Accommodating, Clean Install and Professional Staff throughout the process!

I found out about Sungold solar through referrals of friends who had a battery system installed by them as well which added to the reputation.

Be very careful about installers who try to point you mainly use ProductReviews-based stats as those are generic and obviously most of the time work well in their favour. Whereas if you look at more focused groups/forums like Solar Quotes the difference in opinions and feedback is amplified in favour of Sungold. Happy that I did my research and found this page as it definitely helped my decision to proceed with Anis and his team.

The presales process is very straight forward with Anis requesting for a video of the possible install locations, a quote was provided subject to installer visit and actual install work. No further charges were flagged. Anis was not pushy and he was very responsive.

The installer who came to install and commission the system was meticulous and gave a lot of thought and pride into the cleanliness and quality of their install. They didn't mind me chatting to them from time to time as they went about their work to help me understand how the cabling and battery system works. They also shared experiences with other installs which helped guide their decisions for my home and ensured compliance with the AS/NZS 5139:2019 (battery safety), AS/NZS 3000 (wiring rules), and AS/NZS 4777.1 standards.

They took a lot of care not to damage my property, ensure cable raceways and conduits were neatly installed including the removal of any rubbish as part of their work. They were very pleasant and were happy to walk me through the various switches and levers for operating the Fox ESS System. They even took time to show me the wiring behind the main switchboard as I was curious how they all linked together, including the EPS backup circuits.

Honestly, this was a very pleasant experience and I've recommended them to my friends and colleagues who were considering installing a battery system.

I didn't sign up for VPP as that was not our use case for installing a battery system and the cost-avoidance with energy spend is evident from the day the battery had ample charge to power my house.

If I had to install more batteries or an expansion to the current system if my needs grow, I would contact Anis and his team again.

Solar panels and battery installation

I am very impressed with the service from this solar installation team. we signed our contract in February, and the installation was completed on April 2. Mohammed and his crew did an outstanding job throughout the entire process.
Not only did they handle the new installation, but they also expertly removed our old panels that were installed years ago.
Mohammed worked incredibly hard, staying late into the evening to ensure the job was finished to a high standard.
Highly recommended for their hard work and professionalism!

Still waiting

The sales/quoting process was good, very helpful in assessing different options. However the installation/customer service process was a different story. It has been 5 weeks since the company rang to say the battery would be installed tomorrow, the battery arrived but no install. I have contacted them on numerous occasions only to be told they would be there next week to do the install and/or they will call me back to let me know a install date. Needless to say I haven't seen them and they have not rung back with a date.
I understand that the company is likely to be busy with the 1 May date approaching, but this is getting beyond a joke.

The rating on the quality of the system is due to it not being installed so I don't know for sure.

Really sorry for the delay. You received the gears and we are supposed to execute your job immediately but the installer was injured half way through of the schedule. There were 10 jobs in Bathurst and Orange area. that’s why we had to call back the team in Sydney. Our team will be in Bathurst and orange area from 8 April to 15 April. So, coming Tuesday we would be able to give you the exact date for you. Our apologies for the unexpected delay .

An efficient high quality installation that met my expectations.

The sales person was polite, respectful and came to my house to review the site conditions. This help immensely with the installation team.
The installation team was polite, efficient, very hard working and got the job done within a day. This was a huge task. The lead electrician, Ken, gave good advise on system operation and demonstrated some key functions. I'm very happy overall.

Very happy with my new battery and solar set up every thing works great 40kw Goodwe battery and 16kw of solar 10 kw inverter no power bills in the last week of running this system

One day late on delivery of the system but was still installed the next day and very happy with the Quality of the installation done. And was contacted the next day to help set up the inverter app and that was on a Sunday and made sure that everything was running smoothly.

Big concern with after sales

Got the system installed late Nov 2025, try to contact the after sales support team to raise an issue, emailed them, called them (virtual receptionist) after 1 week, didn’t hear a thing.

Sungold Solar plus Battery Sustem

Cannot fault the service from start to finish was exceptional. Quotation was onsite with phone calls returned, communication was excellent. Installation on the day was also excellent a mention to my installers whom paid attention to the quality of work performed. After sales follow up and queries answered. Invoice followed after that with an electronic transfer. Now enjoying free electricity??

Currently frustrated

A company representative visited our site on 5 August. He was very helpful and answered questions. I indicated our purposes for installing the system (a battery and additional panels), namely, to increase our reliance on renewable energy sources and to continue to have a power supply during power outages. I signed the contract on 5 August 2025. At that time, I was told the installation would be done in three to four weeks.
I phoned on August 27 to see how things were going. I was told there was a delay because of a shortage in the supply of batteries.
I received a call on September 23 while on holidays. They wanted to install on 26 September. I indicated there would be no one at our site on that day.
I phoned when I returned from holidays (Thursday, October 2) and the installation of the battery was arranged for the next day. I was told there would be no trouble with the panels and they would be installed the following week.

I received a call on October 3 to say the installer was delayed because of car trouble and he would turn up at 7:30am the next morning. As promised, he installed the battery on Saturday, October 4. He said others would come to install the panels the following week.

No one called to arrange a date for the panels, so I texted on Tuesday, October 7. There was no response, so I phoned the next day. I was told they would be installed the following week and that he would let me know what day by the end of the week. He did not do that.

I emailed on October 13 and received no reply. I phoned on October 14 and was told I would be informed of the installation date by the end of that day. That didn't happen. I emailed again on October 16.
The panels were finally installed on October 21. The panels installed were different from the original quote. I was told the panels we received were better.
The installer told us they had cracked a few roof tiles during the installation process. He assured us he had sealed the cracks.
We had a power outage on November 26. At this point, we discovered that the battery did not supply power to our house during power outages. The company representative told me that function was not part of the original quote. He said he asked about the frequency of power outages when he visited our site. I remember telling him that we had not had many power outages over the last few years.

However, the company representative did not tell me that because we don't have many outages he decided not to include that function in the quote. He said this could be rectified for an additional cost. I thought I had made clear to him during his initial meeting with me that one of our main purposes for installing the battery was to continue to have power when the grid had a power outage.

I asked if he could please arrange for this function ASAP. He said he should be able to arrange this for the following week. When that didn't happen, I again phoned. He told me he had people in our area the following week and it should be done then. When that didn't happen, I again phoned. He gave me the phone number for their installation manager. When I rang this, it went to voicemail. When I didn't get a return phone call by the next day, I tried again with the same result. I tried to phone the company representative again and the call went to voicemail. I have had no response to either calls or emails.
We are still waiting for this function to be installed.
We had a storm on December 13 and part of the ceiling in our garage collapsed because of the build-up of water in the roof. We were not home at the time. When I had a builder look at the roof, he indicated the problem was a broken ridge cap that could only have been broken by someone treading on it heavily, and some broken tiles and that the breaks were relatively fresh. The only people on that part of the roof in the last twelve months were the two people from Sungold who installed the tiles.
I indicated this in an email to the company representative and have had no response to that email.

Thus, we are dissatisfied for two reasons. First, we still don't have battery backup. This is especially significant during storm season, the time when we are most likely to have power outages. Second, we still have problems with the leaking roof in the garage.

Fantastic Installer

Reasonable

A lot of my complaints would be down to the large number of battery instals being undertaken due to the subsidies, but:
1. Six week delay
2. Installer not familiar with the combination of Sungrow batteries and Enphase panels. Couldn't get the system to communicate. Spent 13 hours on site on day one, had to get advice and come back to complete work.
3. Installed a different model battery than the one in the proposal - SBH25, rather than SBR25.6. More easily upgradable, but should have asked.

Mainly, though, like other recommended installers of batteries and panels, they don't ask questions. They assume you have read all of Solarquotes.com.au, understand it and know what you want and need. The Hybrid inverter is 5kW, which may be too small for my system, especially running the ducted heating in the winter. We'll see. There has already been one small spike of grid energy use, even though the battery was full.

It might be that the heating will run the battery down, anyway, so I don't know if it will affect my bills.

Value for money plan

The sales and quoting was efficient and easy but I did think that they may have been optimistic about the payback time. They were also prepared to amend the plans from the initial quote to increase the size of my system.
The installation was punctual and neat. The only possible issue was that I had no way of disposing of the panels, I was going to get another company to remove them later and store them temporarily in my garage but the installer was reluctant to do this - I am not sure why but did offer to find somebody to take them away immediately. I think this might be a sideline for him.
At the moment I am not putting power back into the grid but I am waiting for a new smart meter to be installed and will see if this makes any difference. We are at least using about 97% of our own electricity now.

Hugos review

The Sungold solar guys did a quick quote, very competitive. The did promise to install in November (within about 6 weeks from the quote) but ended up installing late December due to demand. The install was efficient, and so far no issues (1 month in).

FoxESS 42kwh battery, + 11kw panels + 10.5 kw inverter.

Based on the competitive price, I would recommend to others.

Exceeded all expectations

The whole experience, from start to end, was professional, cost-effective, and executed perfectly. As someone with next to no knowledge of solar systems, I found Sungold incredibly helpful and responsive. From agreement to proceed to installation was around a week. The result is better than expected, and heading into a hot summer, the savings are immediate.

Decent Value.

The sales/quoting process was very quick and multiple install variants were provided.
We selected the 12Kw system with a 19Kw capacity battery.

The panels and inverter were installed 2 weeks after deposit was made, they were awaiting restock of the battery provided in quote. Installer team were professional and did decent work. Majority of trade waste was collected and disposed of. The running of cabling throughout roof space was done satisfactorily and installer provided photo's of roof penetration points and weatherproofing applied.

Grid connection was setup by the company quickly and promptly and we were up and running on solar same day as install.

Following Panel/Inverter install I received 0 updates about status of the restock of the battery. After requesting an update, we were asked to wait a few days for an answer. 2 weeks later we were provided with an alternative battery to be installed and price difference (more expensive) was covered by Sungold Solar.

from time of deposit accepted to time of battery installed was 8 weeks. Battery was installed by the installer and connected correctly and working. I had concerns with single insulated cables to the battery (plug is waterproof) but still exposed to afternoon UV. An unacceptable amount of trade waste remained at battery install site (dropped silicone, wire clippings etc.) and the warning labels stuck to the brick wall were secured with a small dab of silicone.

I requested the installers return to site to rectify the trade waste, which they did 6 days later apologising for the trade waste that remained left over. I asked the installer to give me a quick explanation on how to isolate the battery/panels if I require to do so in the future, which they did.

I plan on rectifying the warning labels myself (place onto a Perspex board and secure to the wall) and install a sun cover over the single insulated leads to protect from UV. I also plan on double insulating the leads running up to the battery myself with vulcanising tape and Denso.

Overall i am satisfied with the product even with some of the issues encountered throughout the process (trade waste, having to prompt for an update).

Sungold Solar made my battery installation journey incredibly smooth and enjoyable. I’m very satisfied with their service from start to finish. Mr. Sayed was outstanding in his communication and commitment throughout the process. The work was even completed ahead of schedule! I’m very happy with the installation and workmanship. Excellent value for money, professional service, and quality products

I recently engaged Sungold Solar (Ingleburn, NSW) to supply and install a 20kWh Alpha ESS Battery System with the Smile M5 inverter, and I couldn’t be more satisfied with the service.

From the start, the team at Sungold Solar were responsive and transparent. They explained the system components in detail and answered all my questions promptly, both over the phone and via email.

The installation was done efficiently, with great attention to safety and neat workmanship. The installers were punctual, professional, and left the area tidy. They also took the time to walk me through the system’s operation, which was very helpful.

Great price, quality installation.

Quote was quick and competitive. I chose Sungold as I had a good experience with them when getting solar panels. Communication for arranging an installation date could have been a bit better, though I do understand there was a delay due to supply shortage.
Installation team was friendly and knew (and checked) all the legal requirements regarding fire safety etc for the proposed installation location. They made sure the system was working properly before getting me setup on the phone app to control the system.

Thoroughly professional experience

Syed and his team are thorough professionals, great product, advice and after care customer service were stand outs for me. Syed takes extra care in ensuring the best solution is offered based on customer needs. Another good thing about Syed was that he doesn't unnecessarily cross sell or over sell. Thoroughly great experience. Would absolutely recommend speaking to Syed and team for expert advice.
