polite, pleasant and on time. They left the site tidy and explained everything to me.

I am impressed with the app that allows me to monitor my system, and with the after installation service (that I haven't yet needed to use).

Great team who went above and beyond

RenewCo Solar were the only people who actually came to site for the quote and helped me understand what was and wasn't possible. They were super proactive in their communication, especially when the rebate amounts changed due to the NSW government rebate changing, and nothing was too much trouble. The team who installed the battery were fast and respectful and a pleasure to have at our home. So far so good!

Sigenstor Battery Installation

Pre-Sale with Rhys was great, factual and knowledgeable. Of four quotes, only two visited our site, Rhys being one.

They overcame the hiccup of NSW pulling their rebate with an innovative offer.
Lead time was ~ 6 weeks in a peak period (June - July). Installation was scheduled early and didn't change.

The installation crew of 3 arrived on time on the scheduled date.
They were done and cleaned up in 3 hours.
The installation is professional and neat.
Everything works as it should.

The team at Renewco : Best Value, Best Service

We wanted the best possible system installed with the maximum residential capture and storage. Of the 4 companies we reviewed, we went with Renewco. From the beginning they were the most professional. They listened to our requirements, designed the system to our specifications and installed the system and batteries on time and without any issues.

Not the cheapest, nor the most expensive. But, for our needs, definitely the best value and the most professional. Great service and attention to detail.
