Green.com.au was founded by brothers David and Jonathan Green in 2020. Green by name, green by nature. 

Their vision was to run a company with the moral foundation and values of a family business, with the professionalism and leverage of the big end of town. Fast forward to today and Green is on a mission to become Australia's largest renewable energy company. Green has offices in Sydney, Victoria, Perth, Brisbane and Adelaide.

Along with solar panels and batteries, the company also supplies and installs EV chargers and hot water heat pump systems.

Don't use Green if you can avoid it.

I’m not sure how Green operates in the Easten states, but do not us them if you are in Western Australia. I tried to do the right thing and used solar quotes to find an installer. Green.com.au was on the top 3 on the list. I signed up with Green end of October last year. just before Christmas I got an email from Synergy to say my inverter was a 10kW inverter which was incorrect, it's only a 5kW. I contacted Synergy and was told I need to get the installer to cancel the application and re-apply. I contacted the installer and was assured they had check on things, and they would deal with it. In January I sent an email to Green.com.au to check on the progress, I got a response to say they had done everything they could and was waiting on Western Power. In the beginning of February, I contacted Western Power to see what was happening with the application? Western Power informed me there was no application! I contacted Green again and they didn't really know what was going on, but suddenly I got a call to say the installer would do a site visit, and the install date would be the 10th of April. There had been no contact since the information in February. I contacted Green 3 days before the agreed install date, to check if everything was going ahead as I had organised to have the day off to make sure the installed had access. We are now on the 10th of April, expecting the install would turn up in the morning, as I was informed 3 days before by Green. No installer before 8am. I called Green to check what was going on, I was informed normally the installer would attend between 7 to 10am. If he had not shown up by 10:30 I should call them back. No installer by 10:30 so I called Green, they couldn't give me an answer but would call me back. Finally, at 11:30 Green called and said, they were not sure what was going on but they would get the WA office to give me a call. This company don't seem to have any respect for their client and just keep saying "sorry something went wrong". I don't hold much hope for the quality of the install. Now it's midday and still no installer. I'm bitterly regretting signing up with this company. I have just been informed the install can't go ahead because they don't have any stock. What? They have only known about this since October. The installation date is now Thursday the16th April.
I put a review up on Google after all this and rightly deserve. I got a call from the Directing manager on the Tuesday, to say she had seen my review and was very sorry.


But she would handle things from now on, and there shouldn’t be anymore difficulties. To be fair she offered me and extra battery unit for free because of all the problems, but I would have to remove my review.
The installation started around 8am on the Thursday, only one guy showed up, I asked if there were more people coming. He said there would be a couple coming later. At around 12:30 the next guy turns up and start to help. Then around 15:00 they start to pack up and say they will be back tomorrow. What? I express my disappointment to the DM; I’m getting sorry again. The installer attends Friday morning around 7:30, (good job I’m on holiday this week). He finally finishes the job around 16:00, and everything seems to be working.

Green is very quick to send you the invoice. I did get $200 off the total for the delay of the install.

A few days later I discover a couple of light don’t work on a circuit, the rest of the circuit works. I can only conclude that it’s a loose wire or one not connected. I contact Green again, I’m being told it’s unlikely it’s a loose wire, it could be my house wiring? But why did it work before the battery was installed?

I didn’t have any response to my concern, so I sent another email to Green. The installer called me to hear my story, I explained it to him, he basically implied it had nothing to do with him, and it must be my wiring. I went up in the roof cavity and basically saw spaghetti junction. With wires running under and over air-con ducting. I sent pictures to Green and questioned the compliance with the wires.
Finally on the 11th May the installer came back, with demands before he entered.
He was straight up in the roof to “pin” the wires, he obviously knew it was not a great job. He spent around 20 minutes on the lights there were not working. He was stating he had not disturbed anything there could cause the light not to work, and if further investigation would be billed. The only way I can describe the installer as arrogant.

I went on a mission to see if I could locate the fault, spent several hours checking wires and junction boxes. I expressed my dissatisfaction to Green about the outcome of the installer’s “investigation”. Again, I got a call form from the DM, saying she had spoken to the installer and there is nothing further they can do. What? Am I just having to have a couple of lights not working? I ventured to places I shouldn’t be, but behind the switchboard was a loose wire. I will guaranty it’s the wire for the lights. Why should I have to fault find, because the installer is lazy and only after easy money to unsuspecting clients?

I forwarded a picture of the loose wire the DM, straight away, the installer will contact you tomorrow and attach the wire. By 13:30 the following day I contacted the DM saying there better be someone contacting me before COB. I was told the installer was just around the corner on his way. Where was the phone call? I suddenly must drop everything at work to get back to my house. Luckily, I was able to leave work, and I only have about 15 minutes’ drive. But honestly this company is absolutely hopeless at communication, and my prediction earlier was correct that the installation was just as littered with stuff ups as trying to get the battery organised in the first place.

Increased Capacity

Green did my original battery Instal a few years ago and they did a great job. I contacted them some time ago about an increase in capacity (2 more sungrow modules) but at the time the price didn't seem worth it at the time. Just recently they contacted me and offered a great deal on that up grade so I went ahaead. The proceess was quick and effortless. Mr Zhe Tong (my original Battery Install tech) did my upgrade. Just like last time he was quick, neat and left the premiss spotless. In a mater of a few hour the increaded capcity batery was installed and charging.
I wouldn't hesitate on recommending Green.com.au. Also the fact that they still retained the original technicial says a lot for the company.

Excellent Service and Professional Installation

I had a fantastic experience with Green from start to finish. The customer service was excellent, with Ryan being particularly thorough and incredibly helpful throughout the process.
What stood out most was that Green genuinely provided a sensible, practical solution tailored to my property, rather than trying to push their product like other vendors I had spoken to. They took into account the specific position of my house and the shape of the roof, which was refreshing.
All information was communicated clearly, with no surprises on the day of installation. The installation team was highly professional and took great care of my property throughout the work.
Overall, it was a great experience, and I highly recommend Green to anyone considering their services.

Installation and Sales Review

The sales and quoting process was effortless and seamless, thanks to the Sales Agent Olivia Mayfield! Credit to her professionalism and attention to details and very client centric. Was great dealing with Olivia.
The Installation went well according to plan, punctual, courteous and clean up well after all the work is done. Very helpful, showing us the apps and hoe to monitor the usage.

Overall very happy with the customer service and follow ups, keeping us posted all the time.

Best Value Quality System & Service

Excellent sales team led by Sean McGovern who was very clear and patient in stepping me through all the options and possibilities to enable me to choose the optimised battery and solar panel set-up for my home. System was installed quickly and efficiently by a great team who helped optimise the installation on the day and provide me exactly what I needed. Now I'm enjoying the savings of not having to pay an energy company to power my house and the simple repayment system that Green helped me set up.

From Quote To Install Nothing Short Of AWESOME!

From the initial quote stages with Braith Sandy from Green.com.au the experience was nothing like the experience we had with the other 4 companies who had quoted us already .... Green quoted that our requirements were far different to anything we'd received to date, they were the first company who did not talk down any opposition solar companies or products! They only spoke to the great range of brands that they have on offer, they also provided us with great advice in 2 different sized set ups using different brand options and price points for our home all without hesitation, this was a refreshing change from our previous experiences.

The install was carried out by Tom & Michael from Western Elec and they were nothing short of amazing they did great work, they tidied everything up after they were done, they were polite knowledgeable and most of all more than happy to answer any and all questions we had for them, we had to leave our home whilst they were finishing their install on day 2 due to a family medical emergency so we were not able to be home when they finished the install. But they left all our documents together with phone numbers to contact them with any and all questions we may have. I would be more than happy to send these two fellas to my elderly mums house without any hesitation which is the highest praise I could ever give!

Well done and huge thanks to the incredible combined efforts of Green & the guys from Western Elec, your honesty, integrity and customer service is beyond our expectations we will absolutely recommend you to our friends and family who are looking to get Solar for their homes!

Extreme delays

I've just had my installation done after paying a deposit in September. There have been numerous phone calls and emails since this time. Several promised installation dates, its been a difficult process.
As they are suppliers, not installers you are relying on them having a contracted installer in your area. This seemed to be an issue, though I would not consider the Shoalhaven to be rural or remote.
Once I had an installer the process went well, he did indicate if he had been given the job earlier it could have been attended to months ago.
Whilst the inital process was quick and pricing competitive, I would recommend a engaging a local installer.
I have since had communication with Green who have apologized, hopefully the experience will be improved should there be any problems with my Alpha ESS

Great installer

The sales quoting experience for the supply and installation of a Tesla Powerwall 3 battery was pretty good, communication good and prompt receipt of quotations. Easy process for acceptance and paid deposit.The in between process from accepting the quotation to installation was not so good, poor communication. Required constant follow up from me to get an installation date which was frustrating and had me questioning myself did I go with the right company. Wait time was advised at 8 weeks from paid deposit and took over 3 months. I requested a site inspection as I knew there would some difficulties and I was met with some reluctance and whilst it was agreed to by Green it did not happen. A fair bit of time wasted on the day of installation because of this and installation took a lot longer than expected but fortunately I had really good installers who worked with Green to resolve the issues on the day and they cared about their work doing a good job to make me happy. Very respectful and tidy took all rubbish away. No additional costs to me with a non straight install and whilst it took a bit longer to complete they did a great job, very happy with their work. A bit of tweaking was required after install but was attended to promptly at the service dept of Green and I was satisfied with with the company. But note, the installers were unable to connect the Powerwall for blackout battery back up which was the main reason I chose the Powerwall as there were issues that needed to be resolved with my sub board at my cost which I understood, however, if a site inspection had occurred as requested this would have been resolved by the day of installation.

Worth the wait. It's a busy time for battery suppliers/installers

Green and co have been very helpful from the start. They even advised us to wait until after the election to receive the full battery rebate that then became available.
The installation was done in one day and is neat and professional and the electrician even removed all of the packaging and detritus from the scene. The electrician went through the commissioning and set up of the app with me and was very helpful.

Really good service

Had a second battery fitted. Installer on time, freindly, his off sider introduced him self and installation was a breeze.

Joe who did the install showed me modifcations to fuse box due to RCD needing replacing for compliance. Showed me the changes in the app.

The fit in finish of the install was first rate. He also praised the previous install as first rate as well. Backing Green for using quality installers.

Fantastic

I recently had a solar system with battery installed by Green.com.au, and I couldn’t be happier with the experience. The team was extremely professional and accommodating, even handling my request to install the battery on the opposite side of the house from the meter board at no extra cost.
The entire installation was completed within just 6 hours, and the team left the site spotless—no mess at all. All hardware was delivered two days in advance, and the installers walked me through the process beforehand, taking the time to understand any specific requests or concerns.
From the initial sign-up, everything was smooth and straightforward. The sales agent explained all available options clearly and recommended the right system size for my needs. It made the whole decision process easy and stress-free.
It’s been about a week since the installation (despite cloudy and rainy weather), and I haven’t needed to draw any power from the grid—very impressive performance!
A special mention to Lauren from the Customer Service team, who was incredibly helpful throughout.
Overall, I’m very happy with the service and would highly recommend Green.com.au.

Green was great and so was the installation process and communication.

Quoting was good, negotiated well based on three quotes
Customer service was good and responded to emails and when I needed to reschedule, it was an easy email and rebook.
The installer was professional and completed the job on time as discussed. Took all the waste away and ran through the battery and switch board thoroughly.

Great product and service

Katie Young was the sale rep we used. She made the whole process smooth and easy. There was no pressure just great communication and all questions were answered without delay. Katie knows the product inside and out, and is a pleasure to work with and we couldn’t be happier with the help she provided. The installer gave us notice a week before he arrived. Elliot arrived on time and carried out a smooth and professional install, delivering easy to understand instructions and couldn’t be happier with the outcome. Everybody did their job well and made the entire process stress free. Their passion for solar really stood out.

Great installation

The quote was detailed and competitive.
The Installation was efficient and left no mess. Tidy job.
Customer service was complete with everything organised and demonstrated after completion.

From time of purchase there was a long wait due to lack of batteries caused by excess demand.
Worth the wait.

Stress Free Installation

This was my first time adding solar batteries to my home and I have to say that the process was super easy and stress free. The sale rep Sean was very helpful and had all the answer to my queries.
The install took 1/2 a day was very clean and professional.
Would definitely use them again in the future. Highly recommend !

Friendly people and good value for money

Green was easy to work with and explained everything clearly. The quote was quick and very good pricing. The day of the installation went very smoothly and their installer was very helpful, friendly and left the site in a clean state.

Hassle free install - running well

All in all, a pleasant process. Patient sales rep as I ran around doing my homework on solar & battery systems. Requotes done without frustration.
Long wait from deposit payment to install, but that's an availability issue because the rebates caused massive oversubscription.
Contact maintained by Green to keep me updated.
Install was on time and hassle free. Installers cleaned up their mess, everything progressed in a straightforward manner.

Lowest price tender, but top quality

The quotation from green.com.au was the first received and three later quotations by other contractors were all higher. They installed the system in one day on the day scheduled. They removed all rubbish, even vacuumed the dust from drilling. Received the site specific user manual the next day. They organised the VPP with the retailer. The installation of crew of 5 or 6 men were courteous and knowledgeable about their work.

Happy with installation

Sales & quoting process was efficient. Team were always helpful & polite.
Installation was satisfactory. The Team were delayed due to weather. They worked efficiently, were polite & left the site after installation tidy.
They helped with grid connection which was slow as the NBN router had been knocked out, unsure why, awaiting tech visit to assess reason for this outage. It has affected our internet which has been inconvenient as we run our business from this site.
They also showed us how to use the system.

Exactly what I required; adding 6.4KWh to my Battery Storage. Job well done!

It has been a pleasure to deal with the team at Green.com.au. from the initial communication with Kevin, Lauren and James, to the professional standard of the installer; Shahir, and finally the post installation communication by Samantha.

The installer, Shahir, was punctual, polite, tidy and made some adjustments to the original stack to accommodate the additional module, making sure everything was completed with integrity.

I have had a few weeks now to monitor the Battery Storage System with this additional module installed and can confidently say it more than meets my expectations.

Started off with our first call

Started off with our first call.
Thomas answered and was very professional. He gave us all the info we needed with no up-selling. He understood exactly what we wanted. We checked the market and decided to go with Green.com.au.
Then William from service was also so professional with his responses in organising installation.
Our installers Stefan and Matt were also very professional and came on time and did a great job getting rid of our old gear and installing the new. Since installation Stefan has also been very helpful. This has been a most satisfying experience all round and can only recommend everyone uses Green.com.au.

Fuss Free and Friendly Installation

Finding out all I needed to know was so simple, friendly and jargon free. Everyone we dealt with from sales to installation and follow up have been so polite, friendly and really easy to work with. Jason kept us informed at all times and the installers were wonderful, friendly, polite and cleaned up every trace of packaging. We were so happy with them and they did an excellent job.

My husband loves the app to keep an eye on our system and it has become his favourite past time! He tells everyone how great the Solar Battery installation and function is.

We highly recommend Green.com.au for any questions and thoughts on solar panels and or batteries. For once we are looking forward to our next energy bill. Thank you.

Fantastic

Spoke to the boss himself to work out quote, very knowledgeable about the right system that i needed.
The installer turned up at the right time and new his stuff as well. Cleaned up site and his detail to make things right
was very pleasing.

High quality work and the most efficient crew I have ever met.

The sales process could be improved slightly, I feel there was not enough information given on the different options available. Quoting was done without a site visit which is amazing especially since the entire install process went so smoothly. Six guys rolled up at precisely the time quoted, and got stuck into removing the old solar panels, and installing the new panels and battery system. Given this is a two story house it was not an easy task. However it was all completed in half a day. Site was left spotless, workmanship is flawless and I could not recommend these guys highly enough.

Fast and seamless !

From sales, to acceptance of quote, to installation - seamless, fast, efficient! Tom(sales team) was so patient providing non-jargon simple to understand, not overselling, but customised solution that met my needs! He stepped me through the next steps and what to expect. As soon as i accepted the quote, green team was so efficient ie they know what they are doing countless times , the installation appointment booked and installation of battery completed - fast!. On the day of installation, boys were tidy, efficient,they tested the battery, etc. Thumbs up to the entire Green team!!! Wow! Very seamless handoffs. Always available to help answer queries and active followups.
A lot of confidence with Green on their battery install, now with panels to follow

Great upfront sales support, good installation, very poor post sales

I contacted multiple companies to get quotes for installation in quite a small area, the sales team at Green.com.au were fantastic at getting the right information, giving good advice and getting the installer to visit to help design the right solution that would fit in the small space available. (Other installers decided it was too hard, or didn't respond). Installation was great, really neat, professional and good communication. Unfortunately this was all let down by the after sales support for organising the clean up of the large boxes, after getting promised they would be handled, I ended up just doing it myself and taking it to the tip - very disappointing end to what was a great experience up until the after sales.

Very happy with Green and our installer

Chose Green from reading reviews on here and couldn't be happier with how it all went. We already had a decent sized solar system but wanted to add a battery. Sales/quoting process was simple and not overly pushy - spelt out options clearly and costs associated etc. Happy to let us pay deposit and lock in pricing and hold off for a few months on the install while we sorted out money before/after Christmas period. Once we were ready and reached out to them they scheduled the install promptly. Install day came and we had Simon and his crew complete the battery install which was a breeze. Worked with us on positioning of the batteries even though it meant a trickier install and they did an awesome job and left the place clean and tidy afterwards. Simon stuck around to talk us through the app and how it all worked etc.

Overall, we were really impressed with Green in all our dealings with them, and Simon and his crew for the work they did. Would definitely recommend them to anyone considering solar/batteries.

A good overall experience, apart from the installation which went well into the evening

Having been the victim of a “solar cowboy” around 10 years ago who sold me a poor-quality solar inverter which broke down time and time again, I was justifiably wary when researching for a solar battery to use with my existing panels. The Solar Quotes comparison website put me in touch with 3 companies, and I eventually chose Green.com.au because the salesperson (Callum) was able to satisfactorily answer all of my questions without being overly heavy-handed. I was genuinely surprised the installation went ahead only a few weeks after accepting the quote, as earlier estimations had forecast an installation date 6 weeks into the future. The installation commenced very late in the afternoon (past 3pm) because the installer said his morning installation did not go according to plan (sadly these things happen), but it was annoying how he finished around 7.15pm as I needed to go out that night. It raises the question of how late is too late for a tradesman to finish a job as you don’t want work to continue well into the night, and whether the job should have been postponed. I also had to figure out myself how to use the app, as they installer was unhelpful in explaining its features. The battery has been running for a few weeks now, and it seems to be working as expected. The follow up phone call from Green.com.au to confirm all was well was pleasing, but the real test will be whether they uphold the new solar retailer accountability laws, which hold them legally liable for the battery’s performance for its entire warranty period

Hard working and knowledgeable team. Clean and tidy install.

Sales process was informative, logical and intellectual. No pressure to upsell.
The installation is 90% complete. There was a shipping delay during the installation day and the team needed to come back a week later to finish the battery installation. Unfortunately I am still waiting for the bollards to be installed, wall patched from incorrect holes being drilled and warning signs hung. I have not heard from the installer since paying the bill in good faith, that the works would be finished. I hope they organise to finish the outstanding items soon.
The system however is working well, the app was easy to learn and use.
I am already seeing the benefits of the system.

Hassle free Solar Battery Installation

Fantastic Installer

The quoting process was very painless and they were very informative.
The installation went without a hitch, apart from being with Vodafone and requiring a patch sent to system to allow internet access

Punctual installers

Managed to get a little discount from the original price. Installers came early and get the job done quite easy. However some minor damages on the back of the brickwork when they drilled.
The installation was pretty done efficiently. Marcus explained the monitoring system and explained some other details.
Still observing the performance of the system as of now. So far so good.
