Top Rated Brisbane Solar Installers 2023

top rated solar installers in Brisbane 2023

Following up on our “Top Rated Solar Installers 2023” lists for major Australian cities, this article showcases the best solar installers in Brisbane based on the ratings from SolarQuotes reviewers over the last three years. And to give a well-rounded view, we’ve also included ratings from Google and Facebook towards the end of this article.

How We Compiled The Results

We determined the latest survey results by considering Brisbane companies with at least 15 reviews1 over the past 3 years and identified the top 5 solar installers with the highest average scores. The results include customer reviews of all solar companies, not exclusively those in the SolarQuotes network.

It should be noted there is no agreed way to rank companies by review scores. It is easier to get a high average score with fewer reviews. You’ll likely get a different list if you change the criteria above. You can, and should, do your own slicing and dicing of Brisbane solar installers here to find professionals based on the criteria you find important – such as longevity, brands sold, location and reviews.

Top 5 Brisbane Solar Installers

Ahlec Pty Ltd
Average rating of 5 from 15 reviews. (Interestingly – Ahlec is predominantly a Sunshine Coast installer but scraped in with 15 reviews in northern Brisbane)

Sunlogics
Average rating of 4.99 from 36 reviews.

Global Solar Solutions
Average rating of 4.99 from 31 reviews.

Dillon and Kenzie Electrical Co
Average rating of 4.99 from 65 reviews.

EISS Pty Ltd
Average rating of 4.98 from 116 reviews.

What Separates The Wheat From The Chaff?

A good Brisbane solar installer has the whole package, and according to the reviewers these top 5 deliver on everything that counts – customer service, good communication, professionalism, system design expertise, high-quality work, and the best products to suit a customer’s goals.

Reviews

When reviewers submit feedback, they’re asked to provide details of their solar installation and give ratings on a scale of 1 to 5 stars for the following categories: value for money, quality of system, installation, and customer service. Here are some customer reviews that influenced the top 5 results.

Ahlec Pty Ltd review by Andrew:

“Professional service from first contact with Austin, all the way through to installation and after the sale. Could not fault the team. I must have sought around 8 quotes and most came back with variations of the same system but it was the communication and superior service that set Ahlec apart. Unbeatable price, installation, and service. Love the addition of the Catch Power relay too, and so did my neighbour who had one installed on the same day as mine after I told him about it!”

Sunlogics review by Akash:

“Was great to deal with from the sales teams right through to the installers. The sales team was transparent, and honest and provided great advice without being aggressive. Communication was great. The install team was very professional, giving plenty of notice prior to arriving on-site, and took care of their work. Even followed up after the install to help with the setup of the app and any questions we had regarding the system.”

Global Solar Solutions review by Wayne:

“For me, value is a measure of quality, price, level of service, and ease of doing business. Ryan’s team at Global Solar Solutions measures up in every way. We had them install our solar 2 years ago and did not hesitate to call Ryan again for our home battery installation. They only offer the best quality equipment that has Aussie-based support should I need it in the future. This gives me confidence and builds trust. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking to find a great solar business amongst a plethora of shonkies.”

Dillon and Kenzie Electrical Co review by David:

“From the initial call, Scott and his team provided great advice and prompt responses to our queries. Most of the panels are installed on a Solarspan roof which required special brackets to be installed and makes the job more complicated. The quote was fully explained to us and any concerns raised were respectfully dealt with. When the installation team arrived on site they identified some improvements and set about getting approval and installing them. Overall it was a very satisfying and trouble-free experience dealing with Scott and his team.”

EISS Pty Ltd review by Lawrence:

“EISS team were fantastic to deal with. I had a quote within 8 hours of enquiring and it was by far the best value for money! The team that came out was efficient in the installation and even got the job done with rain hanging around! Most would pack up but these guys were positive and powered through and now I’m reaping the rewards! Most of all they were polite and courteous even with my kids running around! Will definitely be recommending and using them again!”

Comments From Top 5 Brisbane Solar Installers

Dillon and Kenzie Electrical Co is one of the companies that made the Brisbane top 5. I posed this question to one of the partners, Scott, while he was mid-job, dangling off a roof – “Your blurb on the SolarQuotes review page says that you’ve had a gutful of shady solar operators. What do you actively do to prove that you’re not one of them?”

“We just install quality gear. We use things like Cobalt deck tights to make sure we don’t get roof leaks. We use Radiant rail and make sure that there are no cracked tiles and things like that. We take our time on the job, there are no cutting corners. That way there are fewer come-backs and roof leaks.

There are a lot of low-budget installers out there buying jobs off low-rated companies, that have no time to do the jobs, and so are cutting corners. Quality installation is what we’re all about. We take our time on every job and make sure it’s done correctly. We don’t leave a job until the customer is 100% satisfied.”

Ahlec Pty Ltd was also one of the top 5 Brisbane companies. I spoke to Sam, one of the members of this family-run business.

“Customer service is key. Whatever the circumstances, the customer is always right. We’re a smaller outfit with a couple of crews going as well as admin staff and sales in the office. We do off-grid as well as on-grid, both domestic and commercial projects.

We’ve been doing solar for around 14 years and dove into off-grid about 10 years ago. Technology has come a long way in that time. That definitely helps to give the customer more options, more reliability, and better bang for the buck.”

Bottom Rated Brisbane Solar Installers

It goes without saying that we don’t like solar cowboys, but I’ll say it anyway. We don’t like solar cowboys.

I encourage those new to rooftop solar to check our installer reviews database. Feel free to type in the name of any company you’re considering as an installer and see what pops up. If the ratings are close to the top 5 in this article, I think you’re onto a good thing.

How To Use Our Reviews To Compare Yourself

Here’s a good way to compare Brisbane solar companies based on how many stars they have:

    1. If the installer has scored one, two, or three stars, read them. Nobody is perfect, so sometimes things go wrong. What matters is if and how they make things right.links indicating low-rated installer reviews

More Comparison

And for balance, here are the top 5 Brisbane solar companies again, along with their ratings from SolarQuotes, Google, and Facebook. Keep in mind that SolarQuotes only considered reviews from the past three years for this exercise, while Google and Facebook show ratings from all time.

Furthermore, SolarQuotes requests that reviewers give ratings in four categories – Value for Money, Quality of System, Installation, and Customer Service – and then calculates an average. On the other hand, Facebook and Google only require a straightforward 5-star rating from reviewers.

Great stuff, if only there was more reliable information available for service industries it would make it much better for consumers and good service providers alike.

  2. Interesting to see there is no Springers or MC electrical in this list

  3. LeroyBrown says

Thanks to Solar Quotes, I used Ahlec for a 5kW solar install a few years ago and just had a Catch solar relay to run the resistive hot water off surplus solar. They have always been very generous with their advice, ongoing support and provide quality workmanship. It’s awesome having a local installer you can trust to provide solutions that reduce power bills / CO2 emissions.

  5. Interesting that Auswell Energy miss this list…. Is it because they are Gold Coast Based? Plenty of Brisbane and SE QLD Installations…
