How the mighty have fallen!
Four years ago SAE installed an Enphase system on my house in Manly and the installation was excellent, done in difficult weather and on time. We moved house and I asked SAE to install another Enphase system and that was a big mistake. SAE cannot manage a project and totally failed to communicate. This installation took six months and was subbed out in the end as SAE had no installers. That was lucky for me as AIS - to whom the work was subbed out - proved to be extremely competent and helpful. I cannot recommend SAE as they never return calls, fail to communicate and clearly don’t understand what service means anymore. The Enphase system is excellent and possibly the safest system on the market. It is engineered to a very high quality and this is the third time I have installed Enphase and cannot recommend them highly enough.Panel rating: 5/5

Non-functioning system
We have a non-functioning solar and battery system 5 weeks after install. That’s right - not working. Nothing. No or poor communication. So stressful, so unsatisfactory, so disappointing.Supplier Reply:

Our review
SAE Group were quite busy at the time so our install took a while to happen after signing up, however the installation was done quickly with no problems and the team were friendly, helpful and tidy.We are very happy with the system and service so far.

Long time SAE customers go for upgrade
We have been with SAE since 2021 when we installed solar panels. We decided it was time to upgrade to a battery and we researched long and hard before deciding SAE were the ones to go with. Great quoting procedure with many of our questions answered on the spot. Had a bit of a hiccup with installation as our date was rescheduled several times. But extremely happy with end result and the savings we are making as a result of our battery install.Battery rating: 5/5

Great system, great installer
I spoke to Luke about the quote he was very helpful and detailed exactly his proposal and why certain things were required, he answered all my questions in an easy to understand way.I needed to wait a couple of months before getting the installation done, that was no problems and there never was any pressure to buy or install earlier.
The installation took almost a full day but the quality is worth it. The 2 technicians did a very neat and tidy job and acted very professionally.
Overall, I'm delighted with the system.

Tesla Install
Chris and Joel were fantastic they both carried on time explained before starting the job on where things were going to be installed , explained thoroughly and any questions I had were answered politely and with knowledge .Completed job was done so neatly and professional .
Chris helped me to set up the Tesla App explained on how it all worked .
I was more than happy of work done by SAE Group as I chose them because of being Tesla Certified installers .
I would recommend SAE to my family and friends cause I know what type of work they will get .

Warranty
SAE Group was great to deal with for installation and so on and advice, but now I have a warranty claim with a part that is not working. I have been mucked about for six months and I hear nothing from them unless I contact them, and still just give me the run around, I'm glad nothing catastrophic is wrong with my system as warranty team are hopeless, if I did it again I would not use SAE Group, and I spent 30k.12 March 2026
From the start to completion the team were able to answer my queries in a timely manner and complete the work well in advance. Nothing was too much trouble

Flawless
Ross was extremely professional, got back to us promptly, and honestly made the most sense to us. He knew the products inside and out and also managed to get us Australian made panels. The installers arrived when they said they would, were courteous and professional and left no mess at all. We then had a follow up phone call. Fantastic service. We got both solar and a battery and so far haven’t paid a cent for electricity. Win win!!Panel rating: 5/5

Finally made the switch
SAE did a good all day installation in very hot conditions on the roof. Ran out of time to fully commission and hand over the system so I unfortunately could not access the iSolarCloud app for a week until a 2nd visit to home took place.Fairly difficult to communicate with their support team for simple resolution progression. Everything has to go through head office phone where you just get to leave a message with a team member and expect a call back next day. This usually occurs at 8:30am when you're busy so you get left a voice mail to call back which leads to your contact in meetings or unavailable. Frustrating that you are told not to contact your local center but must ring the generic 13 number so they can have someone call you back (usually when you are too busy to take the call). Appears to be a lot of admin/service personnel who all take messages for each other e.g. you are unable to return a direct call and hook up with the person you need to progress your support enquiry. The iSolarCloud app info about my system Service Provider was out of date (contact had left the company auto email reply).
System was generating daily yield of 50kw earlier this week, so very pleasing.

I had Arthur onsite today who has attempted a fix at this level before, and deemed it a design flaw of the sigenergy inverter version 2.

Hello fellow solar lovers. I have purchased many systems over the years and now have my first experience to review. Please see my experience below and consider before selecting your installer and system.
Both SAE and Sigenergy have provided very poor after-sales support in my experience.
My original inverter was replaced as part of a recall after only a few months of service, which I accept — these things happen.
However, since SAE installed the replacement unit, the system has not functioned as an energy storage system at all. The batteries have cycled through multiple fault states including offline, faulty, and dormancy. This situation has persisted since Friday morning at 10:00 am, and it is now Monday night.
I have spoken directly with Sigenergy Australia, who have remotely accessed the system. At first glance, they were unable to determine why the system is down. I was advised they would investigate further, but I have not yet received any follow-up.
I have also raised the issue with SAE, pointing out that the system was not commissioned after the replacement inverter was installed. The service technician installed the unit and left, and I was left to discover that the system was non-functional.
I was very happy with the original installation however, the workmanship of the reinstall is disappointing and that is why the two stars were awarded. The technician used 16 mm orange circular bundled building wire, looped in front of my laundry window, and punched out the side of the inverter cover to accommodate the bending radius. When I asked whether flexible cable could be used to maintain the original rear-entry installation, I was told there was not enough money allocated for the inverter replacement, and I was advised to lodge a complaint if I was unhappy.
I understand that faulty replacement units can occur. What I do not accept is a “dump and run” approach when the replacement unit fails immediately. This was evident within an hour of the technician leaving. At the very least, I would have expected the technician to return, another technician to attend, or even a swap to another replacement unit — particularly given the volume of units currently being rolled out under this recall.
I am happy to upload copies of my email correspondence as this issue continues, and I will keep the Solar Quotes community updated.

Smooth installation
Chris and Joel came out and did the installation they were very polite helpful and respectful which we both appreciate . It’s very hard to get trade guys that take passion in what they do and it shows and reflects that in their tidy clean job they did .They both went the extra mile and that in itself I appreciate . Word by mouth goes a long way these days but yes will recommend Chris and Joel to family and friends .

Clean and tidy installation
Whilst the sales person did a good job quoting, but the information that he provided turned out to be wrong on the day of installation.The office did not communicate well. I had to call up multiple times to find out my installation date. The installation booking was then moved multiple times at short notice causing inconvenience.
The electricans did a great job at upgrading the inverter and installing the batteries. They had to think on their feet as the batteries couldn't be installed at the original quoted location.

Stay Away. Nothing but trouble. 2years so far and still not working properly. After sales is appalling.
Cannot contact anyone to complain.Have now paid an electrician 4 times to bypass the system so that I can have hot water. Had technician repair and replace components and still does work. And meanwhile ontop of paying an electrician, I’m paying for power I should not be while it does work, which has been months. Guess I will have to just call them again and wait again.I would recommend calling someone who actually knows solar. Very disappointed and I spent 14k on this system.Inverter rating: 1/5

Terrible experience
Terrible experience, they installed a new system in Jan 2025, after a few months the roof developed a leak, reached out to them straight away and asked for a fix, they said someone will come out to inspect, it took a few weeks and in the meantime the roof leak steadily got worse, after multiple attempts to deal with them they sent out a repair guy who just took photos and said they will go back to the company and I'll hear back from someone, also had a team who came and removed the panels in December, since then I have been trying to contact someone to get the system up and running and the roof fixed which has now caved in.Multiple calls go unanswered, messages not responded to and false promises of someone will call back but no calls ever received.
Really disappointing experience.

Good quick installation, arrived on time & efficient. Gave me the link to download the app to control the system but haven’t been able to use it at all
The installation looks great, the battery is fully charged but is yet to discharge anything into my assets here. My expectations were that when the sun went down & the battery displayed a significant state of charge, it would start discharging into my system to replace the solar deficiency before any energy was drawn from the grid.I think the installer has missed something important here. Unfortunately it was setup on thursday, we had to wait until the sun went down before we could see any results. The installer said it might take a day to sincronise the network so when it hadn’t, it was Friday night & no customer service.
The app offers so much good stuff but because it is not sinc’d it is blank with no data.
Please get this fixed

Interesting experience
Sales guy was great. Arrived on time, quoted promptly, had great communication. He organised for the electricians to come out and double check everything a few days before install. That turned into an extra $4,000 because the sales guy hadn't quoted correctly (and he admitted he was totally at fault). Managed to get a slight discount, but still was a great deal more out of pocket than we were expecting. The 6 week turn around I was promised turned into nearly 12 weeks. The office ladies couldn't grasp the concept of call after 2pm. I had numerous calls whilst I was at work. They don't seem to communicate in the office. I was having to email sales to chase up the office people to book my job in.Overall, the system is great. The installers were awesome. Sales need more training in the electrical side of things, you need this before a quote even leaves the office. Would I refer this company? Yes! I have told many people about how happy we are with the system. Am I still annoyed about having to fork out more money? Yes.

Good Value and Friendly service
Efficient sales/quoting process.Installation yet to occur (big backlog of orders).
Customer service has been good and friendly (so far anyway).
Your system insists on star ratings for "Quality of system" and "Installation" before allowing my Review to be submitted.
I am unable to meaningfully and truthfully rate these categories because the system has NOT yet been installed.
Your 'Rating system' needs to be amended to cater for this. In the meantime, I'm forced to guess star ratings for these which may not be the ratings I would assign after some months following installation. Your system ratings therefore have potentially been corrupted by this shortcoming.

Reliable and informative
Being what I would class as a difficult customer (very thorough in doing my homework and understanding what I am buying), I have no hesitation in recommending SAE for their solar packages. We have now used them twice. Back in 2017 for our initial solar system and again in 2025 for an upgrade with battery. The system is bang on what we need. Haven't had a power bill since installation and get a credit of between $15 and $20 a month. Luke in sales always made sure he had the time to answer all my questions, girls in the office communicated well before and follow ups after installation also. Installation was on time and efficient also. SAE although not the cheapest are still competitive. When dealing with solar it isn't about getting the cheapest but a reliable product that you know will stand the test of time. SAE have ticked all those boxes with us. Further more you know they are a company that if you have any issues 10yrs from now, they'll still be around to fix any problems.Panel rating: 5/5
