Timely and clean install

VoltX Energy offered a fair price and the installation went exactly as planned. The installation date given was surprisingly quick. The installers, Roy and AJ were efficient, getting the system mounted and the wiring tucked away neatly without any fuss. It’s good to see a team that actually cleans up after themselves once the job is done. Everything is running smoothly and we're happy with how it turned out.

Will take your money, ghost then cancel

Took my money in Dec 2025 for solar panel + battery order - did not deliver product. Sales process was very nice, once money hit their account it went quiet with very little correspondance or updates. 4 months later they cancelled my order - no real reason provided yet they continue to advertise for new business. My experience is shared by many others on Ozbargain. Do not trust them with any of your time. They wasted my time leaving me with 4 weeks left till the end of this rebate cycle.

I am impressed with the work of the technicians who installed the batteries. They were extremely competent, and polite and neat. They were very helpful in setting up and explaining the Neovolt app.

The sales process was excellent. E-mails and messages were responded to quickly by people who were only too willing to engage and explain clearly. Installation could not have been better. Very competent technicians who were neat and tidy.

Informative and tidy installers

As a retired electrician I sifted through the hype, researched well and chose VoltX for a 50kWh Solplanet battery with 10kw inverter. The sales and tech teams were detailed and helpful. It was no problem communicating with Philippines sales team and Chinese Australian installers. Installers gave onsite options for battery/ hardware placement to keep it neat and explained everything I asked. Very smooth process and I'm a happy customer.

Quick turn around in confirmation, offering contract. Straightforward instructions on how to plan for an install spot. Solplanet app is satisfactory and gives me the info I need. Only had to remind the installers to turn on the secondary (slave) battery. Might struggle if you want to ask for integration with your existing system. Check your current inverter and what they offer.

48 kWh install for Blundell’s Coffs Harbour

Installation went fine he was punctual professional and helpful with information about system. System is working well however we have had cloudy days since install so has not fully charged yet. What helped was I prepped side with a level concrete pad to install prior to his arrival, and he checked site a couple days prior to ensure was no potential problems. Overall happy thus far.

Great work VoltX battery installers

The installers spent the whole day here doing what had to be done to successfully commission the battery system with the existing 2 year old 6.6kW solar roof panels. They encountered some software compatibility issues and worked around this without getting flustered and left us with a very professional result. I am excited to see how much our future electricity bills will shrink. The next decision is whether to buy a small EV for local daily drives and kiss goodbye to visiting the local service station.

The product is exactly as shown on the VoltX Energy website. My son did all the product research and it was his opinion that this deal was excellent value. For under $6k I am pleased to say we are now on board with power self-sufficiency and moving away from dependence on the power company.

Great value system, but communication needs serious improvement

We installed a VoltX battery and solar system after securing a great Black Friday deal ($6,364.55 off) plus the federal rebate ($16,363.64), bringing the total cost to around $11k. From a value perspective, this was excellent, and the system appears to be working well so far.

Installation was completed within the promised 3-month timeframe, which we appreciated. However, the process leading up to it was frustrating due to poor communication. After signing, it was difficult to get responses to questions via email, text, and Facebook. Replies often only came after multiple follow-ups and sometimes took weeks.

Scheduling was the biggest issue. Our install was delayed twice with no advance notice. I rearranged work commitments twice—once only to be told on the day it was postponed, and another time when no one showed up at all. Attempts to contact VoltX during business hours went unanswered.

An inspector also arrived unannounced the day before installation and advised sourcing spare roof tiles at short notice, which was inconvenient.

The install itself took around 13 hours, which seemed an unusually long time. A fault occurred late in the evening, but the electrician returned the next morning and resolved it promptly.

Again, we were happy with the installation and price overall and the system is working as inspected. We suspect the price could be offered due to having less staff, which led to communication issues. Therefore, the issues raised are offset by the result, which we are pleased with.

Good front end support and installation, but..........

VoltX Energy installed my battery and inverter (Solplanet 50 kw battery, 10 kw inverter) a few weeks back. Here are my thoughts and my experience so far.

It took a while from the time I took up the quote to installation of the batteries/inverter. I understand this, they are busy and whilst there are rebates people want batteries. So for me this wasn't an issue.

The guys who did the installation were very professional and did a brilliant job. If this was the end of the story, I would give this review 5 stars, however about a week after the install my battery one day filled up from the grid and then just went into idle mode and this is were it sat for a week. it was full, but I couldn't use it.

I have no idea why this happened and to date no one has explained how this occurred.

I tried VoltX customer support and I didn't hear anything for a few days and then when someone did contact me, it was via email. Okay once again, this is not a problem, I identified my issues and my needs via email and then there was silence for five days. I was contacted again, and once again I identified my needs. Once again silence.

I eventually had to reach out via their accounts team and identify that I wouldn't pay the bill until the batteries were actually working.

This prompted a response from the support team who put the battery into self consumption mode and sent me a bunch of screenshots as to how to set up the battery to suit my needs (overnight charging the battery using off peak when the sun isn't topping up the batteries) I don't know why the support person couldn't do this for me or at least talk me through how to do it, so I am awaiting a response regarding this ongoing issue.

So my suggestions, After you have your quote, be patient. It may take a month or so, but if you follow up the sales team are pretty proactive.

Be clear about where you want your battery installed, the battery unit isn't small so ask plenty of questions.

The Solplanet gear isn't top tier, hence the price, but they are well respected and the reviews of the equipment and reliability are pretty good. But I still recommend that you do your due diligence for your own piece of mind.

On the day of installation, this is very important!! talk to your installer and talk about your needs regarding the system and app set up. How do you want the system to run, do you want it to top up at night so that during peak times your battery is always available or do you just want your solar to top it up. there are a lot of scenario's, so think about how you want the battery to work for you, because the app isn't very intuitive and the only user guide available is for installers so unless you are technically inclined it is of little or no use. So get help from the person setting up the app for you.

There is an online user group (Solplanet owners Australia) on Facebook, but there aren't a lot of members to date, so support is limited.

From my experience, technical support is there, but it is slow and in my case not particularly helpful.
Also be aware that none of the current VPP's (Globird, Amber etc) will currently work with Solplanet gear, so if you are wanting to get onto a VPP and get cheap power and sell power back to the grid, Solplanet can't do this at the time of this review.

Overall my front end/install experience was good and I would have given 5 stars if not for the poor ongoing support I have encountered so far.

Worst company I have ever dealth with!!!

Sales team pushed hard to get me to sign up fast.
I did sign up for a 10kW inverter and a 50kWh battery in rural N.S.W.
It took 3 months to get the install done which I understand because we live rural, however once they booked an install day (Thursday) nobody showed up!
I waited, and called and emailed - no response.
Friday I recieved a message saying they would look into it.
Saturday 7:15am a truck shows up unanounced with the installers and battery system.
I am not inpressed.
No message no email nothing!
They just assumed that I would be home with nothing to do that day.

Anyway they started and the first thing was that they couldn't install the back up circuit to the switchboard because it was a main subboard and not the internal house one.
So instead of having a whole house back up they would onky back up 2 circuits.
What a failure. I would expect to be able to run most of the house off the battery when we get ( often) grid failures.

Anyway they installed the system without backup and when I checked on them the I saw the batteries were stacked outside the shed on gravel with some of my old house bricks!!
Which they did not even ask to use.
I questioned why were they not on a concrete pad as per the conversation I had with their office, and was told "they don't do that" even though it is quite clearly stated on the contract.

After 4 hours they left.
There was only a brief conversation about making sure the app was working and they were gone.
I didn't get to ask any questions or didn't sign any forms, and was left with no paperwork.
English wasn't their first language.

I have tried and tried to get someone from Voltx to help me get the system put on a concrete pad and I cannot get anyone to respond.

I am getting an independant audit of the system to make sure it is complient, and safe.

I would never recommend anyone using this company.

The installation team was quick to get some site issues and the cabling sorted and made sure the app was connected to our Wi-Fi before they left. Highly recommended.

Great install team, fast installation

VoltX Energy moved incredibly fast on this one. The installation team had the system up and running much quicker than I expected (about 3 weeks from signing), but they didn't cut corners to get it done. The entire setup was professionally intalled, with the cabling neatly tucked away and the work area was spotless when they left. It’s refreshing to have a crew show up, get the job done efficiently.

Purchased 50kw Battery

Purchased a 50kw battery through Voltx. Great experience from sales through to installation. Batteries were installed 2 weeks after the contract was signed. Install was seamless with good communication and prompt install (Thanks Dave). Batteries working as advertised Super happy overall.

Paid in November 2025 for battery to be installed in Feb - after no contact in Feb I called them and was given the run around with lots of excuses.
Was booked in 2 times and both times cancelled. 1 of those times I had to call them to be told I was cancelled .
Now stock won't be in til mid April.

Good Experience

Nothing to complain

I recently installed a VoltX Energy battery system and overall I’m quite satisfied with the experience, especially considering the price and the system capacity.
One thing that impressed me was how fast the scheduling could be. I’m based in Sydney, and the timeline could have been very quick — consultation on Thursday, phone call on Friday to arrange installation, and installation as early as Monday. In my case I decided to delay the installation by about a week because I wanted to clarify a few things first, but the company’s scheduling capability itself was actually quite fast.
The installation team was professional and everything was done by licensed electricians. They followed proper procedures and the installation was done within the expected timeframe. I’ve seen some reviews mentioning messy wiring, but I personally didn’t have that issue. Before installation I spent about a week discussing with them where the equipment should be placed and how the cables should be routed, as I was concerned about the wiring looking messy. Because of that planning, the final result looked neat and acceptable.
They also communicated clearly about when the power would need to be turned off and how the installation would proceed.
The system I installed was the 10kW inverter with a 50kWh battery, priced at $4,999, which I think offers excellent value. For comparison, a Tesla Powerwall has only around 13.5kWh capacity and costs several times more. From what I understand, the battery cells are OEM from Solplanet, which is considered a mid-tier but reputable brand rather than an unknown manufacturer.
The mobile app is fairly user-friendly and provides a clear overview of solar generation, battery usage, and grid input/output. It also allows scheduling for charging times and off-grid settings. One area that could be improved is guidance on optimal configuration — for example, recommended charging wattage or scheduling strategies. I ended up using some AI tools to help tune my settings. On the first day my charging rate was configured too high and tripped my circuit breaker twice, but once adjusted everything worked fine.
Another thing I want to mention is customer support. I saw some reviews claiming the support was poor, but my experience was actually quite positive. When I emailed them about an app access issue, they replied within half a day and the problem was resolved quickly. The sales team also followed up well — when I sent questions via SMS or email they usually replied quite promptly.
Overall, considering the price, battery capacity, installation quality, and app usability, I’m very happy with the system so far.

VoltX Energy - Low cost excellent performing 50KWH battery

I’ve ordered a massive 50KWH battery with 5KW inverter for my existing home solar system through the VoltX Energy and the installation has been completed around three months after my order. The waiting isn’t short due to popularity I think but it was worthy. The installation was done professionally and I am very impressed about this BIG battery performance and easy control via SolPlanet Mobil app. This 50KWH massive battery makes my home electricity self sustainable.

Poor experience

I signed up for a solar battery installation with Voltx in June 2025 and the experience since then has been extremely disappointing.

Communication throughout the entire process was poor to almost non-existent. Calls were rarely answered, messages were not returned, and repeated requests for updates about the installation went unanswered for months.

After waiting approximately nine months with no meaningful progress or clear communication, I was suddenly issued a refund. This refund was processed without any real explanation or prior discussion. At no point was there a clear and honest acknowledgement that the company was unwilling or unable to proceed with the installation.

If Voltx had been upfront from the beginning about their inability or unwillingness to carry out the installation, I could have simply engaged another installer. Instead, months were wasted waiting for updates that never came.

As a result of this prolonged delay, I will most likely miss out on the current solar battery rebate, which makes the situation even more frustrating. The overall experience felt like a cycle of vague assurances and poor communication rather than transparent and professional service.

Given the excessive delays and the way this matter was handled, I am giving serious consideration to lodging a complaint with NSW Fair Trading. No business should consider it acceptable to treat customers this way.

Overall, this has been one of the worst customer service experiences I have had with any company.

Installers were fantastic

Sales a quoting process was straight forward. Some miss communication regarding the initial site vist but otherwise the experiance was pleasent.

The installlers did a fantastic job. Very neat and tidy and looks very professional.

The installers provided good training on how to use the associated app.

Overall, i am very happy with the installation and so far it apperas to be working flawlessly.

New batteries

The installation team just wrapped up the setup at our place and did a great job. They didn't rush through it, taking the time to make sure all the cabling was neat and that I actually understood how the app works before they headed off. The tech called me to discuss some unrelated issues he'd monitored after the install and talked me through resolution. It’s a relief to have the backup circuits ready to go, and they even made sure to sweep up the workspace afterwards. VoltX Energy made the whole process easy to deal with - not to mention very competitive pricing.

Fantastic installer of great batteries

Terrific installation crew, hard to get hold of the main office

Ordered a 53kWh 3 phase system only a few weeks ago. Set it up in the main shed, spent some time installing cement board and plinths, making life easier for the installation crew.

Email said they’d be there on the Monday any time from 9am, turns out 2pm is when they started - finished at 6:30pm. More than happy with the installation quality. Can’t say much more yet until I’ve used the system for a month or two.

I will say it’s hard to get onto anyone from the company, the call centre is offshore & seems to be very busy. You can’t ask anything particularly technical with them. I can see how they’ve set up the business with tight margins (great for the customer’s bank account) but it makes everything else more difficult.

App seems to work well. Will check back in later!

VoltX home Battery

We went with VoltX energy for our home battery system paid our deposit and within 4 weeks we got a call to have it installed. Its a very neat setup, the installation went great and hooked me up on the app . We have not had any usage since installation I can't thank them enough . We have gone from a 9 $ a day usage and now down to an only daily usage charge and with 3 free hours of power it's charged up ready for the night time usage. Just take a punt give them a go once installed you will not regret it, our 50kw system with 5kw hybrid inverter does my needs. Having expensive fish tanks in the house and having the backup power in a blackout is a game changer - never have to worry again .
