Painless Process
The overall experience with Green was very good. They were pretty focussed on selling the Alpha ESS 26kwh battery and 5kw inverter which I eventually went with. Would have been better to have some other options.The installation process went very smoothly with plenty of communication leading up to the install and a very professional install crew.

I have paid my deposit to Green.com.au and provided the requested site information, but have heard nothing from them for a month since sending the information to them via email...have I been scammed with Solarquotes assisting to facilitate the scammers?Battery rating: 1/5

Hoping for the best
Customer Review of My Solar Installation Experience (Green.com.au)I received several emails asking me to rate Green.com.au, but I waited until my system was fully installed and operational before giving feedback.
Sales & Pre?Installation
I ordered a 7.48?kW solar system with a 26.66?kWh battery in early October 2025. My sales consultant, Ryan Armstrong, was excellent. He clearly explained the installation process and even sent links showing how the panels would be mounted on my roof. I signed the quote and paid the $500 deposit.
Unfortunately, after that, communication dropped off. Nearly two months passed with very little contact from Green. I was eventually told the system would be installed by the end of December.
Scheduling & Changes
In late December, after asking whether I should cancel and go elsewhere, I was suddenly given a site visit date (6 Jan 2026) and installation date (8 Jan 2026). Green also informed me that the originally quoted 17 x 400?W panels were unavailable and offered 15 × 470?W panels instead. I accepted this change and signed the revised contract.
Installation Experience
The installation itself was the highlight of the entire process. Christian Gonzalez from Renewable Energy Group and his team did an excellent job. They were professional, informative, and answered all my questions.
Unfortunately, about six hours after installation, the inverter failed. Christian returned that evening, made the system safe, and followed up the next day. AlphESS attempted a remote software fix, which didn’t work, so Christian returned again and coordinated with AlphESS to determine that the inverter needed replacement. His responsiveness and professionalism were outstanding.
Billing Issues
During all of this, Green continued sending final invoices — three different versions, all with errors.
• The first invoice was based on the original quote (incorrect).
• The second had the correct price but incorrect STCs.
• The third was finally correct.
The accounts team needs better communication with sales and installation, as this caused unnecessary back?and?forth during an already stressful period.
System Performance So Far
The system has now been running for four days.
• I’ve earned about $2.77 in feed?in tariff.
• My grid consumption has noticeably dropped.
• Green has now been paid.
I’m looking forward to seeing my next power bill to understand the real world impact.

Exceptional installer
Our installer was a fellow called Joshua from Salisbury, which is quite some distance from our home. Despite this, Joshua arrived by 9am and simply got on with the job of installing the battery, we already have solar panels. It was a very hot day but Joshua worked fastidiously despite the heat, staying good natured! The finished job looks very good.When the installation was completed Joshua was happy to answer all our questions and explained very clearly how to get the best from the battery, giving us a good understanding of all the information the battery offers.
There is one improvement I would like to mention. While we had excellent communication with the support team in Sydney, letting us know when to expect the installer to arrive. I have to admit I was dubious, half expecting no one would show up. I would have liked to have had a call beforehand from the installer himself, confirming the instillation date. Somehow that would have reassured me.
But all in all, VERY happy!

Good but delayed
Dealing with Green was easy throughout the whole process. Communication was excellent and the staff informative and helpful. Installation was also first rate, the installer arriving on time, working neatly and cleaning up afterwards. My only concern is that the process was quite drawn out due to delays in battery delivery. New, larger, battery and inverter connected to my old PV panels.
I live in a rural area without much choice of installer. Green was not a local company, but their quote was professional and competitive, and their communication was good. They turned up on the day as planned and finished the install quickly. They made sure my system was connected to the manufacturers app and was working well before they left.Battery rating: 5/5

Good Endorsements Pay Dividends.
I was contacted by Ryan from Green.com.au and could not have been more impressed with his consultative method of sales and quoting which ultimately resulted with me signing up with Green.com.auThe contractors involved with my installation could not be faulted in all aspects and they should personally receive every pat on the back that they get and they explained the finer points of the operation of the system to me in laymans terms.
Post a minor hiccup of the installation, Ryan and the customer service team came up trumps in the end.

Green Provided False Information During Sales Process
During the sales process, a representative of Green, made representations that the system would allow the battery to charge at 10kw speed, taking advantage of both the new solar panel installation and the existing one. This was confirmed in writing on 17/06/2025. Upon later inspection and confirmation from Green, it was revealed that the information provided was false, and the battery system could only charge at a maximum of 5kw.When contacted, Green repeatedly did not provide a resolution. Despite the original issue being raised 18 days ago from the writing of this review, Green has not contacted me with a plan to resolve the issue. They have also not replied to my latest email sent 3 days ago or the last phone call a week ago. This behaviour is unacceptable.

Great sales pitch, pity about the service level and delayed installation
Green play a good game in the sales pitch with helpful salespeople who do their best to explains things. But it goes downhill from there. Initially ordering in October I was told install would be 4 to maybe 8 weeks due to demand for battery installs. During the sales and ordering process, I tried to ensure that the panels were placed on the 2nd story roof but was told a couple of panels would need to go on the 1st floor roof. I also wanted the batteries in my garage and was assured this was possible after providing multiple photos of the inside of my garage. I also requested whole house backup on the switchboard and was assured, yes, this could be done.So, from here on in everything went downhill. At one point I was advised that installation would not be possible before February 2026. I made a lot of noise about this and eventually got a date in early January. Installer had a breakdown and couldn't make it on the day. Rebooked for the following Wednesday. On Monday was called to say there might have been some miscommunication, and the installer has it for Tuesday. Fine, just another issue with the service, but ok. Tuesday arrives and the installers arrive early. Inspect the location and tell me that almost half the system would need to go on the lower roof and the batteries could not be placed in the garage. Only 8 of 15 panels could be placed on the upper roof, leaving 7 to go on the lower roof. How did they not recognise this in the design phase? Took Green nearly 2 hours to respond to the installers phone calls. In fact, it was only after I phoned to give them a blast that they called the installers. After several calls, it was agreed to go ahead with the revised configuration of the install.
Later in the day, when starting the wiring for the backup circuits I explained I wanted whole house and installer was adamant that I could only have 2 circuits or 21 Amps covered. Whole house at 64 Amps would not pass inspection.
Given the delayed start to the day, the installers finished up and said they would come back the next day to install the required shade covers over the batteries and inverter. It's 8 days later and I have finally had contact from Green after 3 emails demanding completion of the installation. They are currently "getting back to me" on that.
Green was, however, quick to issue an invoice for the entire job. I have informed them several times that I will not be paying anything until I have a fully, to my satisfaction, completed job. I have also advised that I will be deducting a daily inconvenience fee from their bill.
The biggest red flag - in hindsight - is the over the phone quoting using whatever satellite imagery they have and photos provided by me. If you are getting a system quoted, steer clear of any company that will not come out and do a physical inspection of the property. They will tell you that's not always needed - but in my case they can't explain how they got it so wrong without one and still won't admit that they should have, in my case, done so.
Given the huge demand for batteries late last year, Green should have either stopped accepting new jobs or made very clear that it would be 3-4 months, not 4-8 weeks from acceptance to installation.
Green customer service could do with having some experts come in to evaluate their performance and provide a roadmap to bring it up to an acceptable level. Currently I would rate it as poor.
So, it's the middle of summer, I had an old system removed and now have a new system sitting idle waiting for completion and further waiting for an inspection to sign it off before I can start getting the benefits of it.
This entire exercise has been a series of disappointments.
Would I recommend Green? in a word, no.

Outstanding service from start to finish
From the start with Tom being the first and in fact only provider to make contact after numerous enquires he was more than helpful suggesting that we only needed a 13.3 kWh battery after looking at our electricity bill.I was more looking at a 20kwh system unfortunately with AlphaEss they don’t have one so we went with two 13.3 as the cost to upgrade with the government rebate was a no brainer. I signed the contract on the 7/1 with the understanding that there was a 6 week wait on installation. However on the 12/1 was advised that they had had a cancellation for the 13/1 in my area and were able to do the installation. I received a call on the morning of the installation to say the batteries I was supposed to get were out of stock however Green were going to upgrade them to two 15kwh latest models at no extra charge instead of cancelling the install until the original batteries were back in stock which I thought was outstanding customer service.
Indra and his offsider were very polite and worked tirelessly all day and did a terrific job cleaned up and took all the rubbish away, had to do a partial upgrade on the switchboard which did cost more but was made aware prior to the install day.
All the people at green including Tom, Dan ,Will and Julia have been very helpful and made sure everything was as my expectation could not fault the company.
Battery was commissioned on the 16/1 and at present working perfectly, I will edit this post after a few months once I have a few bills to compare.
By the way I have a 6.4 kw solar system which is 3 years old Trina panels and Goodwe 5.4 inverter
On the day of commission batteries came at 40% charged turned on at 2pm by the time the batteries started to discharge around 8 pm the batteries were at 88% , only discharged 6% overnight so should be fully charged by 11 am then feeding back into the grid.

Be careful what you are getting installed!
I am writing this review because they asked me to, I will be as honest as I can be.Back in August Green.com.au gave me a quotation to install a battery system. I chose them because they only asked for a modest upfront deposit until the system was installed. Every other company demanded full payment when the installation was booked. So I expected they were a genuine company. They told me they couldn't install before October and I accepted that and paid the deposit.
October came and went without any contact. I contacted them and they said sorry we have been busy and we can maybe do it in December.
They told me they had the equipment.
I contacted them again in December and they told me that it would maybe have to Janurary. They called me back and said they could install it in the second week of Janurary.
The subcontractor installer contacted me, asked a few questions. The sub contractor carrier delivered the equipment 2 days before the installation date. The installer arrived when he said he would and completed the installation. Unfortunately when he was comissioning it he in consultation with the equipment supplier determined a system component was faulty. The installer provided my details the the equipment supplier AlphaESS and said it would be one to two weeks before they could come out.
Now more than a week later nobody has contacted me from either Green.com.au or AlphaESS about when they intend to come out. I have called Green.com.au four times and each time they say thet will get back to me and they don't. They have however sent me the invoice to pay, I emailed them back saying I will pay it when they deliver a working system. I have also emailed and have yet to get a reply. I also got and email to write a review, which I am guessing they won't like but it is how it is. Whilst I acknowledge the equipment fault is not really their issue they are responsible to deliver a working system.
Throughout the whole process outward their communication is lacking. It really doesn't take that long to pick up the phone. They do however answer the phone when you call them.
Hopefully the installation will be sorted out before the debt collectors start nagging me.
UPDATE: I called again this morning and still don't have a response. Nobody call me back again. I also called AlphaESS and they informed me that the inverter that was installed at my place had previous been installed in Jan 2025 at another property and had been replaced under warranty. So it gets worse. AlphaESS was also going to call me back before the end of the day and didn't. There seems to be a dispute between Green.com.au and AlphaESS about what happened and which company is replacing the 2nd hand faulty inverted installed at my place. I have made many calls, all initiated by me. I've made the comment that they should be thinking about compensating me for the lack of communication and poor service. They shouldn't be supplying or installing 2nd hand equipment when it is supposed to be new. That really is inexcuseable. Especially when it is known to be previously be faulty. I am not sure the batteries are new either. It could be a complete 2nd hand system they have dumped on me, who knows. Maybe they will communicate with me tomorrow, maybe not. Time will tell. I am now losing faith in both companies.

Alpha.ESS Smile 5 Battery Supply and Installation
Couple of years ago the guys from Green.com.au fitted my panels and SMA inverter and I was thoroughly happy with the job and customer service provided start to finish..so I had no hesitation when it came time to purchase my battery finally.After some discussions with Dustin I took his advice and went ahead and purchased a Alpha.ESS Smile 5 Battery Supply and Installation.
Could not be happier with the customer service provided by the likes of Emma and Will just to name a few.. good updates on progress through to installation and onto payment.
Like to also thank my installer Bailey and his offsider Mary from Poweron Electrical Pty Ltd for the very professional job as well as being friendly polite and cleaned up when finished..

Highly Recommended
The process of getting a quote to final installation was great. The customer service team was always prompt in returning calls and always had the information I needed. The installation was quick and painless. The team were on time and left everything as tidy as they found it. The post installation session was informative and he didn't leave until I was clear on the switch off instructions and the app was up and running. As it turned out we had a blackout 30 min after the system was connected so we were able to see how that worked as well. All up I would highly recommend Green to anyone looking to install solar panels and supporting battery system.Supplier Reply:

A happy customer
The customer service that I spoke to was very responsive, their quoting process are streamlined, once I’m happy with the quote they also provide updates regarding next steps.The installation went smoothly, everything was done in half a day, very polite and professional.
10 months later we asked Rey: "Are you happy with the performance of your system so far?"
Yes, the system has performed as expected. There’s been no issues so far and my electricity bill has decreased around 50%05 January 2026
Still waiting
Paid a deposit on the 27 th November then after that really no communication had to email them on the 8 th December and ask what is happening ,there reply was not helpful at all and still waiting for any further response so at this stage thinking I’ve been scammed .Supplier Reply:

Very happy

A well integrated sales, installation, and performing solar battery program
Green.com.au did an excellent job of explaining the battery options available to us, how each would interact with the existing solar system, the installation process, and the rebate program.The installers arrived when they said they would, explained what they would be doing, were courteous and professional when asked how things were going, and demonstrated the system’s operation when they completed the installation.
The inspection a week or so later was without fault and they system has been operating without problems during the month between installation and writing this review.

Painless purchase and excellent installation
I used Green for a battery addition to my existing 6.6kW solar system. Green recommended a suitably sized battery and completed all of the necessary paperwork with SAPN (South Australia). A painless experience for myself with Green keeping me informed throughout the process.Following the successful installation of an Alpha ESS battery to my home, I wish to acknowledge the work of Centrifuse Energy, Green's contractor.
The installer was prompt, efficient, knowledgeable and willing to share his knowledge with me, a retired electrical/electronics technician with many questions. I was impressed with his neatness and attention to detail including use of a spirit level on short ducting runs. Even working alone, the installation was completed in less than a day due to his familiarity with both the product and his electrical expertise.
Green is also to be commended for using contractors such as Centrifuse Energy.
Many thanks and I can see the benefits to lowering my power costs significantly, even after only 10 days.

Sales service was fantastic but post install service not so much
I went with Green after they gave me the best customer service and a very competitive quote for a 26.6kWh AlphaESS Smile5 battery to be installed on a per-exisiting 4.6kWh solar panel system.From the initial contact with Basil from sales early August 2025 all the way till it was handed over to service, I had nothing but fantastic customer service from Basil albeit a couple of things were not mentioned to me till it was handed over to service. But I have to say, any time I called, my call was answered within a few seconds by Basil or another sales staff.
Once my order was taken over by service, this is where the service and communication started going a bit south. Phone calls started going unanswered and had to leave a message or send an email for a call-back etc. One issue not mentioned from sales was of extra costs beyond the quote that could be charged if the distance between the switchboard and battery location is more than 15m that service made me aware of. This was also not in the terms in my contract. But Basil called me back and sincerely apologised for his oversight and assured me that they will wear the extra costs if there were any and gave that assurance in writing, which I highly appreciated. Due to that there was no need for a site inspection. Service also mentioned that because I'm in Victoria, an inspection must be performed by a government body post-install and I can't use it till that happens. This could take anywhere between a few days to at least 3 weeks. This was something else sales didn't mention but I was OK with that as I had already waited a few months so a few more weeks wasn't going to hurt.
Roughly around 2 months later mid October, I got a phone call from service with a booking offer but I missed the call. It was followed up by an email which I responded by calling them. Took me several calls trying to call back the caller but ended up speaking with someone else. I accepted the booking offer for mid November install and they also confirmed it was an afternoon booking.
On the day of the install, the installers arrived in the morning at 9am even though it was booked as an afternoon job. A bit annoying but no big deal, lucky I was home in the morning. After asking the lead installer why they came earlier than the booked time, he told me it was a morning booking. Another miss-communication? But they were here so I was happy about that. The installers were great, they asked me everything before they proceeded with anything and they did a clean job and cleaned up after themselves. It was a typical Melbourne day with 4 seasons in a day and at one stage it rained so heavy they had to get off the roof and take shelter in my carport. They eventually finished around 1pm, testing the batteries, connecting it to my wifi and then shutting it down for the inspector to come. I did ask the installer if they can show me how to use the app but he told me to contact Green and they'll help me. Which I'm still waiting (see below). They did however tell me they couldn't take the battery packaging because they had no facility or room to take with them. So I'm still stuck with 3 big boxes that I either have to organise a hard rubbish booking or chop them up in pieces to put in my recycle bin, which will take awhile.
As it was close to Christmas I wasn't confident that the inspector was going to come this year as I was told by the installer that they were all busy this time of the year. But about 2 and half weeks later I got a text message at 10pm advising me the installer will be in my area the next day between 1pm and 4pm and to text YES if OK to book. Of course I texted YES asap, but half an hour later, they sent another message to say the day and time has changed to the day after for the morning this time between 9am and 12pm...lucky I was home those days. Inspector came around 9.30am, checked the switchboard, batteries and wiring etc. Took him about 20 minutes all up, switched it on and then went on his merry way. He emailed me the safety certificate half an hour later. All was good and I finally got to use the batteries.
All up a fairly good experience with Green, albeit a few hiccups with their service department that Green might do well to address. Especially for their customers that are in different states other than NSW, where Green is based. I did have to call Green up for them to send post-install product documents, manuals etc, which they were supposed to send and they hadn't. In my contract they upgraded me to a 10 year warranty on the inverter, it's usually 5 years and they were supposed to send that warranty certificate to me post-install as well but they haven't. I had to call several times before I got through but had to go through their sales channel to get answered. They took my info to pass onto service which I am still waiting for them to call me back as I write this review. I also haven't been given any information on how to use the AlphaESS mobile app. I have it installed and setup an account but some of the terminology in the app is beyond me and I also asked Green to help me with that, which I was assured by sales they would do.
Overall Green is great with their customer service by their sales department, but their service department needs some improvement IMO. I am looking at adding more panels to my existing system down the road to take it up to at least 10kWh but will I go with Green? I'm not sure to TBH. I think I might try someone local in Melbourne that has Melbourne knowledge next time. Biggest issue for me is getting through to customer service when you need it, especially if the system fails and you need them to look into it asap. Only time will tell if their after-sales service is as good as their sales service. Most companies know how to attract new customers but they fail at retaining them.
The post-install inspection in Victoria is another frustrating thing which I understand Green has no control over and I am not criticizing them for. There is no way to contact the department and you just have to wait till they contact you, which is usually the night before they book you in and they also deal with you entirely via text messaging. So it's hard to organize to be home in advance, especially if you work and then they change the day and time on you as well. Victorian government seriously needs to improve that service, especially the customer service side.

Solar array and battery system is ordered for delivery late January 2026. Two companies stood out, neck and neck for price/quality/service promise
Sales process was good, and met my expectations for understanding my preferences. I chose Green Solar, in part based on Solar Quotes review - particularly on their installation record. I would also have been comfortable with the company (not on Solar Quotes) my neighbour used for their solar array. The two companies were neck and neck on price for equivalent solar/battery systems and equally keen for the business. A quality solar system was installed. Everything was professionally done and the installer worked all day nonstop to finish the job on time. I can’t praise that guy enough for his effort on the day. It's all about the service (this mob is great)
Sales process: I work in sales. I would say this was excellent. Not too pushy. I got informed and they responded to a close option.Installation: Honestly this was amazing. A couple checks. One hiccup when the installers arrived but the battery did not. The installer was really good. Hard working. Polite. Informed.
Victorian cert: Took longer than I'd like and got told. 30 days for 15 mins work. Made me confidant.
Service/Support: Frankly this is why I chose green.com.au... Every interaction has made me confident of my choice. A quality business.

They delivered what they offered
Green.com.au were very quick to respond to the request for quotation. I didn't want the installation until after I returned from a holiday and they were happy with that. Once I got back things progressed rapidly and the installation was performed with a local electrician who did a good job and was quite obliging, then followed up the paper work so it was all signed off in 4 days. Delayed initially but great customer service during installation
I was initially worried as my first install date was cancelled on the day and I didn’t receive a new date for a couple of months. Every time I reached out there was a reply email the next day. The second install date was 2 mths after the first, this time they arrived on time and left the worksite clean and tidy. I was set up with my app and 24hrs later noticed the batteries stopped charging at 69%. Another email overnight and I received 2 phone calls and an email to help fix the problem. I had a query about the instructions and rang Green. Immediate customer service, very helpful, easy fix, no need to get installers back. Happily watching my batteries fill from my solar to use when the sun goes down.Supplier Reply:

Hassle Free
The guys (and gals) at Green are top notch. After being referred onto them by the one and only John Cadogan, the guys at Green took over the design & installation of the solar system & battery, as well as taking care of the carbon credits and associated paperwork. They provide top quality REC panels from Norway and Tesla Powerwall for storage. They were so good and easy to deal with, that I had a second Powerwall battery added by them recently. Success has meant they’ve dropped the ball
Iinstallation and communication problems, including discrepancies between what sales promised (location of the batteries, I checked three times that it was ok) signed ($19,000!!) proposal, paid deposit and customer service said NO to sales confirmed location.Delays and miscommunication confirmation on revised location, following many calls and emails. Still outstanding.
Now 7 weeks post signed proposal and no battery location confirmation or install date in sight.
They’re now not answering calls.

Brilliant delivery service, from oder to final installation
With so many providers seeking customers, I found Green to be very easy to deal with. Their pricing was lower than expected and the hardware is of very good quality (also Google reviewed).The installation was down in two stages as we were building a new home and the panels were installed without distracting the builder. The batteries and inverter were delayed due to supply shortages but regular contact was maintained and was installed at a time already planned.
Connection to the grid and after installation support was appreciated.

Fantastic price and installation
Right from the start I was impressed with Green.com.au sales team. Friendly, informative, and most importantly didn't say anything negative about other quotes we had received ( all other companies I called seemed to think this was the way to get our business...no thanks)We did have a bit of a glitch with installation date being organized and communicated but eventually got sorted out.
The actual installation was flawless and professional and we only wish we had it installed earlier. The app is very easy to use too.
So far very happy ( also had a blackout 2 days after installation and all worked perfectly that we needed)

Alpha Ess Smile 5 system....Couldn't be happier
We all know this process is daunting, with a limitless supply of options available.Almost none of us are experts in the field, as such we somewhat rely on advice and gut during the buying process.
After my crash course on loads, phases, yields and battery types, i settled on Alpha Ess thru Green.com.au.
My average daily usage hovers around 24kwh, and i already had a 10kw PV array with 3 phase inverter.
I looked at an extended list of options in the 20-30kwh battery size, with both single and three phase hybrid inverters.
I received quotes from around $5k thru to $15k, and settles with Alpha Ess somewhere in the middle.
After an approx 8 weeks wait install occurred.
I was given a heads up, and the boys arrived on time, and completed in about 5.5 hours.
I was apprehensive about the systems space and encroachment on parking, however i was greeted with
an incredibly neat and slim profile set up, even with the mandatory bollards in place.
This allows me to retain use of my double garage without issue.
I have been accustomed to the Fronius app and smart meter, but am glad to say that the Alpha Ess app and its use is simple and intuitive.
It includes full cost basis data, load, output, SOC etc........im a big fan.
All up, couldn't be happier, given the potential pitfalls and perils with such a purchase.
The Green.com.au team were easy to deal with, and offer a wide selection of kit, if Chinese Batteries are 'not your schtick'.
I would be happy to recommend them and Alpha Ess to anyone looking for a mid tier system at a good price and service to match!
