Fantastic installation process and high-quality battery system

The sales and quoting process was very efficient, factual and honest. Communication was clear, questions were answered promptly and professionally and the proposal was straightforward with no unnecessary back-and-forth. Further I really liked that they didn't try to sell an oversized system but rather a high-quality battery that fits our usage.

The installation itself went very well. The installers were punctual, professional and tidy, and the work was completed efficiently without any disruption.

Customer service after the installation was also excellent. The team checked in to see how the system is performing and if everything is working as expected. Overall, a great end-to-end experience and a very well-functioning system.

A fantastic experience from the initial query to the final solar battery installation. Olivia from the consultancy team was very prompt and provided a quote tailored to both my budget and future needs.

Once I gave the go-ahead, the installation was scheduled within 2 weeks—much faster than any other quotes I received. On the day, a professional team of two arrived and did a really neat and tidy job.

Hugely Satisfied with Whole Process

From our first enquiry with Tom in Sales to the handover by our installer Ryan, we were so well looked after, questions answered fully and patiently, explanations given clearly. Tom took the time to find out about our needs and gave all the info and prices needed to make an informed decision; Ryan and his offsider arrived promptly and then efficiently installed our panels and battery and cleaned up afterwards completely. Ryan patiently explained the app which we’re loving using the app to see how much power is being made and used each day. The staff in the office were excellent in passing messages, getting back to us and setting up and informing us of the schedule and doing all the applications for grants, as well as organising the grid connection and following up with the energy supplier to make sure the connection was correctly recorded. Positive Energy as a team were excellent. Thankyou everyone.

Beware of AC coupled battery to existing system.

I had an existing Solaredge 5kw system with 6.5kw of panels.

The initial pricing and options were reasonable and communications were prompt before signing up for an AC coupled battery rather than the much more expensive system replacement.

The installation day was fair but there were a few teething problems getting it going afterwards that the installer had to ask Sigenergy about and although he had left for the day he said he would ring me back once he heard. It didn’t happen that day and I had to call him the next day. The gateway box was larger than expected and needed to be relocated as it interfered with the stairs. It would be a good reason to watch the installation more often before holes start being drilled. The first location interfered with the stair access and while the installer seemed capable I think he was bored by the whole process so didn’t give it a lot of thought.

My MAJOR issue now is that the completed system does not export limit at all which has shocked me and is in breach of DEBS requirements. A couple of days after installation I had a fully charged battery and it was a cooler day so demand was down and my system started exporting more than the 1.5 kw maximum that is a DEBS requirement. I emailed Positive and informed them that the system did not appear to be working properly for the export limit. At this point I had seen within the Sig app that there was a grid export power limit that says it has to be set by the installer but it was disabled. The following week I emailed Positive again but still had no response. On the third week I looked on the Positive site and emailed a more senior person in the company. The next day he copied me on an email he had sent to their service department and by lunchtime I saw that the app power limit was enabled in the app and set to 1.5kw although there was no communication to me from the service team. I managed my power so the battery fully charged and the system would export and the result was that there was no change and it still exported everything I wasn’t consuming in excess of the DEBS limit.

I then took screenshots to prove this and sent that on to the executive who had actioned my previous email. The reply I received was that SIGENERGY CANNOT EXPORT LIMIT SOLAREDGE. Now I’m really in shock because while Positive have offered to do everything for you and lodge all the paperwork they have never communicated that the system will not be compliant! As far as managing the export limit I thought that the new installation somehow managed the extraction required between the storms. Why on earth would someone sign up on that basis and doesn’t the retailer need to ensure that what they deliver is fit for purpose? Soon I expect Synergy will be in contact and tell me to shutdown the whole system because it’s non compliant. It’s still unresolved and some communications are taking place but it has been indicated that it could take some time (it is not clear how it can be done even with some Solaredge advice) because they have to communicate with Solaredge and they may be slow to respond.

Unfortunately I paid the remainder of the invoice in the first couple of days although Positive have been non commital about how this situation has occurred and just said all their internal processes are sound.

A very disappointing outcome after I paid a bit more for the same thing with Positive rather than other companies. Maybe I can edit this post if there is some developments but I don’t expect it will be easy as the tone of communication so far is that they haven’t done anything wrong.

Professional team

From start to finish the process was so easy I literally called up explained what I wanted , they understood and produced an even better system, hey I love my new battery’s and solar is working a treat, I was in aware of the grants and they sorted it all out, the office staff and the communication was really good the guys that did the installation were tidy and on time my garage was actually cleaner after they left than before they started ? they guys showed me how to use the app and how it all works, trust me I’ll be doing my next house with Positive Energy for sure ! Great company to deal with, especially when it came to working through issues

I waited to write this review almost 2 years since first contacting Positive Energy Solutions, because I wanted to know if the product I purchased did actually what I was told it would do.

Louis was my point of contact from the very beginning to end. Unfortunately (to various elements outside of everyone's control) there were unforeseen circumstances that made my solar and battery installation a bit unusual. Firstly, after putting my order in and a deposit I had a death in the family. I was stressed about money and the company treated me with nothing but understanding, kindness and generosity and let me put everything on hold with no pressure to continue due to what had happened.

After things had settled, I came back to Louis almost a year later, and he happily picked up where we left off, offering me many different options and products and explaining the different outcomes and warranties also future proofing and modelling. I really appreciated all this detail as this was a big investment for our home.

After choosing to proceed with the installation of solar panels and 2 batteries, the installers were very respectful and wonderful to deal with, but unfortunately our 80 year old roof had some issues. This was a bit distressing for us as we couldn't proceed without dealing with the roof which was approaching end of life anyway (we were unaware of this as we had just purchased the house and we didn't realise the roof was original), and although I was quite a large curveball, Positive Energy took the situation very seriously and remained solution focused, helped us manage the situation with as much support as they were able, and after a few extra steps on our end we then got our system installed and it has been working wonderfully for a year with our electricity bill in credit for the last two bills.

Being in the building industry and having run many projects myself, I can say that things often go wrong for unforeseen reasons outside of people's control. What is most important to me is that the people you work with remain friendly, polite, solution focused, and keep you informed with information and options to help fix any problems that arise and ultimately get you to where you want to be. Despite the issues we had, everyone in this company worked diligently to help us every step of the way to get the best product installed as quickly as possible.

I have also contacted Louis after installation for some queries regarding the tracking app and he has always been available and quick to respond, even when overseas on holidays.

This is a true, genuine small business that tries to put their customers first. My advice to anyone looking into solar is that things happen with any project, especially when buildings and permits or rebates are concerned. I did initially get quotes from a few companies that offered cheaper options, but at the end of the day I went with the company who gave me thorough information and were open and respectful from the start, and I am very glad I did because when we did run in to the issues I mentioned I am positive it would have been a horrible experience but for the wonderful installation support and communication and resolution from Positive Energy.

Wonderful system and a solid crew all round. Definitely recommend.

Post Sales Service Lacking

Sales process was good, quick, informative and persuasive.

Installation of the panels was good and without incident.

Installation of battery and backup box had initial hiccup with the team unilaterally deciding they would install the backup box in a different location. They were instructed to cease work and wait for the team lead. This was eventually rectified.

Installation of EV Charger appeared to be without incident. However, the backup box was not retested after this installation. The breaker now trips and the backup box no longer works automatically without manual reset of the breaker.

6 Dec submit service ticket > 8 Dec receive first email contact with no follow up > 14 Dec loop in Positive Energy management as no further service response.....Matter currently unresolved

We are very satisfied with the outcome, it was a considerable decision for us, your support in reviewing and changing the options, promptly, and honouring the quotes for the first trance of battery rebates and then surprising us with an almost immediate install, while you are all flat out was an unexpected outcome - thank you!!

The slimline profile of the iStore battery stacks has been effective with no encroachment on our garage parking footprint - the iStore products and App are everything we have read about.

The install team did an exceptional install, neat placement, all electrical conduits are tight & symmetrical while picking off as minimal wall space as possible (making the most and wall space) all in the 1 day!!

We found the Positive Energy Team back in 2023, which led to a modest Solar Panel and Battery install at the time.
With the introduction of the Federal and State Battery Rebate, we researched and decided to investigate the potential day to day additional electrical storage value to us. We approached the Positive Energy Team on the back of the excellent service provided back in 2023 to investigate our capacity increase curiosity. We committed after reveiwing a number of battery capacity options and product dimensions. The install eam did an amazing install back then (2023), and the same team repeated the quality on the 8th of December 2025.

HIgh Quality Installation

There was a quick response to the request for a quotation although there was a delay before it was eventually determined that my initial battery choice did not meet the VPP requirements of the W A government and was ineligible for the state rebate. Positive Energy came back with a range of alternatives, and I opted for the Sigenstor 16 kWh battery with DC coupling to the existing 6 kW panels plus Gateway backup.

The installers arrived as scheduled and took time to provide a clean and uncluttered installation. I was certainly impressed at the quality of the work and the fact that all cabling is hidden, running in the double brick cavity and in the roof space. Penetrations into the brick cavity were sealed against water and insect ingress. An independent electrician doing work in the roof space a few days later commented on the high standard of the work, noting the DC cables were running in conduit fixed to the rafters and not left hanging loose.

The installer explained the basics of the system’s operation, along with the shutdown procedure and bypass controls. The backup system was also tested. The switchover to the battery must have been almost instantaneous with no noticeable power disturbance or flickering of lights.

It’s too early to comment on future performance, but since the installation, and on a sunny day, no power has been drawn from the grid despite running whole-of-home ducted air-conditioning while simultaneously recharging the battery and exporting power to the grid. Very hot days and nights and a cold, grey winter to come will be the real test.

Fantastic Service, Quality Advice and Quality Installation

Positive experience from beginning to end. I had lots of discussions with Louis one of the owners around right sizing of my system and battery units including whether to go with a a larger inverter than the standard 5kw system given we have a large ducted Daiken aircon system upstairs and a series of multi split aircon units downstairs. after lots of debate and discussion we settled on the Fronius 5kw gen 24 hybrid inverter paired with 20kw of Fronius Reserva batteries and 10kw of panels on the roof. since istallation we have been roughly 98% self reliant! we are big energy users with a peak draw of ~52kw on the 40c day we had recently driven by the aircons and my partner doing a heap of baking. on that day we drew ~3kw from the grid with the rest being supplied by the system.

Super impressive and fantastic service, including their install team who were meticulous.

Extremely satisfied result

After consulting with three of Perth’s leading installers, we selected Positive Energy Solutions based on the professionalism and clarity provided by Neil. He took the time to explain our options thoroughly and recommended the correct system size for our needs, rather than simply selling a larger system.

Once the system size and price were agreed upon, the process was seamless. Neil and his team managed all aspects of the installation, ensuring we had nothing to worry about.

Our system was installed in late November by Hiroshi and his team, who arrived promptly and worked with exceptional courtesy and attention to detail. As a former tradesman, I was impressed by the quality of their tools, their housekeeping standards, and the care taken throughout the installation. Hiroshi explained the process clearly before commencing, which gave us confidence in the work being undertaken.

The installation was completed smoothly over two days, with workmanship of the highest standard. The inverter, battery, and panels were perfectly aligned, and the team demonstrated respect for our home by maintaining cleanliness throughout.

Negative Energy

It’s hard to know where to start with this review, as the experience with Positive Energy (PE) was anything but. As a customer, I was treated with a lack of respect and, as a solar customer, was given an ultimatum: ‘You find the solution or we will remove the whole system’.
Written in plain text on their website, it reads:
“We pride ourselves on our high quality of work, and won’t rest until you are completely happy with the final product.”
My first consultation with the salesperson (Solar Quotes doesn’t allow real names for negative reviews) was friendly and helpful—plain sailing! The salesperson spent about an hour explaining options and answering questions. I was keen to use PE due to their great online reviews and, given this was a 25-year investment, I wanted the right company.
I found PE through Solar Quotes and compared quotes from other reputable companies. Despite PE’s being the most expensive, I chose them after a couple of follow-up calls and email exchanges. I paid the deposit a week later and advised PE that I first needed a roof plumber to resolve some issues and install gutter guards. Once that was done, I’d confirm availability. PE contacted me twice over the six-week period to discuss install dates.
During this time, I also continued reading about solar and battery systems and came across a new brand, Sigenergy. I phoned the salesperson twice to talk about Sigenergy and battery options. Both times, they were hard to reach and only got back to me after I left messages with PE directly. The second time, the salesperson said they thought my install was already completed. It seemed that my system was of little importance.
About three weeks before the install date, I learned about a proposed government battery rebate, which would make a battery viable. I contacted the salesperson and asked to delay the install until after July and to increase the system size from 6.6 to 10–11?kW. The response? Frustration: “Ahhh, we’ve already done so much work on this.”
They then suggested a two-phase install: do the 6.6?kW system as scheduled, then complete the rest with a battery after July. I was hesitant—rebate details were still unclear, and I preferred to avoid multiple installs on my roof. But the salesperson assured me the total cost would be the same. Knowing solar companies were struggling with most customers delaying installs, I agreed.
The revised quote didn’t come until I followed up. When it did, I thought it was high. I got a like-for-like quote from another reputable company for the same 10.5?kW system with 12.8?kWh batteries—PE’s quote was $4,330 more expensive!
I told the salesperson the price seemed too high. They said it was because the install was split into two phases—wait, what? They eventually agreed to reduce the price slightly and noted that I’d save on electricity by installing now. It was still a couple of thousand more, but given their good reputation and the groundwork already done, I agreed to continue.
Again, I had to follow up to get the panel layout. “Yep, I’ll get it to you tomorrow,” the salesperson said. That’s when things got even weirder.
Suddenly, they suggested putting panels on the west roof—even though from the start we had ruled it out due to major shading. Then they said the system wouldn’t fit at all and asked how other companies had managed to quote it. They mentioned possibly placing panels on the southern roof, which I had clearly said I wanted to avoid. The salesperson then went quiet and never followed up before the install date. I assumed it was all sorted.
On install day, I was surprised to see contractors, not PE’s own team. I was sure the salesperson mentioned they used their own crew. The contractors told me they were installing the 6.6?kW system and preparing for the second phase later, which I agreed to.
The lead installer briefly showed me a panel layout on his phone that I had never seen. Why wasn’t I shown it earlier or consulted? More importantly, the original quote had 13 panels on the main north-facing roof, but this layout showed just 9.
I contacted PE and asked for a copy of the layout. After several questions, I was told the boss said the design couldn’t be changed. I was never contacted by the system designer or given any reason for the significant changes, which now included using optimisers and placing 4 panels on the southern roof.
Then the install team told me they could only fit 7 panels on the north-facing roof—so from 13 in the original quote to 7 installed! Again, PE didn’t tell me this—the install team did.
I phoned the salesperson that day to ask what was going on and why I hadn’t been consulted. They were clearly annoyed and said they had already told me, and added: “What do you want me to do?!” In retrospect, shouldn’t they have been the one looking for a solution or at least explaining what happened?
I reminded them I was never sent a final plan or consulted about these changes—only vague comments like “it won’t fit” or “we’ll need to use the west and south roofs.” They ended the call by saying something like, “It’ll be sunny tomorrow—you’ll enjoy watching your solar production.” After that, no one followed up—not the salesperson, the designer, or anyone from PE management.
I was really disappointed. After all the research I’d done, I dreaded being stuck with a sub-par system. I contacted Solar Quotes to ask:
Is it normal to quote 13 panels but install only 7 (a 54% drop)?
Is it normal not to be consulted or updated on major changes?
Could a workaround have been found?
They said a 13-to-7 panel drop could happen if no site visit was done—but the salesperson did a site visit. They also said communication should’ve been better and that I should’ve been notified immediately. Another installer might have found a workaround, though the screw lines could have made it difficult.
Solar Quotes reached out to PE and asked them to contact me. A week passed—nothing. Solar Quotes followed up again—still nothing. Eventually, I phoned PE and spoke to the person who seemed to be managing my case.
That call was a waste of time. The boss was confrontational and unwilling to discuss the issues or look for solutions. They kept saying I’d been kept informed and that they had gone “above and beyond,” yet provided no proof of any design changes being sent or explained to me.
Then came the kicker:
“I would trust the word of my salesman over a difficult customer.”?They also said the salesperson was a great mate and had been the best man at their wedding.
How did this become personal? This was a business issue—about discrepancies between the quote and the install. And now I was being called “difficult” for pointing that out?
Clear weaknesses:
Do PE measure roofs before quoting? NO. The boss told me they never do this.
Do PE check screw lines for panel fit? NO, not in my case.
Do they use their own install team? Not in my experience.
Are major last-minute design changes acceptable? According to them, YES—even a 54% reduction is fine. They pointed to their terms and conditions, which say the system design may change on the day.
And finally, ?Do they put the customer first? In my case, absolutely not. I wasn't shown the final plan (the changes made before install day!) and I was told the boss didn’t want to proceed with my install because I was “a difficult customer.” At no point did they try to find a solution or consult me on alternatives.
Given all this, how can Positive Energy deliver a good system, let alone a great one?! The hyperbole on their website claims they deliver the best tailor-made solar systems in Perth. I say no way! Even if everything is plain sailing, or they're making another promo video!
To conclude, this (very informative!) experience and further research taught me some important lessons:
Use a company that does their own installs
Insist on a roof inspection and physical measure before quoting
Work only with companies that offer clear, upfront communication
In the end, PE told me to either accept the system as-is or have it removed and refunded. What happened to “we won’t rest until you’re completely happy”?
Given their attitude, I gladly took the refund and proceeded with the company that gave me the like-for-like quote. They were super professional, used their own team, and two of the owners personally handled inspection and install. They told me exactly how many panels would fit. They installed a brilliant 11?kW system with no panels on the west (shaded) or south roofs. They could only fit 8 panels

Positive Feedback for Positive Energy Solutions

In support of the Solar Quotes concept I am writing to relay positive feedback for Positive Energy Solutions. Following the initial solar install we took some time to consider battery options and landed on a 15 kW iStore battery for our 6.5 kW invertor. The battery install was quick, efficient and very informative regarding the system operation. While we have not yet seen our first bill I can see from the daily diagnostics that there will be significant savings.

Very happy with my new solar set up

We are very happy with our new 19.8 kW solar PV system and 25 kWh battery system. It replaces our old 6kW system that Positive Energy Solutions removed as part of the package. The entire process from initial contact / signup to installation and after service has been a positive experience.

Adon our sales rep was very knowledgable, non-pushy, and a pleasure to deal with. He answered my questions and stated the facts when it came to different brands and setup combinations. A lot of that information was verified and confirmed by cross referencing with the vast amount of information on the Solarquotes website.

Installation was relatively painless with the installers being polite, courteous, and cleaning up after themselves. Once the installation was completed, I was given a rundown on how the system works and how to use the iSolarCloud app..

Everything to do with battery rebates and VPP's was handled by Positive Energy Solutions. I was sent the relative information to complete and return, and it was all set up for me. The whole process was very easy and simple.

I would definitely recommend Positive Energy Solutions to anyone considering purchasing a new system or upgrading their older system.

Happy to switch to solar and battery!

To start with, the sales staff were very friendly and helpful - even coming to site to answer a few queries I had when most suppliers were under the pump with the new rebates kicking in and couldn't come. The final system quoted was adapted to fit our budget.
The install itself was done on time, with friendly and professional staff, particularly discussing the best location for the battery and inverter. The handover at end of day was very simple and straightforward.
And now the system is running for 3 weeks and we have not drawn any energy from the gird after first day (we have had good conditions for the time it has been in place).
Its early days yet, but the initial experience of converting to using solar and battery has been very good!

Excellent installer

We ordered a BYD HVM 22.1 kWh battery with Fronius 3 phase backup controller to complement our existing solar panels and Fronius inverter. The team at Positive Energy Solutions made it a smooth process throughout. There was regular communication with prompt responses to my queries. The battery was neatly installed last week and is performing as expected. All associated administration (e.g. application for rebates and connection to grid) were handled by them.

Couldnt ask for better.

Starting from the quote stage it was simple, not pushy and informative. Other quotes I had people phoning me up and asking how much I had been quoted and who I went with. I refused to answer. Simply give your best quote at the time and cut the bull. This is what Positive Energy Solutions did.

Fantastic all round

Louis and the team at Positive Energy were quick to respond to my email inquiry, calling me back the next business day whilst inundated with other potential clients also looking to capitalise on the WA and Federal home battery rebates.

As I was only looking to upgrade my current system, from a single 5kwh battery to a 15kwh battery setup, Louis was able to find time between bigger installation projects to have his lead battery installer, Ryan, to come around and upgrade my system.

Ryan and his apprentice were super friendly, showed up a good 5 minutes before their scheduled arrival time and did an amazing job. The team were very tidy, cleaning up all rubbish and vacuuming everywhere around their workspace.
They not only installed the extra battery modules and did all the back end work to have the plant activated, they went through and double checked my battery failover system (originally installed by a different provider) and found that not only were some of the crucial wires not terminated properly there were incorrect connections made - so they fixed the terminations and rewired the circuit as necessary, then tested it repeatedly to ensure that it was properly working.

The accounts team were very friendly and not pushy in trying to get their money immediately but were first asking if I was happy with the quality of the service, making the interaction very pleasant for me as a consumer.

All round, a very pleasant experience and one I have been recommending to everyone in WA who has talked to me about wanting to get or upgrade their solar system.
I will return to Positive Energy Solutions should I need to do any further modifications to my system in the future, or if I move house and look to add solar energy to it.

Our Solar and Battery install with Positive Energy was trouble free and seamless.

All the installers we encountered were first rate. They were professional, respectful and easy to communicate with. They were also very well supported by there back office planning and scheduling team. Specifically I'd would like to acknowledge the efforts of Maria. I can only imagine how challenging the last few months have been. Maria was always highly organised and communicated very clearly and effectively with us.

Fantastic and trustworthy installer

I chose Positive Energy Solutions because I felt more comfortable with the products they offer and stand by. The sales approach wasn't a pressure tactic either. My sales consultant Mark helped me figure out my household energy requirements for future proofing my house for the long run apon selecting the product I went for. He was genuine and informative and gave me options to help suit my buget aswell. Overall the installation was great and a nice and neat finish. They also managed to get my installation completed alot erlier then expected which was a plus. Great experience with a highly regarded company.

We recently had a solar battery installed by Positive Energy Solutions. The process began several months prior when a PES consultant came to our home to advise us about installing a battery. He was great! Answered all of our questions and did not pressure us. He continued to keep us informed via email when we had more questions after the home visit.
On installation day, a great team came to our home (who arrived earlier than the expected time). I was kept informed throughout the installation by the team leader. All team members were polite and respectful. Due to weather conditions the job couldn't be fully completed on the day, so a team came back two days later to complete the job (we also had essentials power backup and a 32A power outlet for EV charging installed as part of the job).

I was very impressed with the dedication of the team leader who kept checking on the system remotely after they left, as he was receiving some error messages from the inverter. He contacted me with instructions of what to do, and then came back on the Monday morning to check the issues were resolved. Since then, the system has been working great. We are very much enjoying using almost no power from the grid!

Oustanding Customer Service! Informative and clean installation!

I had a genuinely great experience with positive energy regarding my BYD battery install.

Maddy (solar & battery consultant) went above and beyond to ensure my needs were met in terms of size, options, payments etc, even calling after hours to assist with any queries I had which I did not expect but appreciated.

Shane the installer was very informative when explaining the whole installation process and all the questions I had to ask him, he did a thorough job and tidied up before leaving keeping the space as it was prior to installation.

Overall, a great experience and the system is working perfectly.

I would highly recommend positive energy and will be returning once I decide to expand my system further.
