Who Are The Top Rated Adelaide Solar Installers In 2023?

Top Adelaide solar installers as rated on SQ

Building on our previous recent articles on “Top Rated Solar Installers 2023” for major capital cities in Australia, we present the highest-rated solar installers in Adelaide based on SolarQuotes reviewers’ feedback. In the interest of fairness, we have also included ratings from other review websites in addition to SolarQuotes ratings. Let’s get started.

How Results Were Compiled

Adelaide solar companies that have received a minimum of 15 SolarQuotes reviews1 in the past three years were analyzed to identify those with the most favourable average ratings. It is not mandatory for these companies to be affiliated with the SolarQuotes network.

Also note  there is no agreed way to compile ‘top-rated’ lists like this. We chose a simple average, a minimum review count, and a 3-year timeframe to keep things simple. Change any of those numbers and the list will change. If you would like to slice and dice Adelaide solar installers based on your own criteria, then this tool is for you.

I’ll let the customers tell you. The following were stand-out words used by the reviewers below to describe attributes of the top 5 solar companies serving Adelaide who installed their systems:

Service, quality, affordable, patience, educated, experienced, friendly, knowledgeable, efficient, professional, polite, communication.

Reviews

Reviewers are asked to give details and a description of their installation, and rate the following categories out of 5 stars:

  • Value For Money
  • Quality Of System
  • Installation
  • Customer Service

Here are a selection of reviews for Adelaide solar installers who made top 5:

Adam Solar review by Barry:

“Adam was ever patient throughout the process as we researched the best system for us. Top advice was provided and once we finally settled on a system and Adam for the install the team was fast and efficient. The installers took ownership of the process and ensured we were educated on system processes and safety. Adam Solar was a name referred to us by other installers simply due to the quality of their work and the service they provide. Could not be happier with the system and service. Thank you to the whole Adam Solar team from the initial quote, the admin team, and the installers. Absolute quality while remaining affordable.”

Direct Solar Wholesaler Energy Group review by Yi:

“Direct Solar installed a 40kw solar system on our new warehouse and that is an amazing experience. From the inspection, quoting, and handover, the team is so friendly and experienced and has excellent customer service. The electrician is knowledgeable and efficient. Thanks for Direct Solar, we will not worry about the power bill anymore.”

AR Energy Consulting review by Michael:

Michael left a review in September 2021 and 8 months later we asked how the installation was performing. This is his original review.

“The sales and quoting process was very professional. The Installation was installed on time. The Installers were polite and friendly and carried out the installation seamlessly. The customer service was exceptional. I would not hesitate to recommend this company for your solar needs.”

8 months later we asked Michael: “Are you happy with the performance of your system so far?”

“Yes very happy with everything the system has performed to expectations. The only thing that has changed is that Testar has been rebranded to AR Energy. All warranties have been transferred over to the new entity.”

EnergySA review by Rory:

“Paul was extremely helpful during the design process and followed up afterward. They removed our existing system about 2 days prior to installing the new one. The installation was done in about half a day. Thorough testing and cleanup were completed afterward. All paperwork for our energy provider and SA Power Networks was done by them, with very little input required by us.”

Oslec Energy review by Jesse:

“From start to finish these guys were fantastic. Their communication was top notch and they explained everything to me simply and with the detail i required. The whole process was simple and easy – when we were at the installation phase they were at my house when they said they would be, and the job was completed without delays. They also cleaned up and left my house as though they had never been there!”

What Makes A Happy Customer?

AR Energy Consulting (formerly Testar Energy Solutions) made the Adelaide top 5. I asked their General Manager Brandon Foster “what makes a happy customer?”

“The experience of the customer is what it’s all about. From the sales process, going on-site, physically meeting the customer, going over absolutely everything, and then passing on to the installing team, and doing the handover. The best part is when they send you that first quarterly bill and there are big smiles all around. I like seeing my customers benefit pretty much straight away.

We’re a team of six including the office plus install team. Once you go too big you lose that quality control on your installs, and customer contact. We’re pretty comfortable at the moment. With our 19 or 20 years experience, rather than growing in size, we’re now looking at diversifying with consulting to other companies.”

Adam Solar also made the top 5 Adelaide installers, and here’s what Managing Director Adam Karroum had to say:

“At Adam Solar we have been operating for 12 years. Our focus is on face-to-face client service and educating our customers on their options and tailoring the best solution to meet their unique needs. I do this personally, overseeing all aspects of each and every job. Doing domestic as well as commercial jobs makes us a large company in terms of installed kilowatts, having done large projects such as Whyalla Airport, the new hotel at Monarto Safari Park and several government jobs here in South Australia.”

Bottom Rated Adelaide Solar Installers

Initially, we had planned to include the bottom 5 solar companies in each Australian capital city as per the reviews on SolarQuotes website, alongside the top 5. However, we’ve had a change of heart and have decided to let them off the hook (at the moment).

We encourage you to dig a bit deeper into our installer reviews database. If you’re new to the world of rooftop solar, we strongly recommend paying attention to the star rating and what other customers have said in their reviews.

Also, be sure to use our ‘See Australia-Wide Ranking’ feature to put their score in context.

More Ratings

In the interest of fairness, here are the top Adelaide solar installers again, this time with ratings from SolarQuotes, Google, and ProductReview. It’s worth noting that the SolarQuotes ratings are based solely on reviews from the past 3 years, whereas the ratings on Google and Product Review reflect all-time performance.

Also note SolarQuotes asks reviewers to rate companies in four distinct categories – Value for Money, Quality of System, Installation and Customer Service – on a 5-star scale, which we then average. In contrast, Product Review and Google only require a simple 5-star rating from reviewers.

Adam Solar
SolarQuotes  – Average rating of 4.98 from 196 reviews.
Google  – Average rating of 5 from 298 reviews.
ProductReview – 0 reviews.
