High quality system and installation.

The service provided by STAG was excellent from start to finish. The quoting process made it very easy for me to see the options, which of those options best suited my circumstances and the final cost.
There was some delay in the installation due to a minor miscommunication, but all was finalised once that was sorted.
The installers provided excellent service, ensuring I understood the system and how to use the app and charger.
I highly recommend STAG for your solar battery installation.

From our first inquiry Mitch from sales was quick to get in touch and talk with us about what we were looking for. He came back to us with 3 options to choose from and worked with us at our pace.

High quality in every way.

We had a long wait (until October) as we put in our acceptance at the last minute in June. There was a long delay before the system was installed due to being late with our loan application and the difficulty for Stag to get supplies. However once it was all ready to go we had less than a day notice! Jack came as promised and gave spectacular service! It was a big job but it was all done in a day with a minimum of fuss and had lots of time to discuss the various queries we needed answering. Everything was done as promised and the system is working perfectly. A small glitch with our induction stove top was quickly resolved. The software was loaded onto our phones and quickly explained.

I doubt if any company could have done ii better or quicker. The overall cost was very reasonable in my opinion. I would have no hesitation in recommending Stag to other customers.

Would recommend

Sales and quoting.
We received a great price in original quote.
Unfortunately the government had other ideas and changed rules on STC. Through this process Rhys kept us informed and provided us with options. This gave us the choice on what we needed to do.

Timing
Due to the huge popularity of battery market supply simply wasn’t flowing to the smaller providers. Stag overcame this by getting their own shipment in however this caused a time delay. Communication was slightly patchy during this time with staff on leave. Despite this we never felt like the job wasn’t going to happen.

Once product arrived it seemed to happen very fast. Our install was a joint install with a second property nearby being installed on the Friday. We were scheduled in for the following week.
Tony and Stefan took the time to discuss the install pushing back by a day to ensure everything was as it should be before arriving on site.

Install
The team arrived early and do a final inspection to make sure all was ready. Our install involved new solar panels on a garage, a stand alone 25kw battery placed on poles 3 m from the inverter and an update to our fuse box.

Tony made sure we understood the install and was polite throughout. They overcame obstacles with our old fuse box and got the system running within the day.

Once installed he explained the shut down procedures and gave instructions to ensure we knew the basics. Cannot recommend the install team highly enough.

Love their work

Had previously used Stag for a p/v installation and was most happy. So with the Albo battery subsidy, I ran the numbers and decided to seek quotes on a 10kw battery. Stag suggested another option for similar money, a 15kw battery. So I went with it.
Install just completed and the crew did a fantastic job. Turned up on time, explained what was happening and did a walk through at the end. I am very happy.

Stag took time to understand our upgrade needs and suggested a great value solution. Very good at explaining installation process and potential limitation when first on site.

Complete confidence in the build process !!!

Upfront, Stag Electrical were by no means a cheap option. That said - if you are looking for a professionally installed, tailored, quality solution, then Stag is for you. They installed my SIGENERGY system, which required a long EV charger cable run to the garage, with minimal fuss and found the best option to run the feed out to the garaged car.
Additionally, they decommissioned my old SUNGROW 5KW system and replaced with a larger capacity JINKO 25KW worth of panels and 10KW SIGENERGY Inverter.

Happy, system working well

The quoting process was good. I was impressed with the format of the quote showing the panel configuration and full details in a web format. When I changed the requirements slightly the revised quote was quick and clear. I have confidence that I knew what I was getting.

The installation was quick and smooth with no issues at all.

My only concern was that after install I discovered that the installed inverter in the system was one phase where three phase was available for our three phase house. I have since learned this limits the power we can send to the grid and the charging speed for an EV car. I spoke to Stag about this after the install and understand a three phase inverter would have been more expensive and the three phase models that Stag sell only allow one MPPT (and we needed three). I am disappointed about this limitation for the future, especially the car charging, and would have liked to know this before deciding.

Highly Professional - Excellent Service

The whole process, including quoting, installation and commissioning was painless and very professional. The main point of difference from other installers was the availability of the installer early in the sales process to give advice for our specific needs. This included a sight visit by the installer, a process not offered by the two other companies quoting.

The installer (Tony) was a highly knowledgeable professional engineer who was patient, polite and punctual. He patiently answered our numerous questions. His apprentice (Stepan) was polite and showed initiative. The attitude of all members of the team was exemplary including the tradesman (James) who did the heavy work of lifting the solar panels on our steep roof. The process was completed on-time, accommodating our requirements to benefit from the government subsidy. Tony and his excellent apprentice took great care to maintain a neat and tidy installation throughout the process.

The grid connection was organised for us when expected and clear instructions were given on the operation and management of the system (including use of the Sigen app and emergency shut down procedures).

Satisfied customer

We are very satisfied with Stag Electrical Solar and Refrigeration.
The install of the battery system has been faultless. The techs arrived on time and work performed in a timely manner and an explanation of the working of the system and app.
There was an initial delay due to supply chain issues, but we were kept informed by the admin team along the way when to expect the install.
It is early days yet, but the battery system appears to be doing what it should.

Good Experience

The quote process was good, with a few different-sized options presented. We had a great discussion on the pros/cons of each of the options, which really helped in making our final decision. There were some delays in getting all the components, but we were kept informed throughout the process. The installation team called in advance and arrived on time. As we were installing a car charger, a battery, and solar panels, Stag Electrical had a team of people working on different parts of the installation at the same time to get the work done quickly. At the end of it all, power was connected and we had a complete walk around the house being shown different parts of the system, how to shut it down in an emergency, testing the failover from grid to battery, how to connect and charge the car and how to manage a number of the functions from the app. Since its installation, the system has been working well. I'd highly recommend the team at Stag Electrical for anyone looking to install a solar system.

What a difference a day makes!

I first spoke to Mitch with the hope I could convince my husband to install solar and try to lessen the power bill shock every month. Thanks to Mitch and his patience through many phone calls and questions it worked!
The installation team were punctual and got the installation done with a minimum of fuss under the "supervision" of my husband! Again questions were asked of us about placement of the inverter and questions asked of them - all were answered politely and fully.
At the end of the day we received -instructions on how to download and interpret the information on the ap, all the relevant paperwork, our electricity supplier was informed and we're making power - even in winter:) The positioning of the solar panels is on the garage and can't be seen from the house which is nice.
I'm looking forward to our next bill to see what savings we have made in this first month.
Whilst the team working on the roof try their best not to break any tiles, it did happen and being advised to have spare tiles on hand was good advice.

Install sigenery 24kwh battery and 8 kw single phase inverter and gateway, ac couple

Customer service was excellent annd they went through options annd dealt with my questions when developing the proposal. However, mistake was made in the initial quote as it was for a 5 kw inverter which cannot be installed withe 24 kWh battery.

The customer service on the day of the installation was extremely good and the technician resolved the issues.

Revised review of Stag Electrical

Okay I’m revising my original review of Stag Electrical. The reason is while my angry rant made me feel better it wasn’t particularly helpful to others. I now recognise Stag was incredibly naive and unrealistically complacent rather than necessarily incompetent. And I have to accept that more assiduous work on my part may have helped to avoid the shambles this became.

Just a recap: I sought quotes through SolarQuotes near the end of April 2025, and received 3 referrals. I ordered a Powerwall 2 and paid the deposit to Stag Electrical in early May. This was to be the second Powerwall for my system. No other battery (including other Tesla batteries) was compatible. If I failed to secure a Powerwall 2 then I was stuck with a substandard solution for the foreseeable future. Tesla ceased production of Powerwall 2s in 2024 and old stock was rapidly disappearing. On top of that the federal government had introduced the battery rebate! And in Canberra there were rumours that the government interest-free solar loans were going to cease on 30 June (which in fact did occur); while I wasn’t getting a loan this promoted even more demand for batteries. This was the proverbial perfect storm and to say it made me nervous is an understatement.

I contacted all who quoted and expressed my concerns about my fear of Powerwall 2s disappearing in the frenetic buildup to the start of the federal battery rebate. They agreed with me and said they would bring a Powerwall 2 into their stock as soon as I paid the deposit. One reason I am modifying my review is that I can’t recall Stag Electrical making that specific undertaking. I had assumed anyone who worked in the industry as long as Stag would do the same as other suppliers and physically secure the stock. But I don’t recall explicitly asking for this. My bad number one.

I still think Stag could have, with minimal effort, secured a Powerwall 2 battery rather than rely on reserving one with a wholesaler who was obviously going to be under immense pressure to satisfy an unprecedented demand for stock to desperate installers. Just about everyone in the industry had predicted this. And Powerwall 2s were special in my case because I could not expand my system with any other battery.

The second area where Stag let me down was implying my Powerwall was available in each of my follow-up phone calls. They were even offering assurances to me in June, although apparently now saying they found out (in July admittedly) that Powerwall 2s ceased to be available in May. I accepted those undertakings, again based on my previous dealings with Stag and SolarQuotes endorsement of them. My bad number 2.

So on 1 July I was waiting for the call from Stag to tell me when my installation would occur. The call I got on 14 July was that Stag could not source a Powerwall 2 even though they had been trying for the past 2 weeks. I was not a happy camper to find out that not only had they not secured stock but had also been giving me assurances for the past 2 months that everything was on track. I may have overreacted a little.

While the result was initially devastating for me, I have to concede that I could have been more explicit and rigorous in keeping Stag on track, and have to accept that.

I still think Stag should have, as an experienced operator in the industry, done more to secure a battery without the need for a customer to constantly hassle them. But lessons learned.
Just because an installer has provided good service in the past there is no guarantee they will continue to do so.
SolarQuotes endorsement of an installer is a low bar and due diligence requires much more than relying on that.

We are disappointed to read your review as it does not reflect the full context of our dealings with you. As discussed in our phone call on 14 July (recorded for accuracy), your order for a second Tesla Powerwall 2 was placed with our wholesaler back in May. At that time, we were advised of a short backorder but were assured we would be supplied. Unfortunately, in late June we were informed that no further Powerwall 2 units were available in Australia due to Tesla ending production, and that no additional stock could be secured from any of our usual major wholesalers.

We immediately began contacting alternative suppliers in an attempt to source one for you, but the nationwide shortage meant none could be obtained, a fact confirmed by Tesla and multiple wholesalers. While another installer has claimed they sourced units in May, that would have been before the final stock ran out and before the federal rebate rush created unprecedented demand. By the time we received the update from our supplier, all available stock across the country had been exhausted.

We called you personally to explain the situation, apologised, and processed your refund the same day. We understand your frustration, but the supply shortage was outside our control. At no point did we mislead you about availability; we acted on the information provided by our suppliers and took steps to try to secure a unit once the shortage was confirmed.

We value the trust of our customers and have always operated with transparency and integrity. Unfortunately, in this case, the circumstances were determined by global supply constraints.

A wonderful experience

From the initial quote through to turning the power on, this has been a very trouble-free journey. Stag Electrical and Solar helped decide the best system for our needs then ensured the paperwork was started to ensure we were making the most of the government incentives. The installation team were on site 1 week later and had the system installed and the technology explained all in one day. Just waiting for the electrical suppliers to install the new meter so we can start feeding back to the grid (which the Stag team also arranged)

Once accepted install started within 2 weeks.
Salesperson, job manager and guys on the job all very polite and helpful, cleaned up when they left.
