Very good company

Very good to do business with always on time all staff are very helpful and courteous. Neat and tidy installations, they explain all about the equipment in easy to understand information and how to login on the computer to see system running.

Easy, simple and great installation

Fantastic system has never let us down in 5 years.

I purchased an off grid system from SAE 5 years ago as it was going to cost in excess of $50,000 to connect to the grid for the privilege of receiving a quarterly bill. The off grid system was a no brainer and it has been operating reliably and constantly since the date of purchase. The installation of the panels, hardware and batteries went seamlessly and the customer experience was professional and helpful. I highly recommend this solar energy provider.

5 Stars for Zero Electricity Bills since 2020

Our Sungrow inverter and Sunpower solar panels were installed in 2020 in our fully electric house and we have received $ Electricity Quarterly Credits ever since. Sale advice, installation advice and customer service all excellent.

Easy Stress Free Solar Installation Process

Our home had sustained substantial damage following a hail storm . Apia our insurer paid to have our house roof repaired and gave us a settlement for remaining repairs .
We had an existing 5 Kw Solar System that had been installed by the SAE Group . A Thermal scan revealed that the panels , although visually intact ; were compromised and needed to be replaced . We were on a healthy feed in tariff and were aware that although tempted to power our system up risked a drop in tariff rate .
The SAE Group helped us with our decision making and we had them install a 4.8Kw Solar System. Removal of the old and installation of the new had to be coordinated with our tiled roof repairs and the work was completed in a timely manner and without fuss.
The SAE Group sent me an email during Cyclone Alfred advising us to leave our Solar System switched on. This conflicted with much messaging in the media and gave us the comfort to leave it take care of itself.
We now have the ability to monitor our solar system status on line and are enjoying life as pensioners without a power bill .

A work of art!!

SAE have just finished installation of two Neovolt 10 kWhr batteries. The location was a very visible area near a verandah. Andrew and team did a great job. Very neat and a positive layout that does not detract from the location.

The complete process with SAE Group was professional, efficient and cost competitive. The sales representative Mark Horley was extremely knowledgeable and he did not attempt to sell us more than we needed but instead designed a system which was ideally suited to our needs. The installation by Arthur and his team was rapid and professional, completed in one day, despite being told initially that it could take two days. Our old system was removed and recycled by SAE as part of the cost. I can highly recommend SAE group.

Great system for a townhouse

Bought a solar system with battery and panels because I would rather pay off the system than have a power bill each month. My install was tricker than usual with a 3 story terrace townhouse and limited spaces where the battery inverter could go. Single phase power so didn’t want to over invest, and couldn’t be bothered being a trading Barron with amber energy. Wanted a battery because I use a lot of air con overnight and the price made sense.
SAE had a best range of products, combinations, advice. Easy finance option. I got a special with neovolt & seraphim panels pre Christmas, paid a bit more because of the scissor lift for install which is normal, safer and faster for everyone. Went with top of the range panels with 40 year warranty because that’s the trickiest install, then figure the battery will need replacing in 10-15 years so that’s where I could be more budget conscious in this scenario. SAE sales and service were great and understood the assignment. I Cannot recommend highly enough. They provided after service check ins to make sure everything was working and the smart meter and energy retailer stuff was taking care of. Ran through how to use on the day.
It’s been 3 months: my system is 99% self sufficient meaning bills are tiny or credits and what I used to pay to the energy retailer is now the fixed rate green loan payment in the short term.
Everything even stood up in the recent cyclone, no issues.

Perseverance was needed

We engaged SAE group to install two Tesla 2 batteries at our premises. Both of these installations required overcoming many challenges as has always been the way with practically everything when upgrading our 1940’s home.

Each battery was installed on seperate occasions and with Energex demanding a new power box installation on the opposite side of the house a metre from the front, this only added to the complications. We also needed to get 3 phase power installed to the meter box.

SAE group had trouble getting communications between the meter box and the batteries to work on both seperate installations and spent hours on the phone to Tesla trying to figure out where the problem was. I have to give it to them, they replaced parts and upgraded other parts until finally getting to the root cause and solving all of the issues.
Today, everything works perfectly and during the recent cyclone where the entire neighbourhood was without power for more than 10 hours, we had full power to our home the whole time.

I would recommend SAE Group for your solar and battery installation because they are first class with ensuring they stay on the job and follow up until everything is completed satisfactorily.

Excellent solar provider

From the sales/quote process to the installation everything went well. I had already done my homework before getting the quote however the sales rep was still very helpful. The install team was on time for both days of the install and were all very polite. Unfortunately the smart meter wasn't working after being installed but they quickly sourced another and had it working asap. After the install their customer service team arranged for the grid connection.

I will be looking to have a battery installed in the future and will most likely be getting SAE Group to install it. I would deffinetly recommend SAE Group for your solar install.

Great System and Install - Communication around install dates could be improved.

System was only installed this week and the install was seamless and good quality.

The difference between the salesperson's lead time for install to actual install was wrong. Was quoted installed in 3 weeks and it took 7 weeks for installation, in other words an extra energy bill that I was hoping would be reduced.

Overall still very happy with product.

Stress Free Battery Installation

The quote process for the battery was quick, informative and efficient. All the technical stuff was handled by Mark (sales) and Tanguy of the installation team. The Neovolt app was down loaded and explained to me fully. I love the app which tells me all about pv production our usage and upload to the grid. I am so impressed with the whole SAE sales and installation process and the Neovolt battery , I have made 2 referrals already to Mark.

Possesses subject matter expertise.

Compatibility between the other companies quotes 2016 and 2020 solar panels and the Sungrow battery and inverter system was initially uncertain but SAE insured it work and it did on the first day the 10kw panels actually output was 11kw. One vendor proposed removal of the 2016 panels at significant additional cost. Installation was completed within three weeks, immediately prior to Cyclone Alfred. A price reduction was negotiated due to the pre-existing generator-powered reverse switch. An auxiliary switch was installed to facilitate grid-only operation in case of system failure. Comprehensive system operation and shutdown instructions were provided. The shed was full so opted to install outside the aluminium cover will later as the maker was behind schedule and placed a tarpaulin over it in the meantime.

Still waiting

Initial quote was good but follow up questions not answered due Xmas break. Hard to contact anyone.
Installer came but was not given the correct instructions and didn't connect the inverter. Came back but still some questions about the display of power usage on apps. Zappi charger faulty and still waiting for warrenty replacement to be installed.

Solid sales process and great installation

Sales process was smooth and friendly staff. Came to the property and inspected everything before recommending me components and were honest when I asked questions about certain brands that they didn’t know about or were new. Game me space to consider decision appropriately and nothing pushy.

Installation went very smoothly.

Only minor critique would be that I’ve had to figure out the shutdown process myself rather than being shown.

Great comms from SAE throughout, from the System Designer during the discussion on system components and from the install team and office staff pre and post install. Installation was smooth and the install team were punctual, neat, tidy and professional, and gave a thorough explanation of the system on the day. Honesty...

Great sales and follow-up from sales, unfortunately their engine room lets the sales team down a little! Confusing communication between SAE and Ergon Energy! The system appears to be pretty good. Time will tell??

Turned out as planned

SAE spent significant effort designing the system in an environment surrounded by trees. The install team was friendly and knowledgeable and was able to fine turn the installation for optimal performance and reliability. In the end it has resulted in a great outcome so well done SAE.

Tesla power wall 2 installation

Richard and Brendan arrived when Richard said they would, both were extremely pleasant, polite and were happy to explain the whole process to us. After they had installed the battery Richard then set up the Power wall monitoring app on my phone and walked me through that as well. Nothing was a problem at all talking the time too explain everything to us.

I had done my homework through Solar Quotes & so glad I did because I had an idea of what I was looking for & all the different sales pitches companies use to get your business.
I’d had a few quotes before speaking with SAE & felt they were falling short in one way or another.
SAE offered the best price for what I was looking for, they provided me with factual information, they weren’t pushy. The system sold itself.
The installation was organised quickly.
They were professional, experienced & friendly.

Complex install with existing legacy Enphase system

I had an existing solar install of Enphase microinverters and wanted to stay within the Enphase eco system and install more panels and battery storage. My install was a little more complex given separation between house/garage and main/sub boards etc... but the SAE team worked through it ?, after a few different quotes and variations we found an approach that worked both financially and technically. I also leveraged a Green loan and SAE were accredited for that commercial arrangement. Enphase were also helpful and assisted the team on the ground in resolving a number of challenges including a warranty claim. Although I'm frustrated by being inhibited in how many panels and batteries I can install because of QLD energy connection rules ? I now have a system which is right sized to my use and from what I'm seeing it's working really well in terms of minimising any consumption from the grid. With a 30 panel system and only 10kw storage I'm generating up to 95kw/day, which also covers my consumption on cloudy days which is more like 30-40kw/day (QLD sun ?). Although I wanted more battery storage don't underestimate the value of a 10kw battery and smart software/hardware to smooth out your usage from the grid.

New solar battery

I ordered a new Neovolt 10.1kW battery from SAE for my existing solar system. It seems to be the cheapest available and it turned out mine was the first one installed by SAE in SE Qld. So far it is doing everything it should and the app is very helpful to monitor what is going on. I purchased a complete solar system from SAE at my previous home and was happy with the company and the product then. Once again the service was excellent from my initial enquiry through to installation and follow up from them to see that everything was working properly. They also arranged the subsequent update of my meter with Energex and my electricity retailer which has since been completed.

Fantastic installer

The young gentleman had to come out twice to finish installing my panels as it was raining on the 2nd day in the last half hour of installation it just bucketed down on him but he finished the job

Great communication

Consultation and communication were great. The install guys were quick and efficient. Everything was set up and done withing a couple of days, even with iffy weather.

Explained everything and got app set up.

This is the third house we have used SAE solar

We are very happy with the whole process with SAE solar, this is the third house we have used then for and have been very happy with all 3 times we have used them.

Easy process from start to finish

The whole process was amazing from all parts of the SAE team, they made the whole process simple with great sales, installation and post sale support.

The sales representative Mark was helpful and and the installation team were punctual and friendly.
