ACT & Tasmania’s Best-Rated Solar Installers: 2026

Top-rated installers 2026 Tas and ACT

Two new winners have emerged in the ACT and Tasmania as SolarQuotes wraps up its 2026 state and territory installer awards.

The awards use a weighted calculation of customer reviews published on SolarQuotes between September 1, 2025 and September 1, 2026. This gives smaller installers with fewer reviews a fair chance against larger businesses.

To qualify, installers must have received at least 15 reviews during that period. All installers with SolarQuotes review listings are considered, not just those in our installer network.

ACT Winner – Summit + Shore Energy

Summit + Shore Energy has taken out the ACT award for 2026, succeeding last year’s winner, Stag Electrical.

The Canberra-based business is a relative newcomer, established in late 2024. It installs solar panels, batteries and EV charging equipment across the ACT and surrounding NSW, with an emphasis on ongoing monitoring and support after installation.

CEO and co-founder Kris Black says the company started with a straightforward ambition.

“We started Summit + Shore with a simple mission: To leave things better than we found them. That means doing right by our customers, our people and the planet.”

Kris says the company uses its own installation teams and aims to maintain relationships with customers well beyond the initial installation.

“We’re still a young business with plenty to learn and improve, so to receive an award based on feedback from our customers means an enormous amount to our whole team.”

Recent customer reviews provide some examples of how that approach works in practice.

Richard had a 30 kWh battery and another 14 solar panels installed. He praised the team’s efficiency and communication, particularly when they discovered an unexpected problem during the installation.

“They even identified and replaced a hail-damaged panel — all on the same day.”

Another customer, Chris, had a Sigenergy EV charger installed on the opposite side of his house from his existing battery system. Other installers had suggested the job would be difficult, but Summit + Shore completed it in a couple of hours.

“The company has since followed up twice to make sure there was no issues and I was happy with the install.”

Tasmania Winner – Degree C Solar

Tasmania has a new winner too, with Degree C Solar taking first place in 2026.

Degree C has been operating in Tasmania for decades. Established in the 1960s, it has grown into a locally owned multi-trade contracting business employing more than 280 people across three branches.

Its solar division supplies and installs residential and commercial solar and battery systems.
Degree C says its approach begins with an on-site assessment by an experienced, licensed and SAA-accredited electrician, rather than simply recommending a standard system.

“From the initial consultation process through to final project delivery, Degree C Solar aims to provide honest, accurate, and reliable advice to their customers.”

Some of the company’s customer reviews illustrate why that advice matters.

Martin originally approached Degree C about solar and battery storage. Rather than recommending both immediately, the company suggested installing panels first.

“Based on their discussions of the pros and cons at the time, we went with a panel-only solution which allowed us to get actual power generations and usage data before deciding whether to commit to the extra expense of a battery”

Nearly two years later, armed with that information, he returned to have a battery installed.

Kelvin reported a similar experience. He had also been considering solar with a battery, but after discussing the options with Sam from Degree C, decided panels alone were the better starting point.

“So, no pressure selling.”

Those examples are particularly relevant as more households weigh up whether to add a battery to their solar system. Sometimes good advice means recommending a smaller initial investment.

Northern Territory – No Award This Year

No Northern Territory installer met the minimum requirement of 15 customer reviews during the assessment period, so there is no NT winner for 2026.

While there is no winner this year, SolarQuotes recognises Eco Tech Electrical and Eco Sparks Solar & Electrical Contractors, both of which have received positive feedback from customers for their installations and service.

You can read customer reviews of Eco Tech Electrical here and Eco Sparks Solar & Electrical Contractors here.

We hope to see more Territory installers qualify for next year’s awards.
