Outstanding Solar and Battery Installation - True Professionalism

We had the pleasure of working with Joshua aka BB and his team of exceptional installers, and from start to finish, their professionalism was evident in every step of the process.

Joshua, as the lead installer, ensured that everything was done with precision and care, guiding the team with expertise and dedication. They were punctual, never missing a scheduled time, and ensuring the installation flowed seamlessly. Their commitment to their work was unwavering, leaving us confident in the quality of their craftsmanship.

What stood out most was their courteous reflection every day ended with a proper goodbye. Even when I continued talking as they were leaving, they never turned their backs on me, instead, they respectfully waited until I said goodbye. It was a small gesture that spoke volumes about their integrity and respect for their clients.

The sales person impressed us by his professionalism and product knowledge, and were very pleased with the subsequent service provided to us.

With no prior experience with a solar system that included a battery we asked many questions about how the solar system worked. Their assistance and responses enable us to have a good working knowledge prior to installation.

On the first day of installation the lead installer checked the layout for 4 banks of solar panels totalling 38 units, and the electrician was happy to discuss and explain system settings.

I would not hesitate to recommend DQ Electrical.

Steve promptly arranged a time for a quote.
He took the time to explain how batteries work and the additional benefits that can be an option such as VPP programs.

Quality installer that listens

The team at DQ Electrical were attentive to my requests and supported me in my decision-making while knowing full well I was comparing many quotes.

Their attention to detail even at the quoting stage is what put them ahead of their competition and accommodated a rather tricky install of the inverter running conduit through 2 stories of wall to keep the final product neat.

On the day of the installation, the guys were pleasant and answered any questions I had and when it was time to turn everything on they ran me through the app and handled all the SAPN documentation.

I strongly recommend the team at DQ Electrical and when the time comes for a battery I will be sure to contact them again.

I am 77ys old, I live alone, my old system failed. I had may quotes from different firms before I was told about your website, which I found so helpful and informative. Two of the three companies you recommended got in touch, DQ Electrical was the only company out of all of them to not automatically quote on a much larger system than I required.
I wished to retain the 44c I receive for my solar energy. I had to wait a while for the system to be installed as they were so busy, but it was installed 17/3/2025. So far, so good, I am happy with the company and your recommendation. I have already told my friends of your website. Thanks.

All round proffesional

Sales and quoting process was quick and efficient. Invoice was well laid out and information easy to read. The insulation was done on the day they told me and the two man team arrived on time and completed efficiently. They cleaned the site and left it tidy. A Brilliant Experience

Deciding to install a solar system with battery, along with an EV Charger is a daunting process and not for the faint hearted. Thank goodness for Solarquotes as we would not have attempted this without their critical help.

However, once embarked on this adventure, we had little hesitation in selecting DQ Electrical. Nathan was warm, expertly knowledgeable and professional, and covered "everything" and the quote we received was comprehensive, easy to understand matched the Solarquotes checklist. The Installing Team were also polite, professional and efficient and there was no fuss as they removed and replaced our old panels with the new syatem.

A standout was our electrician Josh Ravesteyn who expertly wired everything up, commissioned our systems and took time to explain how it all works and how to download and use the APP. He also returned to make sure our new panels were properly cleaned.

We are the proud new owners of a high quality new solar system with the latest Aiko panels, a Powerwall 3 battery and Zappi EV charger and most thankful we chose DQ Electrical as our supplier and installer. Rob & Leonie

All around great service and very trustworthy

The whole process of working with DQ Electrical was excellent. I worked with Don initially and price was very competitive with other quotes for the 13 kw system. I had a lot of confidence and trust in Don, as I knew he was an electrician himself and was very straightforward and easy to deal with.
Installation was a very easy matter. Brad and his team were extremely professional and competent. The job happened very quickly with no fuss.

Smooth process and excellent installation.

We initially contacted DQ Electrical during our build and arranged a site visit and quote. They were really quick providing us a quote and gave us numerous options which was great to balance between what we wanted and what we were able to afford. Due to their quick response they were able to undertake electrical provisions during the build. Once the house was built and we were ready for installation Callum and the team arrived nice and early and got straight into the installation. They all worked really well as a team, communicating well amongst themselves and keeping me updated on the progress so I felt reassured and confident in their work. After the installation was complete, the team packed and cleaned everything up while Callum set up and showed me through the mobile app. He further showed me the components of the battery and inverter, its isolation procedure and the additions to our switch board. Since the installation we have received a follow up phone call checking in to see how everything is going, if there are any issues and if we need any further assisting with the app. Overall we have been delighted by the installers professionalism and attention to detail. We WILL definitely be recommending the company and specifically Ben & Callum!

Great Company To Deal with

DQ Electrical were the only company to come to our home, the rest did quote over the phone. I loved that! They came out a second time to explain more about the system and the savings to expect. Just brilliant. Even though there were problems with product failure, not their fault they came out to replace the component promptly. They care about the customer and provide excellent after sales service. The were polite, and nothing was too much trouble.

Awesome services! Did not regret choosing them.

It was straightforward in purchasing processing. They explained everything to me and performed a site visit prior to installation which I appreciated a lot.

Staff were very polite during the installation day and everything went smoothly.

I place a lot of value on their after sales service. Instead of dumping you away after you have paid for everything, they will act and answer your questions promptly.

They identified 1 out of 4 my Sungrow batteries was faulty and organised for warranty + able to put that in within 2 weeks.

I am glad that I chose them, and no wonder they require a relatively long wait (6 weeks from purchase to my installation). But I'm still happy with that wait period since they did an awesome job :)

Great installer!

The team at DQ Electrical provided an excellent experience from start to finish. The initial sales calls went smoothly, nothing pushy and all options were explained clearly. The sales team were knowledgeable on the products they were offering. A site inspection was arranged in short time, with the inspection being thorough enough that there were no surprises for the installation team.
The DQ installation team were fantastic. They were prompt on the day, very well presented and conducted themselves professionally throughout the day. Their workmanship was impressive, seeing them complete the bulk of the installation within the day.

I am very happy with DQ electrical as my choice of installer.

Professional Installation

Out of those that we requested a quote from, DQ Electrical were the only ones that came to inspect the property, go through the installation procedure with us and provide information on the product that they were installing.
Even though the installation did not occur on the date specified in the quote, they kept in contact with us so that we knew when this would be and could plan around this.
The installation was carried out in a very professional manner, with full credit going to the tradesmen who did this work.
All the necessary paperwork that was associated with this installation was handled by the supplier on our behalf for which we are truly thankful.

Turnaround from quoting to installation was only a couple of weeks. Don was very responsive and happy to make changes to the quote as necessary.

Great company

DQ was recommended to me and I'm glad it was. As soon as I had made my initial call their rep came to see me that afternoon. He explained solar to me, recommended what was best for my needs, didn't try to sell me more than I needed. It was a reasonable price. The workmen arrived when they said they would and got on and did the installation. They showed me how to check my usage through an app from my phone. When my smart meter was installed the electrician (not from DQ) hadn't completed some wires correctly and my phone app wasn't working. After a phone call to DQ their electrician was at my house within about 2 hours and had it all sorted...what great service, thanks Don.

Absolutely brilliant, I cannot recommend these guys highly enough.

DQ Electrical have been an absolute pleasure to deal with from start to finish. Nathan listened to what we wanted to achieve and designed a system accordingly. At the site inspection he went through the entire process, explained the system in great detail, answered all our questions and went over any final points to ensure the system was suited to our needs.
The installation was seemless, Michael and his team did a fantastic job. They were here on time on the day of the booking, something that seldom seems to happen these days. They were extremely polite and accommodating, and the quality of their craftsmanship is beyond reproach, they obviously take great pride in their work. The finished product is extremely neat and not at all obtrusive. The handover process was excellent with Michael talking through the operation of the system, assisting with setting up the app and going over any final points. When they left, you wouldn't know that had been there other than the shiny new panels on the roof. The app itself is brilliant, so easy to use, and you can see in realtime exactly what the system is doing, great for monitoring how much power you actually use.
Naturally for a job like this we had a number of quotes. While DQ Electrical were not the cheapest, they were the only one that was able to provide complete home back up and were still very comparable on price.
We have not had the system very long at this point but so far it is delivering everything that was promised.

Overall Excellent Service

The DQ Electric total team performance was impeccable from the initial contact, the design and quotation process, the admin staff dealing with scheduling and invoices, thru to the installation. And of course the biggest impact is always the installation (which included removal of an older smaller system), and that too was accomplished with minimum inconvenience, the installation team were punctual, courteous, tidy, and professional right thru to installing the monitoring website. And in the end the system they designed for us is performing beyond expectation. Couldn’t be more satisfied, an excellent investment.

Solar System Upgrade

Our existing solar system, more than 12 years old failed and we requested DQ Electrical to evaluate and provide a proposal.
Callum from DQ, within minutes identified the fault and proposed that all old solar panels and inverter should be replaced.

Nathan from DQ visited and proposed excellent options which were extensively discussed. Nathan provided a comprehensive quotation, which we accepted. Callum's initial callout fee was waived because we proceeded with DQ's quote for the upgrade.

Callum and his installation team members Caleb and Harrison removed the existing system and installed 30 new panel and 2 Sungrow inverters. Don provided final inspection. The whole job was completed within a day plus a few hours. Exceptional!

In all aspects, from Callum's first visit, Nathan's quotation and the supply and installation was undertaken in a very courteous, respectful and professional manner. Specifically, the completed installation is exceptional, the site was left tidy and clean. Callum and his team were always polite and respectful of our property. I cannot commend and recommend them highly enough.

Nathan was the only person to come to site and give a real quote. He took the time to find the restraints and limitations of our home and circumstances. I had 4 other quotes from other companies, everyone else used an aerial photo and guesswork.

Fantastic install from a great family business

From start to finish I felt the family business vibes from DQ Electrical (in the best way possible). In comparison to the other installers that gave me quotes, it felt like Nathan actually understood my vision/requirements and as a result provided me with the best cost to requirement solutions. It felt like he did go above and beyond to help explain some of his decision making process for this and answered every question I had to remove any doubt.

Very professional from start to finish

Started off with Steve looking into my situation and advising me to keep my old inverter and panels and to install new panels and new inverter to bring my system up from 4 to 10Kw. He was able to answer all questions re future battery install, smart meter concerns and recommended tariff based on my previous power bill.

Then the installers arrived at exactly 7.30 as agreed and installed 13 panels and an inverter within about 6 hours.
I had the system explained to me and was shown the basics of the inverter app so I could monitor the solar panels.
They didn't leave any mess and were very courteous the whole time.

Hassle free solar upgrade and battery install

Had a lot of back forth communication with DQ sales staff on a system and price. Looked at a variety of scenarios resulting in a few iterations of quotes. Their staff was patient with all my questions and concerns.

Ultimately, we decided on a sungrow battery system with new hybrid inverter that could backup the entire property on 3 phase if the grid went out. DQ were able to remove the old inverter, rewire exisitng panels and added an extra 22 panels to max out the best roof positions.

Their quote was the most competitive when we narrowed down to only 2 potential installers.

Exceptional service and workmanship

I am very pleased with my interactions with DQ Electrical, from the initial quoting which was thorough and comprehensive, the installation and follow up afterwards. I was able to compare my quote with other providers and could clearly see that some of my quotes hadn’t been personalised to reflect my usage and my existing system. I was happy to see my DQ quote was detailed and included all the information I needed, bonus that the price was very reasonable too. Prior to installation I was kept informed of the installers expected arrival time and agenda for the day. Both Josh and Cameron were friendly, polite and knowledgeable. At the end of a long day they took the time to clean up nicely and explain how to use the equipment. I was shown how to read the App so I can keep track of how quickly my battery recharges each day and my usage. I’m so glad I took the leap into sustainable energy.

Exceeded expectations

Every step of the process was professional and continually informed. From initial sit inspection prior to the home build completion, through to planning, administration, payments, and if course installation.
Over the two days of install, Callum and Josh continued with ongoing consultation and checking in to ensure we were fully informed every step of the way. Apprentices Patrick and Cam did a lot of the heavy lifting and were just as professional and polite. At the end, everything was clean and tidy, and it all worked as expected.

Professional service from start to finish

We engaged with Finn Solar who we had dealt with 15 yrs ago when we 1st put on solar at our home. This was a positive experience and went through the same process. DQ Electrical was 1 of the 3 businesses that were recommended. From the start when we received the 1st point of contact to the time that we farewelled our installer, the process was just so simple. The time taken to explain the process, answering many questions that we had was of no trouble. Nathan was extremely patient with us and the quality of his assessment when we had a face to face meeting at our home, he was able to assess out home and even pointed out that our switchboard was no longer compliant with the current regulations was the reason DQ got the job.
We are affected by a large council tree that potentially would affect our ability to reap the benefits of solar power and battery storage, Nathan made subtle changes to the layout of the panels to the point we were able to run an 11.2Kw system and kiss our electricity bill goodbye.
Our installer Michael was very professional and so easy to talk to. His mannerism and workmanship was second to none. His team were extremely polite and engaging with questions posed on the days of the installation. Careful attention to remove the old system and clean up of the property was much appreciated
It is reassuring to know that DQ Electrical will follow up with us in coming months so that we can be fed back how the system is working.

Best installer in Clare valley . . . Is in Gepps Cross

I'm moving to the Clare valley, north of Adelaide and according to the locals, there aren't any local solar installers. I have seen a number of dodgy and non-compliant installs there though and I know of one otherwise reputable company that doesn't do exclusion zones.

So I begged DQ Electrical to do the job. Well, if they are good enough for the owner of "SolarQuotes" to get them to cross to the south side of Adelaide, they should be good enough for me.

I must admit that I prefer to talk to technicians than sales people and once that hurdle was cleared, it was all plain sailing. S****, really nice guy, patient, responsive to all my questions, always called me back but (and they'll both be upset at me saying this) B*******, the technical manager knows all the edge question answers.

One of the reasons for wanting DQ Electrical to do the work is that this is a new build and the only company who would not sub out any of the work and uses only their own staff. DQ were happy to apply for a mains power connection from SAPN, helped me with getting power to the site rather than SAPN's option of power half way up a pole, some 60 metres from the property.

They fitted the meter board, ran conduit and a pull cord under the drive to where the pit will eventually be. Working with the earthworker and plumber, they did the trenched cabling to the new shed, back down to the place for the septic tank, across to where the slab for the house will be. Josh, on his preliminary visit confirmed the roof sizing was correct for the number of panels I wanted and installed the underground conduits out from the shed prior to the concreting. And installed what were going to be 2 spare ones over and above what I thought were the maximum I needed. They will be used for another 2 strings of panels on the house: originally the house wasn't going to have any panels, just the 30 on the shed. I'm so glad that Josh used his initiative and installed those spares.

The solar, inverter and Sungrow battery went in and then the guys moved on to doing the lighting, power, rainwater tank pump and provision for EV charging. They even found other jobs to do whilst I was speaking to Tech Support at Rheem about a supercharged resistive hot water system to gobble up the midday sun. Yup we needed a bigger capacity cable than we thought. Then it was time for the newly installed stink pipe to be trimmed back so it didn't create a shadow on the lowest panels.

All of this work had been scheduled for a later date than it happened because of difficulties with earthworkers and concreters. I am so glad that DQ Electrical were able to source the brand new design of 3 phase, 25kW inverter and also new to market battery stack and reschedule the works for the time the other people came together and that I had flown in to meet builders and see the works.

The works were all completed within a week which amazed me. After a phone call from Josh explaining how to remotely monitor the setup, I was enjoying a Coopers at the airport at 16.30 on midwinter's day and seeing the battery charging up at a good rate 45% to 55% as well as charging up my motorhome: the only load.

By 09.15 local time the next day, the battery had got to 99%, my motorhome batteries were fully charged and there was nothing else to be seen (remotely). I look forward to the eventual connection by SAPN so I can sign up to "LocalVolts" as a power supplier and use the power I'm generating to heat the draughty uninsulated rental in Sydney, whilst selling the surplus on the wholesale energy market. (Thanks to Anthony Bennett for that tip.)

I can't say that I have seen the shed, power, lighting and solar all finished but judging by the professionalism of the crew, it will all be as good as I saw before i left the site. The lads even cut some shelving system panel to size rather than me having to take it back and they brought the rubbish bin in before they left. Josh, you did do that for me didn't you?

All in all, DQ Electrical went above and beyond the call of duty and went that extra mile to deliver a good experience. I look forward to them coming back for the mains hook-up and then for the house sub-board and more panels to catch more of the he morning sun and fully load the inverter.

First choice based on previous experience

When we wanted to add to our current installation, DQ Electrical was our first choice based on our previous experience with them.

We had found them using SolarQuotes installer finder for our initial system install in November 2021.
That was a North facing 6.6kW system with LG panels and a Fronius inverter. Since installation it has run flawlessly and as of this review writing has generated nearly 27 megawatts of power ( 26.98 if you want to be testical) and by my calculations including self consumption and exports has saved us $4487 to the end of April this year. According to the trend line, it should owe us nothing about May 2026 and then it will be “making money”.

When I called Steve Alexander at DQ Electrical and explained that we could only fit a south facing system and I understood that it would be about 30% less output than the North facing system, he confirmed this and soon had a quote for some JA solar panels and the newer 5kW Fronius Primo Gen 24 inverter along with a Fronius smart meter which is required with dual inverters to coordinate output and manage export limiting etc.

Our installation day was trouble free and the guys rolled up at the promised time and made it look easy. My wife was impressed with how smooth and fuss free it was. #Experienced professionals. I came home to nothing except a working solar setup and a heap more information from the smart meter on my Fronius app.
Highly recommended if you want to know what is going on with your solar.

I went with Fronius inverters because they are the best IMHO because they have a fan for cooling so on a hot day your inverter does not derate and cooler electronics means it will live longer. Although they have a 10 year warranty, they should soldier on far longer thanks to their solid engineering. As a bonus, the inverters and smart meter all play nice with each other too and just work. My computer experience rejoices!

Once again thanks to DQ Electrical for doing a solid job and earning their deserved reputation. From Steve who is an experienced installer to the team who did the job, the depth of experience makes it trouble free and the fact that I have taken so much time to do this review shows my appreciation for a company that gets it right.

For gods sake don't bother with the cricketer endorsed ones as the sweetness of low price will be soured by the dubious quality and it well may end up costing more than just going with a good installer first time round because the shoddy has to be removed.
