Quote and Installation
Primero was the only one to give a quote which took into account a tree at the front of the house. There is no requirement to trim it.The installation was delayed by the weather
The installation was done well and quickly and how the system works explained in easy to understand way.

Poor installation resulted in damaged plaster ceilings
Extremely poor experience with Primero. The solar panel installation was defective and caused water ingress, resulting in damage to our ceilings and flooring.Two independent leak detection specialists (appointed by our insurer) confirmed the installation as the source of the issue in detailed reports. Primero also sent two separate contractors, both of whom agreed the panels were incorrectly installed and must be removed and reinstalled. They found multiple roof tiles lifted, damaged, or drilled through due to the brackets.
Despite this, the matter has dragged on for months without resolution. Communication and accountability have been extremely disappointing.
We are only seeking rectification of the solar panels and damaged roof tiles—nothing more. As a result of the ongoing delays and lack of response, we are now proceeding with consumer affairs and VCAT.

Hi Fernanda,Thank you for your feedback. We acknowledge that water ingress at a property is a serious concern and understand that this matter has been frustrating.
However, we do not accept the statement that the solar installation has been proven to be defective. The system was installed in July 2021, is performant and operational, and this matter was first raised with us in January 2026. Since then, we have attended the property on two separate occasions and obtained feedback from two separate installers.
Based on our inspections to date, including our most recent attendance, we have not identified a confirmed installation defect that establishes Primero’s installation as the cause of the water ingress.
As you have indicated that the matter is being escalated to Consumer Affairs and VCAT, we will now respond through the appropriate formal process rather than debating the matter publicly. We remain willing to cooperate with that process and provide our inspection findings and supporting information.

Excellent to deal with pre-sale, but after-sale service is virtually non-existent
We have used Primero Solar for two home solar installations. The first, in 2021, was a 10kW system without battery storage. The salesperson from Primero won my business over the other quotes I received by patiently walking me through the options of inverters and panels, answering all my curious questions.For example, when I explained that I am an experienced software engineer and would prefer a system that I could integrate my home automation setup with, the salesperson directed me to a SolarEdge inverter, as it offered a developer API that I could use to monitor the system, e.g. to switch loads on and off in response to excess solar production.
The salesperson also made a site visit, where he climbed up on the roof with me to talk through the options to position the panels. I so appreciated the amount of time that was invested to give me confidence I was making a well-informed purchase decision.
The installation team were prompt, professional, and tidy.
We have contacted Primero again, to become a repeat customer.
This time, we bought a larger SolarEdge system with battery storage, and switched to Amber for wholesale rates and battery automation. Once again, Primero were great to deal with in the pre-sale phase, and the installation went smoothly.
Unfortunately, the added complexity of the battery, and its automation via Amber, meant that for the first time we needed to rely on Primero's technical support from time to time. We have had several occasions where the battery seemed to get stuck in "standby" mode (neither charging nor discharging), and in these instances, Primero's technical support were the weakest link in getting the issue resolved. I was often left without a call back or email response for weeks at a time, and only managed to progress things through repeated calls and emails. I soon noticed that I only ever heard from a single support agent, which makes me think that Primero's technical support team is a team of one. I eventually began contacting SolarEdge support directly, since Primero's support was so unresponsive and unreliable.
Recently, we have noticed that two of our panels stopped producing power more than 6 months ago. Although this hardware failure generated alerts in the SolarEdge monitoring platform, Primero did not notify us or take any other proactive steps to respond to this issue. Far from the proactive fault monitoring I was promised during the sales process, it seems Primero does not actively respond to issues with the sites it manages.
Having detected this issue myself more than 6 months after it occurred, I contacted Primero technical support, who over a period of weeks worked with SolarEdge support to confirm that two of our panel optimizers had failed. The good news: this was covered under my warranty. The bad news is that it took 2 months for Primero and SolarEdge to ship the replacement parts to me (I was told only after I received them that there had been a stock shortage that meant they could not be shipped sooner), and I have now been waiting 1 month for Primero to schedule someone to come and install the replacement optimizers. As a result, I have now been 9 months with two failed panels, with no remedy in sight.
In short, as other reviews here have reported, Primero has an excellent sales team and uses top-notch installers, but the after-sales support is just not there. For such a large investment, I would recommend trying to find a company that will stand by their work with a well-staffed support team.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience, and we’re sorry to hear that the post-installation support process has not met your expectations.We completely understand that any loss of system production is frustrating, particularly when it relates to a significant investment such as solar and battery storage.
To clarify for anyone reading, Primero maintains access to system monitoring portals so we can assist customers when an issue is raised, help identify whether the issue relates to installation workmanship, product performance, or manufacturer warranty, and then support the warranty process where required.
However, ongoing proactive monitoring of every installed system is not included as part of the standard installation service, nor is it something we charge customers for as a separate monitoring service. System owners are provided with monitoring access for this reason, so they can view performance and raise concerns if something appears unusual.
In this case, the issue related to failed SolarEdge optimisers, and not Primero's installation, which are covered under manufacturer warranty. We have assisted with the warranty process and acknowledge that the timeframe has been longer than ideal, including delays related to replacement part availability and scheduling, which are elements out of our control.
We are sorry for the inconvenience this has caused and remain committed to assisting with the rectification of the issue. We appreciate your repeat business and the positive comments regarding our sales and installation teams, and we will continue working to improve the support experience after installation.

Review
Primero had done a decent job of installing my solar panels, but given the appalling user interface of the Delta inverter, they were struggling to get it online on the day of install. Primero had to revisit after inspector sign-off, to get my system going correctly.From memory, the CT clamp didnt provide the right results so that had to be adjusted and inverter settings redone.

Good service, communications could improve a bit
Sales & quoting were smooth and celar. The installation was all done in a day by a very professional team.Between sales down payment (Aug) and installation (Nov), there was a delay in battery availability from the manufacturer resulting in a couple months of delay in installation. This delay wasn't Primero's fault. However there wasn't a clear communication regarding the reason for delays and nor revised timing, so I had to chase them repeatedly to figure out what was going on. That's the only area I think could be improved - getting clear messages out to customers about schedule as soon as there was a hitch in the supply chain.

Worst experience ever
Extremely disappointing and unreliable service.**The attached photo shows how my roof was left completely damaged after their solar panel installation. Even worse, for over two weeks, they’ve ignored my requests for a proper resolution. Their attitude was unprofessional—they even refused to connect the service unless the full payment was made, despite the poor workmanship.
I deeply regret choosing this company. Save yourself the trouble and go with a more affordable, respectful competitor. As of now, the issue remains unresolved.
Professional and Friendly Service
The initial salesmen was very friendly and informative. He was very accommodating as I had particular requests after being informed about what I needed from previous quotations from other companies.I had to be away for work for the installation day but my wife said they were very friendly, polite and informative.
I made a thorough inspection of the roof once I returned and the roof was spotless no damage hiding anywhere, seemed like a very professional job had been done.
