The South Australian winners for 2025 were finalised following a weighted calculation of customer reviews of solar installers listed on the SolarQuotes website. Going about it this way meant smaller companies with fewer reviews had a decent chance against their bigger rivals. All SA installer listings were analysed during this process, not just those installers who are part of the SolarQuotes network.

First Place –  Goliath Solar & Electrical

Goliath Solar & Electrical have been installing solar systems in Adelaide and across South Australia since 2012. In addition to solar panels, the company also supplies and installs battery systems and EV chargers.

Founder David Stevens, an electrician trained by his uncle, says the trigger for getting into solar installation was a dislike of fly-by-night firms and the way some industry giants were treating their customers; supplying little pre-install information with no assistance after the system was installed.

The company’s solar installers are employees —not sub-contractors — who have worked alongside David Stevens, learning the “Goliath Solar & Electrical way”. The firm’s solar consultants come from customer service backgrounds and have been technically trained in the solar industry, and pushy sales techniques are a no-no.

In second place was Thoroughtec Solar & Electrical Pty Ltd (TTEC). Based in Adelaide’s Flagstaff Hill, TTEC was founded in 2007 and today supplies solar panels, batteries, and electrical solutions to homes and businesses across South Australia. And in third place was DQ Electrical Pty Ltd. Another family-owned business, DQ Electrical started out in 2009.

Founder Don Quattrocchi expanded into solar installations by 2011 and soon after added home battery solutions.
