You Get What You Pay For
GT Solar was referred to us by an acquaintance who said their experience with them wasn't bad. Unfortunately our experience didn't go as well as theirs.To be blunt, pricing is the only thing the company has going for them.
Initial communications with the salesperson were ok as he seemed knowledgeable having answered a number of questions and in a patient manner. However, he came across as arrogant and full of himself when questioned about certain costs (compared to other installers) saying other installers lie about costs and hide it within the finals price. He also said that he should have just lied and included the extra cost and even said he could do that to make us feel better about the overall price (came out to be half the cost of the entire market). It's clear that he would say what he needs to in order to get the sale across the line.
That said, we decided to go ahead with GT Solar given their price and the fact that panels and inverters installers use these days are all pretty much the same.
The salesperson, who was supposed to get installation schedule for us, pretty much dropped off. We had to contact him on a number of occasions to schedule a time for their sub-contracted electricians to come out for the installation. Communication within their team was poor as well. When I finally managed to speak with the person in-charge of scheduling jobs, they knew nothing of the 2-stage installation process that was agreed upon (which we also paid for) and kept telling me that they couldn't do the installation in 2-steps. This eventually was sorted after several phone calls and going back and forth.
The scheduler was a pain to deal with - never got back to me and kept arguing with me rather than listening to what I had to say.
I wasn't home when the installation happened but wasn't pleased to find that they had left garbage around the house and on the roof. They turned the hot-water switch off but didn't turn it back on which likely affected the hot-water timer as well, both of which we only found out after we ran out of hot water.
If pricing is your only concern, GT Solar may be the way to go. However, I wouldn't recommend them as their customer service is pretty poor and I'm hoping we don't have any issues going forward.

Disgusting service
Used these guys to install a 6.6kw solar system to my property. Very straight forward job. They told me it was all sorted and up and running. I paid the bill. That was over 4.5 months ago and I still don’t have solar. Use a different company. There are Plenty out there. These guys so far wont return to sort out a job that’s paid and completed and never worked. I’ve made many calls and sent many emails. No progress. Very disappointed to say the least.Panel rating: 1/5

Good customer service and installation
A good experience. Sales person attentive but not pushy. Technical people very responsive. Installation very good, talked through options such as panel, string, and inverter placement.I've been pleasantly surprised by the output on cloudy days, but a bit disappointed it's not been higher on sunny days
6 months later we asked Graham: "Are you happy with the performance of your system so far?"
September: My system is performing great after 6 months, and after carefully choosing my electricity retailer, I'm already getting negative bills in my all electric house. In August, in Melbourne, total output was 630kwh, over 20kwh pd. Bring on the summer!

Overall good service and installation the Electrician forgot to reconnect the oven so 8 out of 10 l did report to Gt solar but I still have had no response
Sales person was very good.Install personal professional made one mistake didn't reconnect the oven.
Office staff are very helpful.

Excellent knowledge and service
Jack is the first contact person for our solar installation, upon strong recommendation from several friends. At the quoting and comparing stage, Jack's professionalism is simply so outstanding and then we decided to go with GT Solar, for two houses. Jack seems knowing everything about Solar, and his patience to explain the complicated technology and process to someone like me who know nothing about Solar is impeccable and must be highly praised.We put solar in two houses in different time, and both teams are punctual and polite and professional. The team led by Hao is so efficient and I could not believe that they have already got the job done after several hours.
Jack and his team also fully supported the grid connection after the installation, and everything becomes so easy even though sometimes the power provider can be difficult.

Best customer Focused approach
The process was simple and quick. Jack was one of the best system designer I came across. Acted on the customer's best interest. Installation was on time, polite fantastic installers. One of the BEST out there. I would definitely give 6 stars for Customer service if possible.08 February 2021

Neat and friendly
I am very fussy and particular and GTsolar took that on board.The solar panels are visible from the road and had to look good and they are.
The inverter was beautifully installed, very neat.

Excellent clientele service before and after sales
Highly recommended. Got referred by a friend due to an extra ordinary customer care by GT Solar Sales Specialist-Mel Tan. 101% satisfaction from start to finish stages of the product installation. Comprehensive iinormation provided prior to signing the contract. Mel Tan will make the technical facts easy to understand to typical homeowners. GT Solar team made it easy for us to acquire solar panels system. They made itt all possible down from the paperwork to convert our current electricity plan to solar meter replacement, installation and grid connection, and up to monitoring the energy production thought the app.The installetes came on time as agreed and had a pleasant conversation with them.
Done and dusted in a blink of an eye. Good job Mel Tan!

Highly recommended.
We recently had our system put in with GT solar and Kuya Mel Tan here in Murray Bridge.From the start, all the travels, explanation, process and installation, kuya Mel was very hands on and very patient with us. Thank you so much Kuya for taking time explaining everything to us and given a perfect deal which suits our needs and budget!

From start to finish of the quoting and payment process Jack was always keeping in touch and was always informative and available to answer any questions. The installers were on time and finished the installation with professionalism and we're polite and courteous. Great customer support
Jack did not hesitate to come on a public holiday for the initial quote. He gave detailed information on the best suitable system. We had other quotes but selected GT Solar because they are locally based and their customer support and services is commendable. Great job from GT-Solar
Jack was very nice and helpful - explained everything thoroughly.We are very pleased to get the Solar Panels and Inverter installed and see it working perfectly. The service is also quite customized. He did satisfy me for my extra request to use bigger size DC cable than standard with reasonable extra cost. I know some other Solar companies just simply refused me.
We were very pleased with the efficient manner in which three guys carried out the installation. (Sorry for forgetting their names)
We are very happy so far - invert runs well and generate electricity as expected. Well done Jack!

Fantastic customer service. Will recommend to friends
Initially this company was recommeded by my neighbour because we have just moved in & found our electricity bill was extremely high.Then I called Gavin - the sales manager of this company. He agreed to pay us a visit.
A very polite young man who taught us a lot abot solar.
He offered some valuable suggestions and even provided a forecasting report for the system designed.
However, my wife is a very cautious person and she suggested to search more in the market. Thus we digged a lot.
After comparing dozens of quotes, we found GT still could be the best option:
1. The price is fair. 2. Office in CT and local warehouse in Adelaide means we have no need to worry about future warranty issues. 3. Their customer service is fantastic - all the paperworks were done by them.
So we back to Gavin and the whole installation was very successful.
Now, we are almost eliminating bill payment.
Just briefly sharing our experience. Hope will help anyone who wants to buy solar.

Professional and responsible
Jack is very professional and knowledgeable. I got a few quotes but Jack explained the most detailed info and always responds in a timely manner. Installation was efficient and neat. After installation, Jack has still been very easy to communicate with. Any little thing, I know I will get a response from him and he will deal with it. Very disappointing
Who would purchase/install a solar battery system that did not supply power to a house when a power outage occured, well thats what GT Solar did to me had a black out today but battery did not back up house rang GT Solar, told me i need to pay $1200 that to happen, well see you in court.
