It is an exciting time at SolarQuotes as we scale up to accelerate home electrification across Australia. We’re growing fast to meet this challenge, and are on the lookout for an Operations Manager to help guide us forward.
As second-in-command at SolarQuotes, the Operations Manager will play a key role in getting us bigger, faster and better.
What We Do
SolarQuotes has been helping Aussies electrify their homes since 2009. Solar, batteries, EV chargers, hot water – if it plugs into the sun, we’re on it. We connect thousands of households every month with installers we’ve actually vetted (the dodgy ones don’t make the cut).
We sold to Origin Energy in late 2024. Yes, a multi-billion-dollar giant now owns us. No, that hasn’t made us boring. We still run the show ourselves – just with a lot more fuel in the tank.
The Role
You’ll be the second-in-command, and your job is to:
- Make sure homeowners get a clear, efficient, and trustworthy experience.
- Support installer clients (the ones who pay us) so they get timely leads, clear communication, and quick issue resolution.
- Work with our content and marketing teams to improve and expand our content for homeowners and installers.
- Support a whip-smart 19-person crew spread across Adelaide, Sydney, Orange, Portugal and Brazil.
- Directly manage our end-user support and client operations team members.
- Fix what’s clunky, sharpen what’s working, and keep projects moving.
- Keep an eye on numbers so we know what’s working and what’s not.
- Step in for me (SolarQuotes’ General Manager Trevor Glen) when I’m not around.
- Live and breathe our values: no bullshit, no dodgy deals, customer first.
What We’re Looking For
- You’ve run ops before (bonus points if it was digital or service-based).
- You think commercially, balancing customers and the business.
- You’re organised but not uptight.
- You can see a messy system, fix it, and make it stick.
- You get people: how to back them, guide them, and keep them firing.
- You like working with misfits and renegades.
- You’re comfortable with tools like Zapier, CRMs, and workflow automation.
- You use AI tools daily. You know when they’re a help and when they’re hype. This is important – if you are not across AI by now, you are not a good fit for this role.
The Details
- We’re based in the CBD of Adelaide. We’ve been a work-from-home-first company since 2009, but we’d prefer you’re Adelaide-based.
- Report directly to me, the GM.
- Full-time, full-throttle.
